  • @wildrainbow Moves are so exciting! Will this be a significant change to your/your SO's commute and/or in the amount of space you have?

@WishesSheCouldCook Yes! It's so hard not to wish away time during these first few weeks of pregnancy. I'm trying to spin it as a positive, like, isn't it great that I'm not totally dreading going back to work because I'm that much closer to the OB appointment and this starting to feel real?

@blackgirlmagic I love that you love being pregnant. :) I'll admit I'm not exactly looking forward to that in-between "thick" stage of pregnancy where you're showing but the bump has not yet taken shape, but I am sort of looking forward to dressing the bump during 2nd tri.

@gomillis US tomorrow! So soon!! It's beautiful here, too, and I'm jealous of your upcoming hike. Maybe I'll go "hike" around the neighborhood here in a bit...

@rivercitynik So jealous of your move up the pool waitlist! I think we're number eight hundred and something on ours...keeping the faith. And post-pregnancy, having a pool for the baby will be awesome! Do they do swim classes there or would you have to go elsewhere for that?

    EDD/weeks+days: August 2, 9 weeks

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green:  not finding out, we will see if that changes!

Baby is the size of a(n): cherry

Upcoming appointments: Jan 2, initial OB appointment, although I was with an RE until 7 weeks where I saw the baby measuring right on time and heart rate of 136

How are you feeling? Just worried, I feel like I’m not letting myself be all the way excited.  My nausea was bad weeks 6-8.5, but has let up a bit.

Raves/Rants: the potatoes that my husband is making in the oven are making me gag right now

Questions: what I said in “how are you feeling.” My nausea was bad weeks 6-8.5, but has let up a bit. Can anyone relate? It makes me worried.

GTKY: Besides welcoming our babies, what are you looking forward to in 2020?  I’m already ready for spring time with warmer weather!
  • @emiliadkay I’m sorry that you are feeling alone in your pregnancy at the moment. Can you persuade him to tell at least one friend? I knew that besides telling family, I was super excited to share the news with my best friend. Even though she loves out of town, it’s nice to still have someone to share your excited and symptoms with, she has three kids. I know you have us, but irl connections are so much better. Also, I had a belly prior to pregnancy so mine already looks like I’m further along after meals or when I’m
bloated. But just knowing that my body is creating life just does something to my confidence.
@gomillis I’m excited for your u/s appointment so I can get a clue at what mine will look like on Thursday 😉
@rivercitynik I’m also breaking out in my upper back and shoulders. It’s also crawling up my jaw line as well and I cannot help but pick at them.

  • @jdl330 My symptoms are typically really strong weeks 6-8.5 then start to decline around 9 weeks. So you should be fine. As long as no bleeding, go with all is normal.

@emiliadkay We are moving to a new town to be closer to the university H works. His commute will go from 1h15min one way to hopefully less than 30 depending on where we find a house. We will be renting for a couple of years to save some money and figure out where we want to live exactly. So, it will be a downsize for a bit, but the kids are still small, so they wont really notice or care. I'm excited even though I know no one and have no friends there.
  • @wildrainbow Ahh that does make me feel better that I’m not the only one! This is my 3rd pregnancy/3rd child, but with my first I wasn’t sick, and with the second I started to get better around 9.5 weeks. Thanks for calming my nerves!
  • EDD/weeks+days:
    August 16/ 7+1

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Team finding out, but we may keep the secret to ourselves

Baby is the size of a(n): M&M

Upcoming appointments: None on the books yet, still waiting for my husbands contract to finishing being prepared and once that happens I'll finally have health insurance again. I figured once we get the plan number I'll start making phone calls to figure out who is in network and set up an appointment. I should have insurance before I hit 9 weeks and from what I remember no one really wants to see you before 9 weeks anyway (unless you've been doing fertility treatments of course).

How are you feeling?: I am exhausted. I had to go to Urgent care the Saturday before Christmas, then again the day after. I got the flu, then I ruptured my ear drum from all the sinus pressure and nose blowing.. so I've been on all the medications and antibiotics. I've been super paranoid about it, but both the doctor at urgent care and my nurse mother have assured me they have not given me a single med that would hurt the baby. I'm really ready for the next 6 - 8 weeks to blow by fast so my ear can heal and I can shower normally and so the ringing in my ear goes away.

Raves/Rants: Yesterday I had an appetite for the first time since I came down with the flu, my husband rewarded it with literally anything I asked for all day. I got a mini watermelon and tacos from our favorite place.  It was the best. I'm also so excited my sister in law is visiting for New Years and I haven't seen her in a year. I've missed her heaps and am so happy she is gonna be with us.

    Questions:

GTKY: Besides welcoming our babies, what are you looking forward to in 2020?: A continued adventure. We're looking at probably moving in May since our 2 bedroom apartment was a quick choice that my husband picked as soon as he landed his job so we could get the family back under one roof. We're gonna need more room, and the place we live is a little less than ideal since it was meant to be temporary anyway. I'm looking forward to being able to look for places with him this time, and since he's been signed full time from contract our budget will increase significantly.

  • EDD/weeks+days:  5 weeks, 1 day

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Green

Baby is the size of a(n):  Appleseed I think

Upcoming appointments: January 29th is my 1st

How are you feeling?  Crampy. It goes between feeling like period cramps to more indigestion. Goes away, comes back.

Raves/Rants: My mom bailed on meeting halfway to see us this week (6 hour drive for us both).  Bummed about it because she's always bailing. However, now I get to spend NYE with my friends 🤷 I imagine it probably won't be as fun as the only one not drinking though! Later this week we are getting a hotel for the night so my daughter can swim and we get a bit of a "staycation."

    Questions:

GTKY: Besides welcoming our babies, what are you looking forward to in 2020?
Just my daughter being 3! It's a fun age and I want to really enjoy it. We are going to Florida in March and I'm looking forward to that too. I'm trying to be more grateful for the day to day living as well.

  • @emiliadkay That's cool that New Year's is your favorite holiday! I've never heard that as a favorite. Why do you love it so much?

  • @RedBaramid Good luck with keeping the secret to yourself if that is what you decide to do! You will be a true inspiration to me. That would be so hard for me. Just not letting it sleep that I'm pregnant gas been tough.

@samsonator Enjoy your staycation! My husband and I have been toying with the idea of doing something like that early in the summer as opposed to full on summer vacation. I hope your daughter has fun and it is relaxing for all of you!
  • @blackgirlmagic I know it's an old wives tale, but do you think breaking out might mean we are having girls? :)

@emiliadkay Fingers crossed you get off the list! I'm not sure if that particular pool has classes, but my good friend took an infant swim class at the local university and I'd love to do the same. I know everyone is different, but I am glad that I broke the "rule" of not telling anyone until I'm further along. As a FTM it's been nice to have support and have people I can ask when I have questions. People's excitement has also helped me feel like it's more "real" and it decreases some of the anxiety I have about whether or not things are going to stay on track.

@kgrgreen I feel you on this re: career opportunities. I already know I'm going to miss out on some projects I was really looking forward to working on, and I feel like I can't ask for a raise or promotion knowing how much I'll be out this year (even though I work in a very supportive, family-friendly work environment).

  • @rivercitynik I don’t think so. My pregnancy with my daughter I had no symptoms whatsoever. This pregnancy is the complete opposite so I’m thinking boy.

  • @wildrainbow a move sounds so exciting! Hope you find something you like!

@wishesshecouldcook girl same. I’m trying to enjoy this break with DH home but I’m also so anxious to see this little bean!

@blackgirlmagic that’s so awesome that you feel confident during pregnancy! I do in the middle but towards the end I feel like a big melon. Haha!

@gomillis I hope you get that promotion!

@rivercitynik that pool waitlist is crazy! We don’t have anything like that here. I hope you’re able to get on! Hope you’re feeling better now.

@emiliadkay I’m sorry that you’re feeling so alone this pregnancy. We told our closest friends and I’m glad, but it will be very hard if Something happens. I’ve been thinking about it constantly too, so it is nice to talk about with friends, they’re excited too. I’m so thankful for the bump! I hope that you still have a good new year!

@annabanana051416 good luck potty training! It would be so nice not to have 2 in diapers!

@jdl330 I remember my symptoms slacking up around that time with DS too. Maybe our bodies just adapt to the surge of hormones?

@riatortillaxo glad you had a successful holiday in the first trimester! 😉 are you a teacher?

@redbarmaid omg! I’m sorry you’ve been feeling so bad! I hope you feel better soon! I’m glad your husband got a more long term Contract!

@samsonator I’m sorry your mom bailed:/ I hope you still have a good New Years!

Same! No symptoms with my first and feels completely different this time. We both had girls July 2016, I'm feeling boys Aug 2020.

  • @samsonator I know I know, NYE is a super weird choice for a favorite holiday. For me it's a combination of so many things -- I love self-reflection and goal-setting and fresh starts, but also dressing up and drinking too much. And I'm introverted enough that the true "family togetherness" holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas wear me out. NYE is light and fun and friend-centric :) I love your plan for a family staycation!! Now you just need to get a babysitter and add a spa appointment.

@blackgirlmagic To be fair to DH, it was my call not to tell close friends or family yet. With DS we told our parents the same day as the BFP, and it was unexpectedly hard to add the worry over their potential disappointment on to my own fears. This time when we tell them, I want the announcement to be as close to pure joy and full-steam-ahead excitement as it can be, if that makes any sense?

@photographerwife Yes! Beyond grateful for the bump and internet friends to obsess with. I'm glad you have the IRL support, too, seeing that raw unfiltered joy mirrored back from friends when they get the news is just awesome. What model(s) SUV are you considering?

@rivercitynik There are no real rules for these sorts of things, and I'm glad when you felt ready to tell people you did, and that they've risen to the occasion and are already being a resource to you! I think I'll be ready to join you after our first appointment, even though it'll still be on the early side.

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): Apple seed

Upcoming appointments: 2nd blood draw on 1/2/20, to confirm rising HCG (was going to a fertilized clinic, but ended up getting pregnant on our own, but this is still their procedure)

How are you feeling? Pretty good...although these cramps have me worried. Got my first HCG levels today and the nurse said they were great. I feel like I constantly look, though, to make sure they’re normal. No spotting and they’re mild to moderate, but I don’t remember them with DS.

    Raves/Rants: nothing for now.

Questions: Do any of you have similar symptoms with the cramps?

GTKY: Besides welcoming our babies, what are you looking forward to in 2020? Travel...debating a location for baby moon. But also going to China for the first time in Jan.

  • @lovemyducks the cramping is pretty normal at this stage. And for those not experiencing them that’s normal as well. You may also hear people call it round ligament pain, I’m not sure if that last word is correct. I experienced it this time around and I’m 9 weeks and 2 days, pending my appointment on Thursday.

  • @lovemyducks I’ve also heard that the round ligament pain can start much earlier once you’ve already had a baby.
  • @lovemyducks Cramping is completely normal. I still get occasional cramping and I'm over 7 weeks! As long as there is no bleeding and it's not severe, you should be ok.
  • @lovemyducks I’ve had some cramping too. Your uterus doubles in size by week 7. I figure all that growing will cause some cramps.

@emiliadkay I thought I already replied to this, hope I didn’t reply elsewhere! Lol I’m considering a GMC Terrain or a Chevy equinox. Originally we were looking at Toyota rav-4s and Honda cr-vs but they’re more compact and more than I want to spend since I only work part time now. I am open to suggestions though!

@lovemyducks Cramping is normal! I’ve had cramping basically the whole time this go, and until 7-8 weeksish with DS.

@wednesdaygirl1019 thank god for ginger ale!! That trip sounds so fun! I don’t blame you for not wanting to tell a gossip!
  • @riatortillaxo glad you had a successful holiday in the first trimester! 😉 are you a teacher?

    Yes I am!
  • Thanks for all the replies! I feel so silly about being neurotic. We’ve been trying for over a year, so I think I’m just overly sensitive right now. Before DS we had a miscarriage, so I’m also just paranoid I’m sure. Thanks again!

    Due date: Aug. 1.

    Appointments: Jan. 13.

Feeling: Nauseated off and on all day. Still not puking! Lots of dry heaves. Bad smells, like changing my youngest's gross diapers trigger it. :(

Rants/raves: it feels like my kids have been sick for weeks. They were barely better before they got colds again. It's so annoying. I have stuff to do, and I hate being stuck at home, but then I take them out, and the next day, they're worse. Rave: lots of family time lately!

    Questions: none.

GTKY: we're hoping to buy a home this year. Not sure if it will happen, but I so hope.

@blackgirlmagic, same. I don't have a flat stomach or even close. I haven't worked at healing my diastis, which makes it worse. And while pregnant, I can just sit down and let it all hang out without trying to hide it or suck it in.

@ameliadkay and @AnnaBanana0327, ugh, I'm looking forward to that the least, having two in diapers! My two are 20 months apart. I started potty training 1 the day she turned 18 months because I wanted some progress before 2 came along. And it was great! She still had accidents, but she was entirely out of diapers at home before 2 came. And I figured I'd do the same this time, and then it turns out 2 and 3 will be 17 months apart. No chance of that happening again. :( But yes, if they are at all old enough to start potty training (which the convention typically starts at 18 months), do it! So worth it even if it took a little bit of time and a little longer than some people say it "should."

    Team finding out

Baby is the size of a blueberry!

    First appointment 1/22.

I am feeling ok. Nausea has really set in this week. I keep having migraines, which is normal for me, but I can’t take my migraine medicine so work as been hard. I am also paranoid that something will go wrong because we wanted this so bad. Trying to stay positive until we get to see the bean.

    Questions? None for now.

GTKY: Not only are we now expecting, but we’re also getting married!

  • @shaynaraerae Wow! So exciting! When is the wedding?

Raves/Rants: I don’t care for trying to post from the app lol

Questions: nope this is my 3rd time here ,

Gtky: not sure...we were planning a trip to Disney with our 2 oldest but this may have put a wrench in that lol as baby would be about 1 month....things are very up in the air as this came as a huge surprise after infertility

Now I'm a stay at home loving life and pursuing my love of photography!!!
  • @itsmyangel we were planning our first Disney trip as well. We were going to go in October but looks like that's not happening. It's our third pregnancy also and it was a total surprise. We're not upset, just nervous and anxious.
  • EDD/weeks+days: 7+2

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): m&m

    Upcoming appointments: 1/9 - finally!!

How are you feeling? Hungry all the time and subsequently feeling fat. Nausea is always lingering, but it is not as bad as it was with my first - which makes me feel nervous. Hopefully next week once I have my first ultrasound I’ll feel a little better.

Raves/Rants:  Dreading wearing “real” clothes and going back to work today. The break was so nice!

    Questions: not today!

GTKY: Besides welcoming our babies, what are you looking forward to in 2020? Fun outings with my husband and daughter. She will be 4 in April and I love this age. Going to try and soak up the ease of the age and only having one as much as possible!
