@stlbuckeye132 thank you for reminding me I need to get some little cards. I also saw the list when they sent it home and my first reaction was wtf am I supposed to do with this? They didn't do it last year. But this year I thought it could be fun to do with her since she actually can say the names of her little friends lol.
Speaking of daycare this is my random. I was dropping DD off this morning and when I pulled onto the block (her daycare is downtown), I realized this car was following me closely the whole time and then when I pulled over to park, it pulled over behind me in a really awkward way. I was like wtf who is this weirdo. I get out of my car, and I realize it's my dad lol. He works downtown and had had a doctor's appointment right near my house, and just happened to be right behind me on his way in to work, that's how small my state is lol. But anyway, it was fun because DD was all excited to see him and he walked in with us and got to meet her teacher and see her room and stuff. So random!
@stlbuckeye132 +1 to not putting names on. I got bath bombs from the dollar spot at Target and am putting a printable on it that says "you're the bomb"... and just signing DD's name.
Another random that's more of a bitchfest but the lady whose office is right across the hall from me always carries on personal calls with her door wide open. Including calling doctor's offices and shit. Like, I don't want to hear you discuss your medical issues, lady! You have an office, close the door! I close my door even if I'm just calling to reschedule an appointment lol.
@blaf322 I don't know! And then if I get up and close my door it's obvious that I'm doing it because I don't want to hear her conversation lol. So I just sit here and pretend like I can't hear everything she's saying...
@meanjellybean my coworker does it allll the time. I think you should. Maybe she'll catch the hint. Probably not. She doesn't seem like someone who would lol.
Just stopping by to say "hi"! I've been crazy busy with life/work and barely on my computer so haven't been on there in weeks. Hoping as my schedule slows down I can become more active. I'm slowing work down by 3rd trimester (8 more weeks) so hopefully I'll be around more soon
@modoodles love the boxes! My girls are the same way. One wants bugs and animals and the other unicorns and rainbows 😂 We ended up having a snow day here so DD1’s homeschool program got canceled too and she was so bummed she didn’t get to pass them out.
I sent this to my husband this morning because a few weeks ago he was gracious enough to order me some pregnancy underwear online. I love him, and damn they’re comfy! 😂
We found out we're having a boy yesterday! I was SO sure it was a girl. Like, felt it in my bones sure. When the tech said, "We have a little baby boy in there!" I was like, ".......whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?" I was so shocked but I'm so happy. Just to know a little bit more about the lil' squish
So I’m thinking this time of year is for the boys. I will be surprised if my thinking that I’m having a girl is legit. Most everyone I know that is due from July to August is having a boy 😂
If y'all aren't looking at symptoms much anymore... I need you to go look and help me fix my heartburn please. Posting about it here b/c I'm desperate lol
@blaf322 Not going to lie, the number of posts in the symptoms and great question threads soooort of gives me anxiety. but also, I don't have any heartburn tips. Not trying to ignore you, just don't have anything to contribute! I hope someone can help though.
This makes me hopeful that I’m right about having a boy! I always think I am and so far I’ve been wrong. I’d love three little girls, but we have no boys in my family at all, so I’d love to have one in the mix.
And now getting increasingly frustrated that we didn’t just find out with the genetics results and still have to wait 2.5 more weeks for the AS!
@blaf322 this was prepregnancy, so I throw that out as a caveat to check with your OB. I had horrendous acid reflux for years until I got my celiac under control. I took a PPI in the morning and a H2 blocker at night. Both can be taken every 24 hours, so I was taking a medicine every 12 hours to try and maintain the acid. I had to stop using tums, it was causing an overproduction of acid. And I slept with my bed on blocks so I was never flat, being flat just let the acid wash up my throat all night and gave me a cough. I hope you find some relief soon, it is no fun.
@kc0711 Thanks! I have an appt on Tues and plan to ask for something Rx to help! I had definitely had some nights where I had to sleep upright when I was pregnant with DD. It's the worst. I never asked for anything then b/c Zantac and yogurt seemed to really help. I am wondering if Tums is hurting things. The past 3 times I've taken it when I was feeling nauseous, I puked soon after... so it wouldn't be shocking if it was making this worse too. That'll be another good talking point with the OB. Thanks again!
@blaf322 I was dying without being able to have my zantac. I bought some pepcid to try on a whim and I find that works better for me than Tums. Still not fantastic, but better. I hope your doc can give you some good advice!
@blaf322 OH also...this is weird, but when I was pregnant with DS, my husband's uncle who is an ER doc told me to chew gum right after eating (not minty kind, I used Juicy Fruit) and it helps break down the acid or something? I did it and it actually helped. I totally thought it wouldn't but I was desperate.
Adding on to @kc0711 here for @blaf322 - MH has always had terrible heartburn. He went through an insane amount of tums and eventually went to a gastroenterologist and had an endoscopy done and they found out a few things: 1. He had eaten so many tums that there were just like calcium rocks sitting in his stomach, and 2. His reflux was being caused by a structural issue with the valve at the spot where his stomach met his esophagus, which meant acid could just run free rather than being blocked by the valve.
They told him to seriously cut back his tums intake and put him on a prescription of daily Prilosec essentially - the box says take it a week or two max but he's been on the script for like 4 years (lol) and he's decently well managed now
TLDR too many time can be bad, and your doc may be able to help!
Also in the spirit of randomness he had his endoscopy done on the first day of March Madness that year and learned that that's the most popular day for men to get a vasectomy because recovery basically requires them to sit on ice for the rest of the day so might as well watch a ton of basketball!
@mehugg thanks! I think Tums are useless lol... but took 2 of them out of desperation last night. Good to know that they can actually cause more issues!

Also who comes up with these things! 🤣
Yaaaaaay boys!!!!

ETA- fun fact on the vasectomy thing
A bit of relief! I'm 20 weeks today! Half way through!
