@tyrion_ as of now I'm fine. My kids are out of school for break and we spent today with my dad and his wife. My hcg came back and they are 1426. So they put an order in for an ultrasound. I have to drive to downtown houston on Monday at the only location with a open spot. Husbands coming with because the kids are out of school and he can't be left unattended while the ultrasound happens.
So no cuurrent news. Probably wont be on much with them home.

@mcc-momma I think it's magnesium. Make sure you have half a banana every day, and that should be enough to prevent the Charlie horse type crazy cramps
Anyone taking unisom and b6 at bedtime? I’m going to be 6weeks tomorrow and the nausea hit me like a train this morning. I’m wondering if I should start the unisom and b6 combo. I did it with my first, but that was 4 years ago and I don’t remember if it helped and/or any other side effects.
I feel like I'm in the thick of first trimester symptoms. Nausea , thirsty, I need to pee all the time, tired and some lightheaded spells too. I'm just hoping the nausea doesn't hang around until 19 weeks like last time.
On a positive note I used my acupressure bands today and they really helped with the morning sickness. If anyone else has morning sickness I'd deffinalty recommend them and also get yourself a pack of sick bags just in case.
@cornichonmam I’m having all of the same symptoms and my nausea is getting worse everyday, I’m 6w5d. What are acupressure bands? I’ve never heard of those.
Hi ladies! Hope your having a merry Christmas! I’m 6 weeks today! So far sore boobs, extremely tired in the afternoon, Nausea throughout the day. I’ve also noticed I really dislike meat.. the smell alone is terrible. I’ve been eating a lot of eggs, yogurt, and black bean burger patties haha. Oh ya and I can smell EVERYTHING! Perfume or cologne are just yuck.
Right at six weeks (a couple days ago), the all-day low-level nausea and food aversions kicked in. All I can stomach the first half of the day is cereal (Kix or Frosted Shredded Wheats). Nothing with protein (even yogurt is out). I’m also completely wiped out by noon and take a long nap while DD sleeps. It’s funny- this is now my third pregnancy (DD and one MC prior) and they’ve all started out the same way with the same cravings/aversions cycles. I feel a little guilty for not “pulling my own weight” around the house, but then I remind myself I’m freaking growing a human. I’ve got to slow down and listen to my body.
@tara4910 I take unisom and B6 at bedtime! It helps! It is what is in diclegis, which is FDA approved. You'll have to google the correct dose. @cornichonmam thanks for the tips! Do you have the ones @BusinessWife put the link up for? I'm having nausea, fatigue, dizziness and light headedness. I feel like my body is all out of sorts half the day. Today my hearing and vision were a little off and I felt like I might pass out a few times. My only other symptom is my super sensitive teeth all of the sudden!
Anyone else take promethazine for nausea? This is what my OB called in for me. It makes me SO tired and I can only take it at night! It does help me function for the first hour or so after waking up but then it wears off and the nausea is so intense. I can’t take it in the day because i have to keep up with my other boys. Does anyone else take something that does NOT make you more tired than you already are?? 🙏🏻
@wife-and-mommy thanks! I’m going to try it this week. @jovannad23 I had serious meat aversions with my first! Couldn’t go anywhere near the meat aisle at the store and refused to let my husband eat it in the house. Luckily it passed around 11 weeks.
Anyone experiencing insomnia? I was tired all day today, I did not take a nap, and now I can’t fall asleep and I have to be up in less than five hours. It stopped for a little bit, but it has returned. I see my doctor next week and plan to speak to him about this.

@blackgirlmagic I've had insomnia on and off. It was more frequent in weeks 3 and 4, but I woke up to pee last night and then I was extremely sore up top and couldn't get comfortable or sleepy again. I tossed and turned a bunch and have been really dragging today because of it. Thankfully, I'm on break, so I got to sleep in today, but I still woke up feeling like I had a hangover. I'm so sorry you're having trouble sleeping tonight and I hope your doctor is able to help. I haven't taken anything for it, but I do sometimes just get out of the bed and do a calming activity for a while until my body will finally let me sleep. Not sure if that will help you, but I prefer it to lying there wide awake for hours. Hope you get some rest soon!
thanks @faith_2911. I’d rather not have to take something for this, but I don’t know how much longer I can take this lack of sleep. My eyes tell it all. I’m going to have to find a calming activity to do. I’m not into reading books, they typically put me to sleep. So maybe I can find a book I’m interested in and start that.

@blackgirlmagic I may be in your shoes too. I had so much trouble getting DD to go down, I crashed with her at some point, and now I'm up. Hopefully only be up and hour or two and be able to go back to bed... We have an appointment in the morning and as much as I hate to do it on vacation, I may just have to set an alarm in case my brain does something cuckoo like keep me up till 630 🤦
ETA it's 315am and I am officially putting myself to bed, even though I could totally stay up even longer.... Sigh. Here's hoping I can actually sleep
@wife-and-mommy Yes I use the seabands, you don't need to get the pregnancy ones they are no different from the travel bands. I find that they take the edge off so I can function a bit better. My MS isn't that bad yet but last time it was weeks 12-16 it was intense and they helped a lot then.
I think I'm really lucking out this time around. The limited symptoms that I had have practically disappeared with the exception of light cramping here and there and my uterus looking like it's in the second trimester after a meal. Lol. I know baby is teeny weeny right now, but it's like my body is saying, "Oh, I just did this whole pregnancy thing like five minutes ago. Stand back. I know just what to do," and I blow up like a balloon by the end of the day. So, yes, @roo_baby, I'm totally with you on needing to let my pants go unbuttoned! They're extremely uncomfortable these days.
I bought a couple of very baggy tops in attempt to hide this from our families this weekend. We're going home today for their Christmas get-togethers, and I'm not ready to shout it from the rooftops just yet.
So thankful for no nausea this time (so far). Hallelujah!
@blackgirlmagic I’ve had insomnia since before I had a positive test this pregnancy. With my first I was limited to third trimester insomnia. I took a sleep aid that was Walmart brand to help with that pregnancy. It was similar to a benedryl. I haven’t yet because this starts at around 2-3ish and that’s tooo late to take something. I’m afraid I won’t wake up when I need to.

@sarah0985 I feel like once I speak with my doctor I would take something at like 9:30 and hope that it kicks in and that I don’t wake up in the middle of the night. I can’t even fall asleep. My husband goes through phases of insomnia and I told him I don’t know how he does it. But it can also function off of little sleep.

@blackgirlmagic Unless I happen to be reading a highly engaging novel at the time, my go-to activity is usually practicing in a calligraphy book my sister got me. But hopefully your doctor can give you something to take that's safe for baby so you can get some sleep.
scgirl6113 I take Promethazine at night. I absolutely cannot take it during the day because it knocks me right out. I started taking it because I was waking up in the middle of the night super sick. Since I can't take it during the day, I called the nurse line and they gave me Zofran to take during the day. My MS is the worst first thing in the morning, midday, and then evening. I guess you can say I really only have a 2 hour reprieve during the day. It is no fun at all but also reassuring between appointments that all should be well!
Feeling light to moderate cramps. (I think this is normal, but of course I can’t stop thinking about it.) Boobs are sore, especially my nipples...good lord!
I've been getting face flushes already which didn't start until later with my daughter. I hate them. Basically my face flushes all the sudden and people around me think I'm embarrassed about something. Which then embarrasses me 🤦

@jovannad23 I have strong meat aversions with pregnancy. Drives my carnivore husband crazy. I Can barely eat in the first tri anyway so I don’t mind sticking to fruits veg and dairy.
For FTMs the best non-medicine for nausea is jolly ranchers. You can also get dried ginger, crystallized ginger or ginger chews. Those are all good, but jolly ranchers are the best.
Getting acne now on my chest. I've been lucky and never had acne, only occasional pimples here and there on my face... never my chest. Now my chest is totally broken out. Glad it's not my face and that it's winter so I'm covered up.
@roo_baby Great tip! I love ginger chews and buy them by the pound on Amazon. Gotta try jolly ranchers now, thanks!

@ziggymama06 Ugh. I’m so jealous. I am forever suffering from painful cystic acne. Would kill for only the occasional blemish here and there. Although, I do feel like it's calmed down a bit this pregnancy. When I was pregnant with DS, it was literally the worst it's ever been, and I would even get random breakouts under my armpit. But only my left one. What even is that!?
@ziggymama06 Some brands of convenience store tea also have ginger in them! which is great if you need to keep in on the DL at work! Or a ginger smoothie!
I’m so incredibly tired all the time and have an intense craving for grapefruit and any and all citrus fruit. That’s a first. Same food aversions as previous pregnancies (I gag thinking about chicken salad or hummus). I also have to take a break while getting ready in the morning because I start getting light-headed. First trimester is rough!
@babytimeagain I’ve been craving grapefruit too! I also keep thinking I smell grapefruit, which makes me want it even more. Luckily it’s a craving I don’t feel bad indulging.
