@coffeeandcookies84 omg the full panel itch!! Reading that just brought back memories lol you are so right. Except I'm assuming this time around it will be full panel belly sweat (barf) followed by itch.
@rachelredhead I have those pants too! Someone somewhere mustve made a mistake because I bought them for 0.88$ online. Ordered like 4 pairs cost less than a coffee.. START THE CAR. I prefer a full panel myself, but maybe once the warmer weather gets here that will change.
@mrsdrez I like the full panel too. I mean, it's nice to feel like you're wearing normal-ish jeans.... but the full panel makes everything smooth, which I like. I feel like I'll want to wear a tank under everything to smooth things out if I'm not wearing a full panel... which will likely be just as hot as if I were to wear a full panel. Anyway, we'll see how I end up feeling about things once it's a gazillion degrees outside.
I bought a full panel. And a front panel. The front panel ones are super comfortable but I think once I have a belly the full panel ones will be better. But right now they just fall down.
I am team full panel, the side panel never worked for me. I always felt like they were falling down and giving me a weird muffin top, then a line, then my bump. Might be my permanent mom pouch causing that.
Wanted to share I randomly decided to check loft online yesterday to see about pants and there were a few styles on sale for $20. I haven't gotten them yet but I figured for $20 it's worth a try.
@zande2016 my maternity pants from last pregnancy are loft, and I really liked them! Looking forward to wearing them again when I have an actual bump since they're full panel. I actually looked at Loft's maternity selection yesterday and was disappointed in the lack of options. I think they've really scaled back since my last pregnancy.
@stlbuckeye132 I never looked at them for maternity before but I was disappointed too when I saw how few options they had. But I did buy two of the $20 pants for work and hoping I like them when they arrive.
@blaf322 I was just about to tell you not to get too excited, but @zande2016 beat me to it! lol it's really not much anymore... definitely put a filter on with your size when looking at the website because that cut a loooot of it out, at least for me.
@zande2016@stlbuckeye132 whomp whomp! I just looked and exactly 0 of the tops would look decent on me. Everything is really big/flowy... which isn't my jam b/c then I just look gigantic. Maybe they'll have some better dresses in the spring/summer!
If this has already been covered in this thread, forgive me. This app is yet again not cooperating with me and letting me see the prior page 🙄
Anyway, I’m on the hunt for basic black maternity leggings that are not full belly panel. Im in that awkward “is she fat or pregnant?” stage and I don’t need full belly coverage at all yet. Do side panel leggings exist? Partial belly coverage? Regular leggings that just have a lot of stretch in the waist? Help!
Also, I just got my first Stitch Fix maternity box in and I’m pretty impressed with what they sent! Mostly stuff I’ll need later in pregnancy because it’s definitely legit maternity clothes, but really cute stuff!
@kristinl492 I bought a full panel maternity leggings online at motherhood maternity and for now just fold them over halfway(kind of like some yoga pants do) and they stay up super well and are comfy.
It was hard to find leggings with a wide enough band that was stretchy and comfy enough that didn’t dig in.
@kristinl492 I have a a pair of full panel that I also fold over for now and that helps hold them in place. I also have some Lululemon joggers that have a nice wide waistband that I love and have been wearing pretty much nonstop.
I have a bar mitzvah to go to next weekend and I just ordered a dress off pink blush. I really have no real belly right now thanks to near constant “morning” sickness (morning my ass). My regular dresses just make me look fat and lumpy. I’m hoping a maternity dress will help round out the little bit of a belly I have and make me look pregnant and not chubby.
@kristinl492 I second what the other gals have said; full panel leggings and then fold them over. I have a nice pair that I bought at Target which is the Ingrid & Isabel brand and I love them. They're thinner but soft and they aren't see-through. If you're looking for a splurge, I have heard that the lululemon Align leggings are good for pregnancy and post.
I'm late to the conversation, so not sure if these have been brought up but the Ingrid & Isabel maternity scoop neck tanks from Target are bomb. They're not ruched on the sides, but they are long and easily stretch out to grow with a growing belly. I just picked up some full panel maternity jeans and a few v-necks from Target too. TBD on how I feel about those.
@shaqn0sis Good to know about the Target maternity clothes! I have some gift cards for Christmas that I wanted to use on maternity stuff (since spending money on maternity clothes is the worst!), but I was hesitant to try any without knowing how they were.
@shaqn0sis. I got a pair of target Jeans and the best part is the over the belly ones don't go all the way up your back. It's a little lower, which I find more comfy!
I have such a love-hate relationship with the full panel. They make everything look so nice and rounded instead of lumpy, yet it's like having a fleece coating on my belly.
@lizzybean84 my full panel pants are itching like crazy today. It doesn't help that the weather is swinging down 40 degrees while we are at work and so the ac/heating folks cannot decide if we need heat or ac.
I have on a pair of side panel pants right now, and at 15w (TTM) I'm feeling OK with them but not in love. I AM very happy to not deal with a flipping down or sliding down panel (demi or full), but the pants themselves aren't staying up as well as I'd like. I think that's the nature of my body shape, though - they stay up about as good as my regular pants often do. I'm never quite comfortable in low-waisted pants, and that's basically what these are. They don't bother my belly at all, though, and I'm hoping they fit for a long time. My other new pair runs slightly bigger, and I have to wear the BellaBand with them or they fall right down because of that.
Related, I'm happier with the band now that I've used it a few times. If I fold it in half, it's been working well to keep my still-too-big pants up, and I even used it over my too-small snow pants that I couldn't button. I wasn't doing anything super active, it might not have been up for more than basic everyday activity with a toddler, but I was happy I had it.

Update on the loft maternity order I placed: I love the pants I got, they're black straight leg work pants and so much nicer/comfier than the Motherhood Maternity ones I've been wearing. I got some looser shirts/blouses too which are nice if you're into the more flowy/bump skimming look as opposed to tight. I also got a pair of joggers from old navy (uhhh not that I am doing much jogging) and they're super comfy for lounging at home.
@rachelredhead I will for sure be buying maternity overalls this time around! They were just getting popular at the end of my pregnancy with DD and I was on bed rest so I didn’t get any. I am built like a starfish, super long arms and legs and no torso, I was made for overalls!
@kc0711@rachelredhead I’m also team maternity overalls! I remember shopping for nursing bras in Motherhood Maternity shortly after DS was born in March and they were rolling out all the cute summer clothes, including a ton of overalls. I’ve always wanted a summer baby, but now especially for the overalls 😂
@kc0711we are physical opposites. 😂 I’m super short, chubby, but the overalls at motherhood maternity had great straps as far as adjusting length and I’d always expect to roll them up a bunch. I actually bought a black linen pair and a traditional denim pair. I think the linen pair will be super nice in the heat.
Now I feel like I need to maybe try some overalls I'm sooo excited to get out of the cold weather season (and by then I'll have more than bloat) to wear some cuter clothes, and try some new clothes.
Does anyone have recommendations for work maternity stuff? I got some dress pants from Motherhood Maternity and they're fine but I don't really like them THAT much. At least they were on sale haha.
Side note I will probably just end up wearing dresses all summer to get some airflow. I'm hoping several of mine will be able to stretch over the bump and still look ok without getting super short but we'll see.
@rachelredhead ooh, I love the idea of a linen overall. I really don’t think I can pull this stuff off in general, but I feel like you slap a cute pregnancy belly on and it gives you free reign to wear whatever you want and it looks awesome.
Shout out to whoever on here said they were using their bella band to keep their full panel maternity pants up! I did that today, and it's working wonderfully and I'm so comfy now.
@b_1029 have you looked at the dresses at motherhood maternity? I bought a few this weekend and they’re comfy and flattering. I’ve also had some luck with GAP dresses. My work outfit most days is leggings, tunic or dress, and a blazer if I feel like I need to actually look like a lawyer. If I can get away with looking more casual I wear a lot of leggings plus tunic or swing dresses (piko brand mostly) with a pretty scarf.
I’m also getting a Stitch Fix maternity box tomorrow, so we will see if anything works out with that.
I’ve loved ThredUp boxes, too. You can get a box of all your favorites so just search the inventory and build a box of 10 items to try on. Much cheaper than Stitch Fix and you have more control over what you receive.
@rachelredhead I got 1 dress along with my pants and it's cute! I'll have to check out Gap stuff. Good to know about the threadup boxes, I've never used that but was thinking about scoping it out the other day. do not want to pay full price for things I'm going to wear for 3-4 months.
I went to Target with the express purpose of buying maternity jeans because wearing my normal pants with a belly band is getting slightly uncomfortable. But I really did not like how the jeans fit...the crotch felt extremely roomy...they were all that way, both the panel and the over the belly jeans. Is this just because I don't have a big enough belly yet? Or is it just that Target pants are maybe too short in the crotch for me? I'm 5'10", so I do usually have problems with jeans being long enough unless I go designer or a Long option is available.
@rachelredhead I loved my StitchFix maternity box and signed up for another one at the end of this month. I’m tired of feeling like a frumpy potato and I need some cute outfits!
@eljames83 It's hard to say. It might be a combo of both - short crotch and extra room that you aren't needing yet. Do you have anywhere else you can go to at least try on stuff, just to see if there's a difference? Maternity pants aren't necessarily the best-fitting things ever, though, just because of how they're designed and what they need to do/fit.

I'm pretty sure somebody asked about Blanqi somewhere at some point but I didn't notice in this thread.. Anyone have any Blanqi stuff? Or believe in their claims of the extra support? Or know anyone who likes their stuff? Or any recommendations on cheaper supportive clothing? Help. I've been having to wear a stability belt for SI joint issues and honestly it's horrible. It's uncomfortable, can hardly be hidden under clothing, and if it's not hidden it makes my body look horribly misshapen (and I'm totally here for showing off my bump). Anyway, I'm just debating if it's worth spending a ridiculous amount of money on a supportive tank top if it's not going to work. If it works I think it would be almost invaluable at this point. Also, I'm in Canada and they don't do international returns so I can't even try them out.
@mrsdrez several STM's on DD's BMB looooove them and swear by them. I don't know that they've ever mentioned if they're supportive or not. But they think those leggings are amazing.
@mrsdrez it was me! I actually ordered a tank, but haven't worn it yet. I tried it on and it does feel smoothing and supportive. I can see it being good for postpartum too. But the price was really steep: $75 dollars. And I haven't really worn it yet more than just trying it on.
