I have my 24 week appointment on Friday! It's a week early but none of the midwives were available the following week. I'm excited to hear my boy's heartbeat and ask about the extra lobe they found on my placenta. Not excited that the glucose test is coming up.

Have a check in on Feb 10th which will be with one of the other OBGYNs at the practice then follow up ultrasound on the 27th for more pictures of his heart as he wasnt being cooperative at the scan this week.

I have 3 appointments this Friday! MFM doc to take another look at my son's heart since he was in a breached position and they couldnt get everything OB for my 20 week check Cardio for a follow up
Glad to see it wasnt just my munchkin acting up for the anatomy scan @horsesmeetbaby
Had anatomy scan and OB appointment today. Baby boy is healthy and looked great. My placenta is low lying so yeah for follow up ultrasound in 8wks. Baby boy did not want to show his face off but gave the ultrasonograper all the views she needed for a complete scan and was moving all around doing barrel rolls.
Adding myself to the repeat ultrasound crew. Baby boy's hands in face move meant they couldn't get enough images of the head/brain for my OB to be satisfied. On repeats they refer out to a specialist, because the specialist has better equipment and is less likely to have the same problems. It also means better pictures for me. So I'm not worried about the referral, just annoyed at another round of "is this in network" with our PPO. If they're in network, it'll be the same specialist that did our fetal echo for DS1. They were awesome!
Other than that I've just got an OB check in and a dietitian check in this month.
Also a member of the repeat ultrasound crew. Baby boy wouldn't stay still long enough for ONE picture (the heart valves). Tried laying in different positions, but no luck so I'll be having another ultrasound at my 24-week appointment next week.
Had our anatomical u/s today. Everything looked good! I have to go back for a fetal echo because when she said the heart looked good I said "Good!" just because it was good news and she said "Why did you say that? Did anyone in your family have holes in their heart?" FIL did...I hadn't been asked that before. She said it all looks great, but might as well go the next step in checking.
You can add me to the list of repeat U/S, They need a few more images of the heart, but we are going for a Fetal Echo anyways (due to IVF) so they will just do it then. It's not until the end of the month though.
But I did have an unexpected trip to the OB yesterday. I've been having some on/off headaches lately, but chocked it up to normal second tri stuff, but then my left foot and ankle started to get really swollen, so I was a little concerned. They brought me in and bp was a little high, they sent me for a rule out DVT scan and thankfully there is no clot. Doing some extra bloodwork today just to be safe and will recheck bp next week. I think we were probably being overcautious but I feel better getting checked out. And it was a nice bonus to get another doppler and hear baby's heartbeat. Nice and strong and they did the first fundal height measurement too which was also right on track.
@hanshotfirst77 glad that there's no clot, I hope it's not early pre-e signs!

@pourmeanothermocktail Thanks I am hoping it's not too. I think I'm at a slightly higher risk (PCOS and IVF) but am already on baby aspirin to try and prevent. And though I know every pregnancy is different, I didn't have any pre-e in my 1st pregnancy. Fx!
I’ve never had that happen but I’m also on baby aspirin to help prevent pre-e (lupus and autoimmune risk factors). I didn’t have it the first time so keeping fingers crossed!
editing to add: had another total normal appointment with my MFM today. Staying boring and so happy about it!

24 week appointment today. I'm 23 weeks but measuring 24. I've gained back the weight I lost early on so that's good! My husband will be happy about that. He's been freaking out that I'm not eating enough. The midwife I saw today was so nice. She didnt realize they had pulled Zantac. I left and got to the parking lot and she called and said she did some research when she got back to her office and wanted me to try Prilosec. I have it in hand and will start it tomorrow. I'm hoping it helps! Orders for 1 hr glucose to do before 28 weeks so I'll likely do that a few days before. I'm scheduled with the midwives through April! Getting more real that this is happening soon!

Had my 24w apt today. Fundal height is exactly 24 so I'm not sure why I feel so huge! Dr confirmed they won't let me go to 42 weeks for a vbac. She said they would only induce if I was already dilated a couple cm on my own. Since ds made it to 41+4 before I was induced, and ended with an emergency c section, I have lost hope. Feel like I just need to accept the fact I'll be having another section but I can't... I feel so defeated.
Any second time + moms go into labor at significantly different times with their kids?
@runwmusic That would really really bother me. But that's why after my section I refused to see any provider not specifically recommended by a local ICAN chapter for VBAC, because not being willing to follow evidence based care, or ACOG recommendations is infuriating and a total deal breaker for me. So many doctors around me either talk people out of VBAC, or you have to really fight for one, and doctor tries to pull out reasons late in the game to avoid it.
My first was 35+4, second was 38+6. So, not sure if that's helpful.
My friend though, her first was 41+4 (induced), second at 40+6 (non-induced), and third at 39+4. Her induction ended as a section.

Just got back from an appt to go over my anatomy scan results. Baby boy has a choroid plexus cyst on his head. They aren’t concerned, but the OB did offer a referral to an MFM if I wanted, which I declined for now. Also, my placenta is low lying 2.6, needs to be at least a 3 to avoid a repeat section, so I’m a little bummed from that although she did say it’s fairly common for them to move. I will have a repeat scan at 32 weeks to check both those things and we’ll go from there.
@chaos-and-coffee For my VBAC my placenta moved from partially touching, TX 10 cm away between 20 & 30 weeks!

All the appointments this month! I had my anatomy scan and 20 week appt last week. Baby was being uncooperative so I’m going back this Friday for another scan to try and get all the images of the heart that they need - but my doctor said that based on the images they had it all looked great!
and then next week I’m going for an echocardiogram. My doctor noticed that I have a heart murmur at my initial prenatal appt. She thinks it’s just pregnancy related but wanted to just double check, so fingers crossed it’s nothing more serious!
@runwmusic they won’t induce at 42 weeks if you’re not already dilating? The drs around here rarely let you go past 41 weeks. How far will they let you go?
@brose1117 with ds they let me go until 41+4 before inducing. They didn't give a set time for this round. If I'm dilated on my own they would do pitocin or break my water but they won't help move dilation along.
Oops I posted in the randoms thread but we had our appointment on Monday. We have to go back in four weeks for heart photos as well, baby kept rolling with me everytime she tried to get him/her to change positions lol. I did find out I have an anterior placenta so that's why I haven't been feeling that much movement which also made me feel better.
@brose1117 I am feeling better thanks. The swelling seems to be gone. I'm still getting headaches frequently but I go back tomorrow to check my BP again and hopefully it's back to normal range. I didn't know it before but at my first OB appt my OB mentioned that IVF does slightly increase your risk, so they start IVF patients on baby aspirin as a preventative measure. And apparently having PCOS also increases your risk which I also have. But I never had pre-e or even one high BP reading in my pregnancy with my DS. It just kinda scared me this time cause it's so early. But I'm glad I'm getting checked out and they're on top of it.
@kerco925 Yay for a great appt. Must be a huge relief. I know I will feel much better after my fetal echo end of the month.
Have my monthly check up tomorrow afternoon. I haven’t heard anything since my 20 week ultrasound that I had at the hospital on Jan 22nd, so I guess I’ll get the results from that as well. Feeling baby moving around like crazy these days!
@bbluemoo you have to sit in some weird positions to get the heart images but it's nothing crazy. Doesn't take too long. Why are you getting an ekg? Sorry if I missed an earlier post.
@runwmusic okay good to know! They didn’t give me any information when I made the appointment.
At my first prenatal appointment my doctor noticed that I have a heart murmur. She said it might have been caused by pregnancy and she doesn’t think it’s anything more serious, but just wants to be sure!
I had my monthly check up yesterday. I gained around 4 pounds since last month which they said was normal. I guess I didn’t gain too much on my 2 week cruise! I have to in the next month schedule the glucose test and get a winrho vaccine and get a whooping cough vaccine. She quickly went over the 20 week scan with me and said all is perfect. I also got to hear baby’s heart beat again. All seems good. Next apt is March 11th, then after that apts are needed every 2 weeks. Just wish I could stop getting nervous before each apt!
@bbluemoo My OB also noticed a heart murmur and I had to get and echo. It's literally like the baby anatomy scan but for your heart. Nothing was too scary or uncomfortable! It took about 20 minutes. My murmur was confirmed to be pregnancy related and nothing to worry about.

Has anybody had an echocardiogram and can tell me what to expect on Tuesday? From what I gather it’s just an ultrasound done on my chest.
At my first prenatal appointment my doctor noticed that I have a heart murmur. She said it might have been caused by pregnancy and she doesn’t think it’s anything more serious, but just wants to be sure!
add me to the heart murmur crew. My murmur was confirmed to be pregnancy related as well @mariabele
