  • @hypermusic I am also having the same problem not falling asleep!  Like, I’m EXHAUSTED, lay down for bed and just lay there awake for ever. It’s so frustrating!  I saw the earwax ad (I’m assuming in here?) and had to scroll past as fast as I could.
  • @hypermusic I'm still BF ds2, altho I have started the weaning process. We are down to only overnight nursing.  My poor nipples can't handle it more,  plus my production dropped majorly this last week, so he hasn't really asked.
  • @blackgirlmagic He will be 4 next month. He's ready, just stubborn and hates any change
  • @wildrainbow yea...that’s a tough one. Can you maybe try and make a game out of it, with super small “prizes” that he would truly enjoy?

  • @wildrainbow Thanks for the kind words, today I've ate pretty much how I've been eating the last week and my numbers look good. It's been reassuring that I've not been crazy overeating but that maybe this is truly just the beginning of the small expected weight gain. I really hope potty training begins to click for your son soon.

  • @RedBaramid Good. I'm glad. And thanks. I firmly believe potty training is the devil.

@blackgirlmagic He doesnt care about prizes, I've tried, so I've had to take things away. So, if he has an accident (i.e. after sitting on the potty) he loses a toy he loves, and it goes from there. He gains them back for every time he uses the toilet. It's not perfect, but it works ish.
  • @hypermusic I'm still breastfeeding. My nipples have been sore, but my son is almost 1. I've dropped pumping sessions so I'm down to 1 and he will be 1 year old in just a few weeks so I will definitely keep going until then. Once he is one, I am going to stop pumping completely and continue to nurse in the morning and at night for as long as he wants!

  • @fitandnerdy My son and I made traditional chocolate chip and added some walnuts in. My husband is mad, because he's a fitness freak and was doing his best to wait until the weekend to indulge in any sweets. 😆
  • So many good shows!!

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): lime

Upcoming appointments: NT and NIPT next Monday.

How are you feeling? I sound like a broken record. Tired, nauseous, painfully bloated.

Raves/Rants: Rants: DS has allegedly been potty trained for about 6 months but he is having accidents every night and During most naps. His school advocates for this really hands off potty training approach, but it’s just not working. I think we are going to have to try something different. I’m tired of doing laundry every day.
Raves: This week DS moves up to the preschool classroom at his school (ages 3-6). It’s bittersweet to realize he’s not a baby anymore, but I’m so proud of him.

Questions: anyone have a tried and true method for curbing nighttime accidents? We tried pull ups for a while, but i think it just got him used to peeing whenever he felt like it at night.

GTKY: what is the movie or show series you watch over and over? The Office, Parks and Rec, and Buffy I can watch any time. I rewatch Mad Men and Freaks and Geeks every few years.
  • @gomillis My brother said that when they were potty training their boys, he set an alarm and woke up the kiddo and got them to pee. He said it curbed nighttime accidents by a lot. Of course, ds1 isnt there yet, but I plan on trying this to see how he does.
  • @wildrainbow We are taking DS to pee right before we go to bed, around 10, but he pees again around 3:00 so I think we need to start waking up and taking him around then. I have to wake up and pee around then anyway so I guess it’s not much extra effort.
  • @lachnessmomster ha! I knew I liked you!

Baby is the size of a(n): cherry

Upcoming appointments: NIPT next Friday 1/24!

How are you feeling? On Saturday I was like, “I feel better than I’ve felt in weeks!” And then Sunday and Monday I was feeling so nauseous again.

Raves/Rants: I think my daughter gave me her cold, I woke up with a sore throat. Booo.

Questions: if you are measuring ahead/behind, at what point did your doctor move your due date?

GTKY: what is the movie or show series you watch over and over? My husband and I have watched The West Wing from start to finish many many times. Also love Gilmore Girls and Friends.

@anxiouswife I had a fetal Doppler with my first and I loved it - especially for the middle of pregnancy when you don’t feel them moving all the time. I restrained myself from using it more than once a week and I had to remember that if I was really concerned about the baby I should call my doctor,
not use the Doppler. I loaned it to a friend so if I can get it back I’ll probably use it again

@gomillis we are still in pull-ups for nap and bedtime at almost 4. I’m waiting until she tells me she wants to sleep in underwear or until she wakes up dry 90% of nights. I don’t have the energy to do laundry daily right now. 🤷🏼‍♀️

@RedBaramid I’m anxious about weight gain. I lost 15 lbs this year for my sister’s wedding and was feeling like the healthiest version of myself for a while. I gained back 5 lbs this fall which I was okay with, and now I know I already have gained about 5 lbs since finding out I’m pregnant. I’m not making bad food choices, I just have to eat so much more than I usually do to keep the nausea at bay. I gained 40lbs with my daughter and ended up back at my pre-baby weight easily by 6 months postpartum, so I’m trying to stay positive. But it’s really hard to feel my clothes all getting tighter and tighter.

  • @gomillis When my kid was 3 1/2 or so, and was potty trained during the day, I told her that it would be up to her to decide when she was ready to give up pull-ups at night. I figured, it's not crucial that nighttime potty training be done at a certain time and it's more important to me that she get some sleep and not be stressed about using the toilet. She used the pull-ups for a while and I kept asking her each night if she wanted to either use pull-ups or real underwear. Eventually, she chose underwear all the time. I also put one of those big incontinence bed pads under her sheet when I made the bed to help with any massive accidents.
