Explain taco soup to me.

You ladies keep talking about it.  I have some ground beef thawing and need an idea of what to do with it.

I make mine with chicken

1/2 medium onion, chopped
2 (15 ounce) cans black beans
1 (15 ounce) can whole kernel corn, drained
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle beer or 12 ounces chicken broth
2 (10 ounce) cans diced tomatoes with green chilies, undrained (Rotel brand)
1 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning
2 whole skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut in half (about 1 pound)

I brown 1 lb of ground beef and some diced onion.  I then add the ground beef to a 4 qrt pot.  I add 1 can of diced tomatoes, 1 can shoepeg corn, 1 can beans ( I use red kidney beans or pinto beans), 1 packet taco seasoning, and 1 packet ranch seasoning.  Warm all ingrediants and serve.

I make mine thicker and use tortilla chips to eat it:

Large can of diced tomatoes

1 lb ground beef

1 can fiesta corn 

1 can corn

2 packs taco seasoning

med chopped onion

1 can of chili beans

Pretty much this, works great in a crock pot too. I love to bulk mine up and end up throwing in lots more corn and lots more beans. Yum!

Enjoy with tortilla chips (DH loves it with cornbread), a little sour cream and cheese! (If anyone in your family can have any of that... I always forget what all allergies you guys have!)
