My next appointment is the 20th and it's just a quick checkup to measure the baby, but I also am getting a TDAP shot. My partner already had one 3 years ago, and I guess everyone is supposed to have one within the last 5 years when you have a baby, so that's neat.
@Malidocious, I'm getting my TDAP on the 13th. You might know this, but the tech that gave me a flu shot said if you relax your muscles completely, you'll get a lot less sore. He was totally right, it barely hurt at all -- might be worth keeping in mind!
My next OB appointment is on Dec.17th for a check-up and to get my TDAP. Can't believe I am at the point in the pregnancy where I am going to the doctors every 2 weeks. We are getting so close!!
@pdx2020 Oooh that is solid advice! I almost always tense up because I hate shots, and then I wonder why it feels like I got kicked in the arm days after, lol!
@stacey6689 wow this seems early for every 2 weeks. My next two appts are 4 weeks apart, then 3, then 2 and then every week. I think it works out to weeks 28, 32, 35, 37, 38, 39, 40, then last time I had ultrasounds every 3 days and was induced at 41 weeks based off those ultrasounds.

@varimama Yeah I thought that my next step would be going every 3 weeks but apparently it depends on your OB. They told me it's every 2 weeks until I am 35 weeks and then it's weekly after that.
I'm currently every 6 weeks with my appointments... I think I'll go to 4 weeks though after my 24 week. I'm on some modified schedule because I take my BP at home & it is monitored with an app
I go every 4 weeks right now, but I have no idea when it will switch to every 3 or 2 weeks. I need to make a note to ask my OB so I can start scheduling how much time off from work I will need for appointments. I'm trying to save my PTO for maternity leave, but I've been working overtime to get comp time. I wish the US had mandatory paid maternity leave. It just does NOT make sense to me that we don't.
My next appointment at 28 weeks (beginning of January) is my last “every 4 weeks” appointment and I will do my glucose test then. I start every two weeks after that which means I go back again at 30 weeks. Can’t believe she’s almost here!
Just drank my glucose drink, and waiting on my blood draw. Really hoping I pass! Then I’ll be back in two weeks to start biweekly appointments, and ultrasounds every 4 weeks. At 36 weeks, I’ll start weekly appointments and ultrasounds.
I had my 24 week appt this Wed. Won't be going back until 29 weeks bc of holidays/travel--and their schedule was booked anyway for my 28th week! I guess everyone's schedule gets all messed up bc of the holidays.
They didn't make me drink the glucose drink--basically my calling in advance about that did nothing. I had to explain to the Dr. what I explained to the nurse about how drinking it would trigger my ibs-d and it would go right thru me so there was no point. The Dr. sent in a prescription for a home blood test kit, and anytime between now and my next appt. 4 times a day for 7 days i have to stick myself with a needle and record my blood test results. i am going to do it starting next wed. i think--after i no longer have to be on campus and before i travel for the holidays. Nothing else to report from that visit except they took my blood to test for anemia.
@kagesstarshroom well that's annoying the communication wasn't there from the nurses/dr., but glad you aren't drinking the drink!! nobody got time for IBS-D!
Currently sitting at the lab doing my glucose test. Last time I failed by ONE damn point and had to do the 3 hour, which sucks. Crossing my fingers I pass this time.
AFM I had my routine appointment yesterday, and the (new) doctor said it was time for me to start coming every two weeks. I'm 26 weeks. They start that at 28 weeks... so I assumed I could come back at 30. I work SO far away it's impossible for me to go to an appointment without missing work. Blah. This one I'm okay as I scheduled it for Christmas Eve when we are closed anyway... but I can't believe we are at every 2 weeks!

Not exactly an appointment, but I started my home glucose monitoring today (in lieu of drinking the Glucola--7 days of this hell instead bc of my stupid IBS-D), and it took me so many tries the first time to get it right. I kept getting error messages, and then I cried (my ability to control my emotions in the morning is garbage WITHOUT being pregnant), and then DH helped me and we did it! The next two times I was on my own, and the first time when fine--the second time I had to prick twice bc I didn't get enough blood the first time, but I didn't waste the cartidges this time bc I knew it wasn't enough blood. Here's hoping that tonight goes well, and that I get the hang of it.
I'm gonna add a question to the questions thread regarding this, so if anyone has any experience monitoring glucose or knows someone who has had to OR is a nurse or something lol I'd appreciate any insight!
Had my 28 wk/glucose test appointment today. I thought the drink would be a lot worse than it was, but I guess it's better to expect the worst and be pleasantly surprised! I've been told that I will hear something within 5 days if I failed, but won't hear anything if I passed, so the next five days are going to be a blast!
Because I'm considered high risk, I have been scheduled to be induced. Looks like little man will be here in the middle of February now! 😱
@heyahelmett Aw man, sorry about that! I've been doing fingerpricks all week for mine, in lieu of the 1 hour one they can do at the office, and I have one reading where it's super high but everything else is within range. Hopefully I won't have to do the 3 hour one because of that--but I super hope you pass the 3 hour one!
So I did my glucose test and CBC on Saturday morning. I can tell it was sent to my doctor. I hate that LabCorp won't just share it with me immediately. I'm not concerned enough to call, but I would like to see them!
@heyahelmett Aw man, sorry you failed the glucose test and have to do the 3-hour one. That's a bummer! FX the 3-hour one goes better and you pass!!
Good luck to you too @miss.sally during your 3-hour one!!
@kagesstarshroom Ugh, finger pricks SUCK. How long do you have to do them and monitor yourself for?
@EmilyLove25 That is super annoying that the lab won't share your score immediately. I know for me, I was able to check my lab results online the next morning, which was super nice because I got my test done on Friday afternoon and didn't hear from my doctor until Monday evening to let me know that I passed. I already knew I passed though because I was able to check online. Seems unfair that you can't do that! I hope you get the results back soon and it's all perfect!
@heyahelmett I had to take the 3 hour test twice and I found out today I passed! FX you pass.
@miss.sally Good luck on your 3 hour. Making the time to go to Labcorp for 3 hours really does suck
@EmilyLove25 I signed up for Labcorp to let me view my results also. It sucks that they send it to your provider first and then release it to you at a later date. Luckily, my doctor has been pretty consistent with posting my results on there portal pretty quickly. FX you passed and your CBC comes back good.
@Malidocious Tomorrow is the last day! 4x a day--but I only have three strips left-- I only needed 28 but the kit I bought came with 50. I have just not been great at knowing when it's enough blood. I had just enough left until tonight's last prick--oops. Oh well.
