Hope it's okay I started this. I'm actually on this week!
EDD/W+D: 3/12/20 25+4
Team pink/blue/green: Pink
Baby is the size of a(n): Prairie Dog
Cravings/Aversions: I've been wanting all things sour and citrus lately. Lemonade, grapefruits, clementines, sour patch kids. Give me all of it!
Upcoming appts: No more until 12/17 when I have my glucose screen and check-in.
Rants/Raves: I'm pretty uncomfortable, which makes me nervous that I still have 15+ weeks left. Chiropractic care seemed to really be helping, but after the last visit I feel worse and now my hop won't stop popping/clicking. I don't know if I'm going to go back.
Rave: baby girl has been moving a TON the past couple of days. I read somewhere that it's because this is when they have the most room due to the uterus being stretched out but they haven't fattened up yet. Cool stuff.
Questions:
GTKY: There's only one month left to 2019! What has been one of your highlights of the past decade? There are so many.. .but I feel like 2010 to 2020 has been a whirlwind. Finished grad school, got married, struggled through RPL and IF, had DD, got my dream job. I'm feeling very grateful for where I'm at!
Baby is the size of a(n): romaine lettuce? She should be approximately 14" and about 2 lbs
Cravings/Aversions: pretty sure I'll crave sweets from now until the end of time. Luckily I've also been able to convince myself that honey crisp apples are awesome, so I've been eating plenty of those. Sometimes with a little brie cheese.
Upcoming appts: Dec 17th for regular checkup and glucose challenge
Rants/Raves: my coworker is also pregnant. FTM and she's 15w. I've been happy to answer her questions and talk about all things pregnancy, but I'm ready for her to calm the eff down. She's already the SUPER chatty type, and I'm not..... so even when she's not pregnant, I'm generally like
Questions: my face has weird red blotches this morning. Not terribly concerned and I'm just assuming its a weird pregnancy thing, right?
GTKY: There's only one month left to 2019! What has been one of your highlights of the past decade? Well the obvious answer is getting married and having DS!
Baby is the size of a(n): kale?? How does that even make sense
Cravings/Aversions: carbs and sweets and fast food 😬
Upcoming appts: 12/19
Rants/Raves: I’m almost done with Christmas shopping! About 5000 amazon packages will be arriving this week lol. I still need to find something for my grandma and grandpa. I was thinking a custom ornament of DS but idk if I have time to order one, get it shipped here and ship it to them.
Rant: I’m so over this cold. I’m still coughing and my nose is so stuffy, I’m starting to wonder if I’ll ever feel better this winter.
Questions: Are Braxton Hicks obvious? I only had a couple last pregnancy and they were. This time when I overdo it I feel some pressure in my belly but not obvious tightening.
GTKY: There's only one month left to 2019! What has been one of your highlights of the past decade? I mean this has been a crazy decade: graduated college, moved to a new state, met DH and got married, bought a house, had DS. It’s hard to pick just 1 bc they are all pretty much related
Me: 33 | DH: 34 Married: October, 19, 2015 EDD 2/22/17 DS1 born on 3/2/17 EDD 3/8/20 DS2 born on 3/10/20 EDD 11/24/23 (Formerly Marriedhamstermom Feb ‘17)
@WorkingOnMyNightCheese I’m loving all the movements too! I hope you are able to find something to make you more comfortable. I guess my cousin swears by acupuncture but I’ve never tried it personally and don’t know if it’s pregnancy safe. I’ve been finding yoga and doing some light weight training has been helping me get more comfortable.
@stassischroeder I think blotches on your face are probably normal. Have you changed your skincare at all? If it gets worse it doesn’t hurt to call and ask but I think they are more concerned about rashes on your hands and feet.
Me: 33 | DH: 34 Married: October, 19, 2015 EDD 2/22/17 DS1 born on 3/2/17 EDD 3/8/20 DS2 born on 3/10/20 EDD 11/24/23 (Formerly Marriedhamstermom Feb ‘17)
@WorkingOnMyNightCheese ugh, sorry the chiropractor doesn't seem to be doing the trick anymore. I have a PT appt on the 13th, so I'll let you know if she has any magical exercises or stretches. And we're glucose screening buddies!
@varimama I don't feel like most of my BHs are as obvious as they were with pregnancy #1. Occasionally I'll get a strong one that's unmistakable, but a lot are pretty easy to miss.
@WorkingOnMyNightCheese boo to back pain! I'm feeling it too. I hope you can find a solution! @stassischroeder ugh, an overly chatty coworker sounds terrible. I have a FTM who is 3 weeks behind me and she is such a loud talker, which is one of my pet peeves. She's almost screaming about everything baby EVERY lunch. @varimama I'm so jealous that you're almost done with shopping! I'm such a last minute shopper. That must feel great! As for BH, I didn't notice any last pregnancy and haven't noticed any this time yet either.
EDD/W+D: 3/12 25+4
Team pink/blue/green: 💖💖💖
Baby is the size of a(n): 15" or so?
Cravings/Aversions: still sweet! We're in Vegas and I've gone to all the tourist traps, Sugar Factory, Milk Bar, the Cake Boss guy's bakery. #noregrets
Upcoming appts: glucose at the end of the month
Rants/Raves: were having so much fun on vacation in Vegas while DD is with grandma. We're really missing her, but enjoying our time off from parenting. Also, there are a SHOCKING number of babies and kids walking on the strip in 40 degree weather at 10 o'clock at night!
Questions: none at this time
GTKY: There's only one month left to 2019! What has been one of your highlights of the past decade? This decade has been crazy and amazing. Since 2010, I got married, went to grad school, became a teacher, got divorced, got married again, bought 2 houses, had DD and am now pregnant with #2. There was a lot of sadness in the first half of the decade , but the last half made up for it 10-fold. I'm feeling so grateful!
Cravings/Aversions: Been pretty quiet this last week on the cravings front, other than really wanting a mocha or a latte here and there.
Upcoming appts: today for a regular check
Rants/Raves: I'm finally feeling this LO kick more consistently, almost always in the evening. DH was able to feel a kick too so that was exciting for him, and I think made him feel more connected to this pregnancy.
Questions: none at the moment
GTKY: There's only one month left to 2019! What has been one of your highlights of the past decade? I can't believe it's been that long.. for me, I can't pick just one.. I grieved the death of DD's dad, met and married my now DH, weathered a historic flood (which caused me to have to move across the state to a new city due to a housing shortage at the time, my rental house was lost in the flood), left the job I loved and started over with a crap job (but have since moved up at that job to being able to work from home), had DS, and now this LO.
@keeksie84, @stassischroeder, I can relate to the coworker thing. in the years of ttc/loss before my DS, it seemed everyone at work kept getting KU, and some of the ladies could be obnoxious with how loudly/how much they wanted to talk about it... I think for some of them, it was an attention-grabbing thing and a way to keep themselves always in the spotlight. but, on the flip side, I also understand the need to chat about it. now I work from home and have been feeling like I'm missing out on the office pregnancy-related chatter. I think there just needs to be a balance with it. lol.
@workingonmynightcheese, I worry about how uncomfortable I am already, too. the thought of end of 3 tri this time around scares me.
@varimama, yay for almost being done with christmas shopping.
Cravings/Aversions: More savory things than sweet… but nothing consistent
at this point.
Upcoming appts: I go this Thursday (12/5) for a regular
appointment and then on 12/14 to do the glucose blood work.
Rants/Raves: Rave: We just bought a new treadmill! I’ve never owned one. DH
travels a lot for work, and there are days I simply have NO option to
run. I HATE that so much. I’m a runner, so it drives me mad. This is going to
be such a BIG help. I also love the idea that if I have a free 8 minutes, I can
just go run a mile. Also RAVE: our road trip from Ohio to Denver and back went
really well!
Questions: I’m going to ask this in another spot, but I was wondering if
anyone who had an unmedicated vaginal birth wanted to share their experience. I
think I am most curious about what was the HARDEST part… transition? Crowning?
Getting fixed up after? The placenta? I’m contemplating going that route for various
reasons, but I just want to hear some honest feedback.
GTKY: There's only one month left to
2019! What has been one of your highlights of the past decade? Wow. Crazy! Without a doubt the highlights for me are
getting my dog and driving across the country with her, having DD and having DS.
I also love that I moved back to Cincinnati and bought a GREAT house two doors
from my parents/childhood home. But obviously becoming a mom tops everything. Pregnancy,
giving birth, parenting, snuggling. Everything about my life is different since
the decade prior and ALL for the better.
@workingonmynightcheese I feel you on the fears re: possibly
having 15 weeks left. I’m OK now, but I can’t imagine the next 15 weeks.
Obviously and STM knows that the growing REALLY happens between now and 37
weeks. Yikes. And yay for movement!
@stassischroeder I have weird red blotches too! They seem to
come entirely randomly. Some days I have them, sometimes I don’t… but I never
have them when I’m NOT pregnant. WTF?
@varimama That is so great you are almost done with
shopping. I’ve done SOME but still have a ways to go… but will also be seeing
1,000 packages from Amazon and Target over the next week haha. And I don’t find
BH obvious at all. I only knew I had them with DS because I was admitted for
monitoring once. It was pressure as you describe but not obvious or rhythmic
but sure enough!
@emilylove25, for unmedicated birth, could I say.. all of it was pretty challenging? at least for me it was. compared to having an epidural, it is definitely different. transition was out of this world for me. the pain was so intense that I pretty much 'went to another place' if that makes sense. I started imagining myself as a child sitting at my grandma's table eating sugar cookies with her, and the hallucination was pretty real. lol. pushing, I would say, was about the same as my epidural birth, though I felt more sensation in my back and laying on my back was almost unbearable (whereas with the epidural birth, laying on my back wasn't a big deal). crowning is definitely different - without the epidural, I felt that burning sensation they talk about (the ring of fire.) after the birth was, I think, the most shock to me - I was still in pain! I remember after my epidural birth, as soon as DD was born, the pain was gone and I was blissful. not so with my unmedicated birth. I still felt some pretty painful contractions until the placenta was delivered, and of course, the stitching up afterwards sucked because I could feel it all (with the epidural I was blissfully unaware of this part.)
overall, though, the unmedicated birth was nice because I was free to get up and walk around right after birth, whereas with the epidural, my legs were still pretty numb and I couldn't get up for awhile. the recovery was also much easier for the birth without the epidural.. I felt like myself pretty much right after the birth/stitches were complete, but the epidural birth, I felt crappy for several days afterwards. the crappy feeling after the epidural birth could have also been due to the fact that I was induced for it as well, idk.
one thing that was very annoying is that even though I didn't have the epidural, the hospital still charged me for it. I called them to complain about the bill, they said it would be 'taken care of', but it never was, and with a newborn, I didn't have the time/energy to go through any kind of drawn out dispute process.
the other thing, if you're going to go unmedicated, a reliable birth partner or doula is pretty much a must. my DH was there applying counter-pressure on each and every contraction and encouraging me the entire time, I don't think I could have done the natural birth without him. (or without the jacuzzi tub, I sat in that pretty much the whole time and it helped a lot.) The nurses/midwife I don't think would have helped me achieve it, because they were MIA most of the time tending to another woman who was laboring the same time I was, and when the (young) nurse was there, she didn't have a very good attitude and I just wanted her to go away. She snapped at me that I was 'fighting' contractions, and there was 'no way' my baby was going to be born that way unless I stopped fighting. ARGH. I could have punched her at the time. LOL. besides, I'm not even sure how one would 'fight' contractions, even if they wanted to.
Cravings/Aversions: It's confirmed, my official craving is pie (specifically apple pie or sweet potato pie) and ice cream. No aversions.
Upcoming appts: Regular OB check-up 12/17 and 28-wk Ultrasound 12/19
Raves: I took and passed my glucose test! Now I can continue to eat all the pie I want guilt-free Also, DH and I hosted thanksgiving in our new home and it was amazing! Thankfully, I had lots of help from my mom and sister with the day before/day of preparations.
Baby is kicking away and I'm loving it. I feel like he recognizes loud noises because whenever I'm in a place where there's a lot of noise/music, he moves a LOT.
No rants this week.
Questions: No questions this week.
GTKY: There's only one month left to 2019! What has been one of your highlights of the past decade? My highlights of this past decade are getting married, buying a house, traveling and of course getting pregnant. I'm turning 30 in a few weeks and I feel that I can look back on my 20's and feel satisfied knowing that I accomplished everything I set out to do.
@treetop19 thanks for sharing your birth stories and detailing the difference between your unmedicated vs medicated birth. I'm a FTM and I'm nervous about how I will handle the pain so I'm not sure whether or not I'll be going for an epidural, but I'm hoping to try to go without one as long as I can.
Baby is the size of a(n): Kale? Which makes no sense to me but my doctor estimates she is about 2lbs 4oz and 13 inches as of yesterday.
Cravings/Aversions: No Cravings or Aversions
Upcoming appts: Officially going to the OB now every 2 weeks so I went yesterday for a checkup and I go back Dec. 17th. At 31 weeks I go back to the place I went for my Anatomy scan. I have no idea why. They got all the pics they needed yesterday and baby girl was all good.
Rants/Raves: Rant: Although I passed my 3 hour glucose test I have to do it again because they gave it to me early which is insane to me. At first they asked if I wanted to do the 1 hour again but I refused because I would probably fail it again and have to do the 3 hour anyway so I am just going straight to that one. It's so frustrating. Now I have to spend another 3 hours at Labcorp.
Rave: Feeling this LO moving so much now! I love it!!
Questions: The skin under my arms, under my boobs and around my belly button are so dark! Any one else experiencing this?
GTKY: There's only one month left to 2019! What has been one of your highlights of the past decade? So much good has happened this decade. Graduated college and grad school, got married, moved to a new town and community we love. DH got a job he loves. We got our beautiful furbaby Lola and of course getting pregnant is amazing!
@lizp1229 Yay for passing your glucose test and a successful Thanksgiving!
@treetop19 DH husband got so excited when he finally felt the LO kick. I definitely feel like it helped him feel more connected to the pregnancy. Now he's always asking if she is moving so he can feel lol
@keeksie84 Enjoy Vegas!! I've always wanted to go there.
@varimama So jealous you are almost done with your shopping. I am normally on top of it but my sinus infection through me off my game. Hoping I can get it all done this week.
@stassischroeder I am at the point where I just don't want any of my coworkers talking to me at all lol
@WorkingOnMyNightCheese Sorry you are feeling so uncomfortable. I hope you find something to help with it.
@treetop19, thanks so much for the detailed comparison! Maybe I missed it, but are you leaning more towards medicated or unmedicated for this birth? I had an epidural last time and after reading your description I think I'll do it again, lol!
@keeksie84, I am hoping to go unmedicated again, but a lot of that is going to depend on DH's ability to be there 'in the trenches' the entire birth.. he may have to be attending to DS instead if our childcare options fall through. I'm also hoping I'll have more supportive nurses, so maybe they could fill in any gaps this time around. so I guess I'm just going to play it by ear the day of since so many things are still up in the air, I'm not super opposed to getting an epidural if it's going to be necessary under the circumstances. I also feel like since I've already experienced unmedicated once (it was kind of a bucket-list item for me), that I won't be super sad if I can't do it again.
@lizp1229 I went into labor with DS exactly how you are now. Everyone is different, but in my experience, I would've needed A LOT more preparation and support in order to forgo the epidural. After that experience, I know that, if I really want to go med-free this time, I will need to be doing some sort of prep course like hypnobabies, and hiring a doula. Granted, my labor was slightly complicated by cervical scar tissue, which meant that I was having transition-like contractions at 2cm. But, I doubt my decision to have an epidural would've changed if I didn't have scar tissue - I would've just gotten it a bit later. LSS: if you're serious about having a med-free birth, do a lot of prep and hire a doula!
Baby is the size of a(n): 🤷🏼♀️ I’ve stopped checking. He’s big. And I feel the pressure. Lol
Cravings/Aversions: Panera broccoli cheddar soup. I’ve been craving it a few days now so I decided to try a copycat recipe for dinner tonight! I still don’t really want meat. And I’m starting to feel queasy again. Wtf body.
Upcoming appts: I have one on the 17th with the new midwife group!!! I’m so dang excited.
Rants/Raves: I just feel like crap. I’m so uncomfortable And huge and sore and it worries me because there’s still a lot of time left. I seriously don’t know how this babe will have enough room to grow for three more months. I swear my bump grew overnight and suddenly my t-shirts don’t even cover it anymore. Ugh. Also these Braxton Hicks suck. I’m sorry I’m being a complainy-pants today.
Questions: I can’t think of any.
GTKY: There's only one month left to 2019! What has been one of your highlights of the past decade? Having my babies!
@treetop19 Thank you so much! Those are the exact details I was hoping someone would share. I think the more you know about what can happen etc. the better. I've heard so much too from moms re: the pain after (med free). I also love your description of it as a "bucket list" item. I think that is part of it for me, but I also know that my god was labor painful and I'm probably simply too weak to go without an epidural... but I want to think more openly about it and SERIOUSLY consider it.
@treetop19 it’s so nice to hear perspective from someone who has had both medicated and unmedicated birth!!! I have been induced twice and had epidural both times. This time i would really love to experience natural birth. H isn’t super into that idea though so I don’t know what I’ll do without a supportive birthing partner.
Hi everyone! I was so busy last week at work and The Bump would NOT load on my phone so I couldn't even come check in here! I wish I had a computer at home.... anyway, it feels like it's been forever.
@WorkingOnMyNightCheese Ah, that makes sense why the baby seems to be moving so much right now. It's such an interesting feeling and I love it so much! So sweet. I am so sorry you're so uncomfortable, BTW. I'm, in the same boat, though. I feel like I'm beyond bloated and there are still so many weeks left... eek.
@stassischroeder I have weird itchy blotches on my face, too! I hate it! I also would be going nuts if I had an overly chatty coworker. I am pretty quiet at work for the most part.
@keeksie84 Ahh I'm so jealous about your Vegas trip! Especially the Cake Boss guy's bakery!!!
@treetop19 I've been craving chai tea lattes so much lately, it's so weird! So sweet that your husband got to feel a baby kick! My partner got to feel ours last week for the first time and he was so moved by it. It was the sweetest thing ever. Also, thanks for sharing your experience with unmedicated birthing. I'm not sure I'm strong enough for that.
@EmilyLove25 I love that you're team green! I wish I had that willpower. My sister is due in May and they aren't finding out either. They didn't with their first, who is 3 now. I will never forget the phone call when she actually had the baby and we got to all find out it was a boy. So exciting! Oh, and having a treadmill at home is a HUGE game changer (at least for me, anyway). Have fun!!
@stacey6689 Oh that is super annoying that you have to do the glucose test all over again even though you passed. I hope this one goes smoothly and you don't have to do it again after this. Sheesh!
@miss.sally Omg I had been craving Panera's broccoli cheddar soup too so much, and I had never been able to get to Panera so I bought the little mini version at the grocery store and it was EVERYTHING. Now I want it again! Also, good luck with your midwife group!!!!!! That's so exciting! Also, my big loose t-shirts don't cover my bump anymore either and it's shocking to me that there's still so many weeks to go. How?! I'm going to be a freakin' house!
@WorkingOnMyNightCheese I've also been digging lemonade, and LOVING all the movement! @stassischroeder I'm convinced I will always want all of the sweets too! And LOL at muting your co-worker. I too hate small talk, especially when it involves my uterus. @keeksie84 I'm jealous of your Vegas trip and all those treat options! @treetop19 Thanks for sharing your experiences! @stacey6689 I would be PISSED about taking that 3 hour test again!
EDD/W+D: 3.10/26 weeks
Team pink/blue/green: blue
Baby is the size of a(n): butternut squash
Cravings/Aversions: Spicy foods and sweets!
Upcoming appts: Checkup & glucose test on Friday. I'm really hoping I pass the one hour this time, because last pregnancy that 3 hour test suuuuuuckkkkked!
Rants/Raves: Rant: DS has become a master manipulator when it comes to putting off bedtime, and then a monster in the morning when I'm getting him ready for daycare. I'm sure it's typical toddler behavior, but I hate that it's becoming such a battle every day. We also had to spend $400 on our van yesterday, after replacing a tire 2 weeks ago. I hate unexpected expenses, but especially around the holidays. Rave: My mom and I are going to see a play tonight, and DH is on kid duty. I'm looking forward to it! We also had family pictures taken on Sunday, and DS was so good, so I'm excited to see how they turn out.
Questions: This may be better to ask in the baby shower thread, but I've had two people offer to host a shower/sprinkle. Do you think it's rude to request diapers/gift cards? I have a small registry for the completion discount, but I'd much rather just get some diapers and gift cards this time around.
GTKY: There's only one month left to 2019! What has been one of your highlights of the past decade? DH and I reconnected after college and started dating in 2010. Since then, we've moved to different states, bought a house, got engaged/married, and will now have 2 boys! Also, advancing my career and winning 2 Emmy awards have been highlights!
Baby is the size of a(n): I'm not even sure at this point, lol! An acorn squash, according to the Internet.
Cravings/Aversions: I'm still craving roast beef sandwiches from Arby's and all the sweet things ever... especially chocolate cake, mmmmmm! It's hard for me to eat a lot of meat, but gimme all the side dishes! Also chai tea lattes. I'm not sure what has made me decide that I need them now, but I am obsessed. Oh, and super random - deviled eggs.
Upcoming appts: My next appointment is December 20, just a general check up. I have to get a TDAP shot, which doesn't sound pleasant.
Rants/Raves: I'm still raving about feeling this baby move so much! I was so worried that I was never going to feel her (silly anterior placenta) but I feel her very often now and I love it. ALSO I FINALLY STARTED THE ZOLOFT ALMOST TWO WEEKS AGO! I feel soooooooooo much better. I haven't been weepy! I am totally dried out from it, though, which is super annoying. But I'll take it over how I was feeling previously any day. I should have taken it way, way sooner.
Questions: None right now
GTKY: There's only one month left to 2019! What has been one of your highlights of the past decade? This decade was a whirlwind for me.... and I really don't have a lot of good to show for it until this past year. I got married and divorced, which really, really, really is painful. But I also started dating my friend who I've known for a long time and now we're together and having a baby. I just got a promotion at work (hence how dang busy I've been lately), and I feel like things might be looking up for me. Fingers crossed this next decade is better for me.
Cravings/Aversions: Craving oatmeal and oat-based baked goods for some reason.
Upcoming appts: Had the 1 hour glucose test today, go back for a measurement and checkup on the 23rd
Rants/Raves: THIS BABY IS SO WIGGLY. Of course throughout Thanksgiving week, when all the aunts and moms were going "IS THE BABY KICKING???" she was completely chill. I return to normal life though and it's like she's trying to kick through my abdominal wall!
I'm having pretty much constant heartburn again. Probably my uterus and my stomach fighting for space.
GTKY: There's only one month left to 2019! What has been one of your highlights of the past decade?
Dang. A decade ago I wasn't even out of undergrad yet. So I guess this decade I got my first degree, followed by my first real job, got a masters degree, met my husband, married my husband, and got pregnant.
@miss.sally I also was induced and had an epidural both times. I don’t think I can handle a full on natural birth (I have very low pain tolerance and I know it, and also anxiety gets the best of me) but I am interested in laboring naturally longer/laboring at home longer/having increased mobility, listening to my body more and feeling some contractions, and only getting the epidural when I really need it. That is one of the reasons I switched to a midwife this time. (They’re part of my OB practice so all of the support of a midwife, with the perks of an OB and anesthesiologist on standby.) Interested to hear everyone’s thoughts on this too. I think we need a thread.
Cravings/Aversions: pie, pie and more pie. Still not wanting most meats.
Upcoming appts: 12/6 with my midwife!
Rants/Raves: Rant! I have used natural deodorant for a while (Native specifically) and within the last week I swear to god it’s no longer working, I showered with DH the other day and he said I was “ripe” 🙄😂 I’m blaming pregnancy hormones
Questions: anyone score anything great for baby on Black Friday? This is our 1st so we need everything and I was so happy to get the Halo bassinet I wanted plus nursery furniture and got so much kohl’s cash back that I bought a bunch of clothes and some registry items 😂
GTKY: There's only one month left to 2019! What has been one of your highlights of the past decade? These last 10 years have been a doozy. I moved away from my hometown, got married, bought a house, got divorced (needed that more than I knew 😂) reconnected with my now husband, had a whirlwind romance, got married, moved back closer to home, bought another house, and now we are going to be parents. So glad this decade allowed me a big mess up and the best do-over I could have imagined 🥰
@EmilyLove25 I am wanting an epidural free birth. I am really keen on being able to have a faster recovery process. I am doing my best to prepare but since this is baby number 1, I’m open to being a little flexible and do whatever is best for baby ultimately. But I’m sure as hell going to try to skip that epidural. I’m terrified of all the stories I have heard about women having recurrent pain in the epidural site years afterward 😐

@varimama I don't feel like most of my BHs are as obvious as they were with pregnancy #1. Occasionally I'll get a strong one that's unmistakable, but a lot are pretty easy to miss.

This decade has been crazy and amazing. Since 2010, I got married, went to grad school, became a teacher, got divorced, got married again, bought 2 houses, had DD and am now pregnant with #2. There was a lot of sadness in the first half of the decade , but the last half made up for it 10-fold. I'm feeling so grateful!
Team pink/blue/green: team pink
Baby is the size of a(n):

Baby is the size of a(n): Prairie Dog
Cravings/Aversions: More savory things than sweet… but nothing consistent at this point.
Upcoming appts: I go this Thursday (12/5) for a regular appointment and then on 12/14 to do the glucose blood work.
Rants/Raves: Rave: We just bought a new treadmill! I’ve never owned one. DH travels a lot for work, and there are days I simply have NO option to run. I HATE that so much. I’m a runner, so it drives me mad. This is going to be such a BIG help. I also love the idea that if I have a free 8 minutes, I can just go run a mile. Also RAVE: our road trip from Ohio to Denver and back went really well!
Questions: I’m going to ask this in another spot, but I was wondering if anyone who had an unmedicated vaginal birth wanted to share their experience. I think I am most curious about what was the HARDEST part… transition? Crowning? Getting fixed up after? The placenta? I’m contemplating going that route for various reasons, but I just want to hear some honest feedback.
GTKY: There's only one month left to 2019! What has been one of your highlights of the past decade? Wow. Crazy! Without a doubt the highlights for me are getting my dog and driving across the country with her, having DD and having DS. I also love that I moved back to Cincinnati and bought a GREAT house two doors from my parents/childhood home. But obviously becoming a mom tops everything. Pregnancy, giving birth, parenting, snuggling. Everything about my life is different since the decade prior and ALL for the better.
@workingonmynightcheese I feel you on the fears re: possibly having 15 weeks left. I’m OK now, but I can’t imagine the next 15 weeks. Obviously and STM knows that the growing REALLY happens between now and 37 weeks. Yikes. And yay for movement!
@stassischroeder I have weird red blotches too! They seem to come entirely randomly. Some days I have them, sometimes I don’t… but I never have them when I’m NOT pregnant. WTF?
@varimama That is so great you are almost done with shopping. I’ve done SOME but still have a ways to go… but will also be seeing 1,000 packages from Amazon and Target over the next week haha. And I don’t find BH obvious at all. I only knew I had them with DS because I was admitted for monitoring once. It was pressure as you describe but not obvious or rhythmic but sure enough!
@keeksie84 OMG enjoy VEGAS!
@Treetop19 I love feeling more movement. That’s awesome DH was able to feel it as well. I don’t think I knew about the loss of DD’s dad. So many hugs.

overall, though, the unmedicated birth was nice because I was free to get up and walk around right after birth, whereas with the epidural, my legs were still pretty numb and I couldn't get up for awhile. the recovery was also much easier for the birth without the epidural..
(sorry for the novel.. lol)

Baby is the size of a(n): Cauliflower
@WorkingOnMyNightCheese Isn't the movement wonderful? I'm loving it so much!
@stassischroeder I wish I could mute all of my coworkers, especially the ones that keep asking me dumb questions about my pregnancy.
@treetop19 Your husband's lucky! I've been trying to get DH to feel the kicks but everytime he puts his hand on my stomach, baby stops moving haha
Team pink/blue/green: Pink
Baby is the size of a(n): Kale? Which makes no sense to me but my doctor estimates she is about 2lbs 4oz and 13 inches as of yesterday.
Cravings/Aversions: No Cravings or Aversions
Upcoming appts: Officially going to the OB now every 2 weeks so I went yesterday for a checkup and I go back Dec. 17th. At 31 weeks I go back to the place I went for my Anatomy scan. I have no idea why. They got all the pics they needed yesterday and baby girl was all good.
Rants/Raves:
Rant: Although I passed my 3 hour glucose test I have to do it again because they gave it to me early which is insane to me.
@EmilyLove25 So glad your road trip went well!!
@treetop19 DH husband got so excited when he finally felt the LO kick. I definitely feel like it helped him feel
more connected to the pregnancy.

Have fun!!
@lizp1229 Yay for passing the glucose test!!!

Team pink/blue/green: blue!
Baby is the size of a(n): TI-89 calculator lol
@emilyace Eek, I hadn't really heard about women having recurring pain in their epidural site... that makes me nervous.
@mauvelousone My baby has been so wiggly lately too, except of course on Thanksgiving when anyone else wanted to feel her!
