Re: Due Week 4: Role Call, Chatter, GTKY etc.

  • Hey Ladies,
Based on my O date, my due date should be 8/26. Based off my LMP due date is 8/23. So, we’ll hopefully know more at my appointment on the 30th!

I’m feeling pretty good, I’m only 4+5. My boobs are slightly store but that’s it. With DD the only symptom I ever had was heart burn.

  • Hi girls!  We made it to Friday, yay!!!

@BusinessWife Thanks for setting these all up for us!  You're a rockstar   <3

@wildermind Your due date is the same as mine (well one of them lol).  You're lucky with the symptoms for you DD, hope you have the same luck this time around.

I think it'll be pretty quiet in this thread as many in this week are just finding out!  Based on my LMP and cycle length, EDD is 8/26... if I don't include my cycle length, it's 8/27.  First appointment is 1/6 and cannot wait!  I'm 4w2d and have been crampy and extremely sore boobs.  I did have minor heartburn last night and nausea before I snacked on some crackers... Gotta make sure I stock up on them!!  I'm tired very early in the evening too, which is so unlike me - I'm usually a night owl.

Overall, I'm feeling pretty good and so excited that it is Friday!  This week has been hell for me at work so no skating by and researching little poppyseed on business hours, wah.  We are telling our parents and siblings this weekend and I'm bursting with excitement.  Also, going to see Trans Siberian Orchestra tomorrow.  Should be a great weekend.  Working a half day Monday then off until Jan 2!!  Wow this was long   :D

  • Hi everyone! My EDD based on ovulation is 8/24... based on LMP 8/28, but I'm pretty certain of my ovulation date because I was temping. I had blood work done at my PCP to confirm (just qualitative betas) but I don't have my first appointment with the midwives until January 2 and an ultrasound the following week, so I guess they'll pin it down sometime then.

GTKY:  DD (Dear Diary) -- How are you feeling?  I feel.... pretty much the same, which kind of scares me even though I know it's early. I also feel like I'm noticing every little twinge and overanalyzing it. Like "oh, is that a cramp, that can't be good." "oh no, is that a pain in my side?" In general, I think my biggest symptom is insomnia, which I think is probably because I'm so anxious about making it to the first appointment, and then since I didn't sleep at night, I'm tired during the day (but I'm also always frequently tired during the day).

@ziggymama06 I kind of wish work was busy for me.. I'm a grad student in the dissertation phase, so I don't really have frequent "checks". That means I've done basically nothing except read about baby stuff since we found out and I feel like its making the time until my first appointment drag out! I'm hoping the holidays and stuff will help distract me.

@kimbo262 We are going to my parents house tomorrow and staying for about a week. My family is pretty big on drinking during holidays and gatherings, so it will definitely be noticeable if I don't drink. I could probably try to hide it, but I don't think I can keep it in, at least from my parents. We will tell my parents maybe tomorrow, even though it's super early. We may or may not tell my siblings, I think that will be a game time decision/dependent on if my mom can keep it in 🤣 Not planning to tell extended family just yet, but I have a feeling my parents will tell their parents/siblings, but who knows.

  • @ziggymama06 oooooo! I love their music, that’ll be a fun concert! Glad you’re at the weekend, I’m pretty excited about that too. Finally. Need sleep haha I hope your week next week is better!

@kimbo262 Don’t blame you on the holiday treat snacking 😬 The week we started trying I meal prepped (which is not something I normally do) but these past two weeks I’ve been eating so much.

We’re telling my husband’s family next weekend.

His two brothers live in different states, one of the brothers he sees every other year.

They’re all coming down so his mom wants to get a updated family picture since we’ve added 5 grandchildren since she last one. So, when the photographer is taking pictures my husband will just blurt out “Leann’s pregnant.” And hope we get a real cute genuine reaction picture!

@fitandnerdy I know it’s hard not to worry, so I won’t tell you not to. However, with DD the only symptom I had was heartburn! I never had sore boobs, never threw up. I did have food aversions, but that’s really it and I did have a very healthy pregnancy. Out of all the things we’ll be stressed about during pregnancy try to let your mind ease on that one, if you can!

I cramped for a day, called my doctor and she called out some progesterone for me. I haven’t cramped since.

    ****************TW***************

My first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. With DD I was given progesterone to help prevent miscarrying again. So, I think she was quick to prescribe it this time but I feel good about taking it, even if it was implanting or some random cause for the cramping.

  • Hello!
My EDD is 8/26 based on the first day of my last period but could change since I don’t know exactly when I ovulated. According to a due date calculator conception happened on 12/4 but I’m pretty sure I ovulated a few days after that.

I’m feeling okay. I’ve had cramping almost every day this week. So far nothing today. I’m feeling irritable. And last night I had a headache and felt nauseous and weak. Woke up this morning feeling the same way. Not sure if it’s morning sickness or just stress and being tired. I have an extremely busy schedule. I also never had morning sickness with my first child so I don’t really know what it feels like.
  • HI Everyone, I am currently going with an EDD of 8/24. I have an appointment on 1/7 to confirm and get an actual due date.
GTKY:  DD (Dear Diary) -- How are you feeling? Overall, pretty good. I've been having insomnia off and on for about 6-8 weeks now. Add in the hormones and I am starting to feel really tired in the evenings. I also feel very bloated by the end of the day and just uncomfortable in general. I also am not very hungry at the end of the day.

Yay, this place is popping... guess I was wrong!!

@kimbo262 I'm also so hungry!  I usually eat my breakfast when I get to work and the past few days my stomach has been growling and so empty on my commute in!  We are telling our parents and siblings this weekend.  Waiting until later on to tell more distant family.  I'm also one to not turn down wine so I'll need to make some sneaky moves or just say I had some earlier and have a mini headache now...  :D

@fitandnerdy Wow, grad school... what are you going for?  The holidays will surely distract you and so awesome you are able to get in on Jan 2!  I know it's so difficult to not over-analyze every single little thing... I find myself doing it too.  Then I just tell myself that my body knows what it is doing and this is normal lol...  I hope it's normal at least.

@wildermind OMG I remember the photo shoot reveal from your intro (or was it the announcement thread?) and it makes me so emotional!  I absolutely love that idea!  What a wonderful, genuine memory you'll always have!  Regarding cramping, isn't some cramping normal?  I feel like I've been crampy for like the last week and a half.  I also feel like I "feel" my uterus, like maybe it's a dull ache of some sort or something?  Anyways, I'm glad your doc is on top of everything for you and things are progressing well.

@klarrissa Ugh, I hope it's just stress from work and the symptoms will melt away this weekend.  I've felt myself super irritable too... I said that to hubs the other night that every little things seems to just really annoy the sh*t out of me!!

@amm126 Ugh, sorry for the bloat and no hunger.  Have you switched to maternity clothes?  That may help you feel more comfortable.

  • Hi everyone! EDD 8/26 based on LMP (8/24 based on O date). I think this by-due-date thread will be extra nice for those of us with late August due dates, as the 4 weeks early-Augusters have on us can feel like an eternity here in the beginning.

GTKY:  DD (Dear Diary) -- How are you feeling? Physically, totally normal. Emotionally, so much better than during TTC! I'm still on edge about this pregnancy, but I feel grateful to be given this chance.

@ziggymama06 Yay Friday and what a fun weekend you have planned!! Will you be telling family in person? And is the evening tiredness translating into decent sleep still?

@wildermind I'm jealous of your early appointment date! My first OB visit won't be until 1/13. Your idea for the family announcement is too cute.

@kimbo262 We're not going to say anything to family. Like you, I'm all about the drinks so they'll know/strongly suspect, but I'm just not ready to make it a topic of conversation yet. Total 180 from DS where we told the grandparents same day as the BFP, but I'm just feeling more wary this time.

@fitandnerdy FWIW, I was basically symptomless the entire first tri with DS. It can certainly be nerve-wracking here in the beginning, but honestly I hope you keep feeling good! I bought an extra box of cheapies and will be peeing on sticks every other day or so to reassure myself until that first appointment. I know HCG is a lagging indicator, but it gives me a bit of comfort to continue seeing that line.

@klarrissa  With you on the irritableness, though, in my case, I'm not sure I can blame the pregnancy ;)
  • Hi all!  My EDD is 8/28 based on my transfer date!  We did a FET with a 5 day embryo so it's pretty definite when the EDD is.  I have my second beta next Thursday to confirm that everything is progressing as expected then I should have an appointment within the next couple weeks after that to have my first U/S.

This will probably be considered a high risk pregnancy as my son was born 6 weeks early due to Preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome.

GTKY:  DD (Dear Diary) -- How are you feeling? Pretty tired but that's probably not from the pregnancy rather from having a 14 month old who hasn't been sleeping well over night recently!  My breasts are pretty sore but not really anything other than that!

I am so glad it's Friday (though I don't know how I'll have time for everything I need to do)!  I am hoping to take an exam for a class I'm taking (I decided it was a brilliant plan to go back to school for a second degree when my son was 6 months old) and we need to finish cleaning because Christmas is at our house this year!

@fitandnerdy I had no symptoms basically my entire pregnancy last time, the only time I had any "symptoms" were as a result of the HELLP syndrome!

  • EDD- 8/22 based on LMP,  but I think 8/26 really based on Ovulation date! (I was temping), guess I’ll find out soon enough!

Had my betas done this week, and I’m freaking out a bit they didn’t double :/ this feels all too much like my last MC.

  • Happy to help! @ziggymama06 ;)

@unikittymom my nurse told me they want to see a 66% rise, which means 519 or more in your case.  You are good!!!  I'm sorry your nurse didn't make that more clear. (((Hugs))) early days are stressful enough as it is.  I hope you will take comfort in your AWESOME betas! ❤️
  • @BusinessWife thank you! The nurse never called which made it worse! The results just appeared in my portal with no call! I already hate this office.... lol

  • @wildermind That’s going to be such a fun photo! Definitely one for the photo album!

@ziggymama06 Great idea about a headache! I was going to say I felt like I was coming down with a cold and didn’t want to make it worse. 😂

@emiliadkay My husband brought sparkling apple cider to our first of many holiday events and I just gave an enthusiastic “oh that sounds good” and then made the excuse I already had a drink for the rest of the night. We’ll see if it worked though. I’m telling a few of those people on Christmas (my immediate family). They may say they suspected. Haha.
  • Hi everyone!  I'm estimating my EDD to be 8/25....I'll get confirmation after my first appt, but that's not until January 9th (ugh).  This is a rainbow baby for me after a loss in August 2019....so I'm a little anxious in these early stages.

GTKY:  DD (Dear Diary) -- How are you feeling?  I feel good so far, not having many symptoms yet.  I didn't have morning sickness with my first pregnancy (DS is 3 now), I'm hoping that continues this time!

  • @emiliadkay Yes, we told our parents and siblings in person and it was so special!  Last week I had some insomnia but slept better over the weekend.  I've been having some crazy wild dreams that wake me up but luckily fall back asleep quickly.  And yay our EDD is the same!  I totally feel you on feeling better mentally then ttc, but now it's a whole different type of nerve-wracking!

@marfi236 What are you studying for?

@unikittymom I'm 34 and this is my first pregnancy.

@riatortillaxo. Have you made your appointment yet?  Good luck not spilling the beans over the holidays!

@Pgh_Kel Hoping you don't get morning sickness this time either!

@photographerwife My friend!!  I'm just a little crampy too... I guess that's normal in the early weeks?  Hoping you don't experience any "bad" symptoms this time too!  And of course a healthy pregnancy 💗

  • @photographerwife Someone suggested pomegranate juice! Swap it out when no one is looking? I was able to avoid questions from friends last night by accepting the glass of wine and holding it. I’ll probably just tell family over Christmas- it’s 4 days together and I’ll be able to relax and enjoy it more without having to play the wine game.
  • Hi everyone! Based on my LMP, I'm due August 30th. I'm already feeling a bit nauseous and having cramps on and off, which worries me. I didn't have cramps with my first. I called to make my first appointment and it's not until January 29th. They also aren't doing a first trimester ultrasound - they said it's not medically necessary. I was caught off guard by that because I remember hearing my daughter's heartbeat at 7 weeks. They said they'd use the doppler, but Dr. Google tells me you might not be able to hear the heartbeat with that yet. So I feel like I'll be stressing for awhile about everything being ok!
I'm still active with my daughters BMB after over 3 years so I'm excited to get to know some of you ladies!

  • @photographerwife YAYY I’m so happy you’re here!! Yeah, I think crampiness is just par for the course at this stage of things. Fun, isn’t it, all the ambiguous symptoms that continue in this process? (P.S. Autocorrrect tried to change “crampiness” to “crankiness,” which is perhaps even more universal!)

@samsonator Sucks not getting that early reassurance from the US! But I hope you do get to hear the heartbeat <3 And if it’s a small comfort, it seems great that your practice is focused on what’s medically necessary — hopefully that means many fewer unneeded interventions down the road!
  • I have also been having lots of cramps which I am constantly reminding myself are normal. Sometimes I think it is more intestinal related at times which, of course, is also a normal pregnancy symptom too. Pregnancy is lovely..
  • @kimbo262 I’ll consider that! I’m sure I can figure something out. Thankfully I’m just worried about this evening, since we do lunch on Christmas Day and very minimal drinking. We’re planning to y’all my wedding in-laws tomorrow, but I’m nervous, in case it still isn’t the real deal. 😬

@emiliadkay really though! I’m feeling cranky already! 😂

@samsonator I hope you are able to hear the heartbeat with the Doppler. I’m sure if they don’t, they’ll pull you in for a scan! In my experience, that’s what has happened. It’s odd how different groups do things so differently though. I have a lab appt at 7 weeks and an ultrasound at 8.
  • Hello all 👋 LMP has me due August 31st, but by ovulation Sept 4th. My first appointment is January 23rd, so I guess I’ll see what my OB says. This is my 5th pregnancy and I have two boys.
  • I'm 37 this is my rainbow baby. I'm also scared about my HCG I havnt checked it but just worried. How did you check yours

Go ahead and call your doctor and ask for a blood test to confirm. ❤️

Also hop on over to TK and update your username to something we can tag you with and get to know you better.  Then log out of TB, and log back in again, and we should be able to see the update.

  • Hey ya'll!!! My name is Stacey and EDD according to TB is 8/28. My cycles have been messed up since they came back in March/April so honestly it could be anywhere in the last week of August to first week of September.

I'm feeling exhausted but I'm not holding my breath. I didn't have any symptoms with my girl until I was about 8-9 weeks along and after that it was bad until about 8 months.

We told my husband's family the same day as the tests came back positive because November-December had some loss with family and friends. Everyone we've told has seemed very happy for us.

  • @smsaulino. Added to the list! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
  • While a Friday evening is perhaps not the optimal time to get a conversation going, I feel like this thread's overdue for a bump. Here's a GTKY that highlights my total lack of creativity: What fun plans (or if you're lucky, lack thereof ;) ) do you have for the weekend?

I have a fairly quiet weekend ahead, but am looking forward to the chance to reset after so much travel the last couple weeks. I'm planning to go see Little Women with a friend tomorrow, and maybe try out a few new toddler food recipes. I fear my kid hasn't eaten anything green in over a month.
  • I'm glad you bumped this up! I was thinking about doing it as well. As for the weekend, nothing major. I go back to work on Monday after a 2 week winter break. I'm sure I'll have the Sunday night blues full of meal prepping and lunch packing. Tomorrow I have plans to get lunch with friends. We are meeting at a sushi place and I didn't protest since I am hiding the pregnancy still so I will need some cooked rolls and I'm hoping it isn't too suspicious!

@emiliadkay I've heard good things about the new Little Women movie. I loved the older one! I'm eager to see this one. I hope you enjoy it!
  • @riatortillaxo Yes, nothing like the supercharged Sunday scaries after a break/vacation. I hope the prepping is quick and I'm glad you have fun lunch plans to look forward to tomorrow. My guess is everyone else will be too busy trying to make their own order decisions to pay too much attention to what you choose. And there's always the "I know it's silly, but the last time I had raw fish I got a stomach bug and I'm just still feeling a bit off about it" explanation if you're asked.

Little Women was really good! Definitely cried throughout. And it ended up being one of those fancy theaters where you can order food from your seat, so fried pickles were another highlight.
  • We’re coming home from a little snow getaway. Our 4 yr olds first time in the snow! It was a lot of fun, but I’m happy to get back to the routine- and for school to be back in session! Haha

@emiliadkay I used to sneak steamed broccoli into different things- mashed yams, spaghetti sauce, etc. But it’s so hard. One day they love something, the next day they hate it.

@riatortillaxo Yum! Sushi! Do they also offer bento boxes? You could order something that isn’t a roll. FWIW- I know we’re not supposed to eat raw fish because of the parasites/food poisoning, but it’s such a staple in my diet, I didn’t completely cut it out my last pregnancy (kiddo is perfectly fine). I just was careful to only go to a restaurant where I knew and trusted their quality. Just food for thought. :)
  • I went with a roll that had cooked crab in it. I had my son with me who is almost 1 so he was my excuse! I was ready to explain that I was sharing with him and didn't think he was ready for raw fish yet! Lol !! Nobody asked though. I think I always get worked up about possibly spilling the beans and then it never is an issue. I was so paranoid with my last pregnancy that I think it was too obvious.
