@rox7777 that's what I really don't understand about those posts. Why do you want a bunch of strangers to be guessing this anyway? I just don't get the appeal.
I can barely tell what I’m looking at on an ultrasound photo, unless it’s a very obvious outline of a baby. Boggles my mind that anyone could look and say oh yeah that’s definitely a penis
I haven’t used a GIF in a long time on TB mostly because I’m lazy but I’m highly considering it for that post...
@soprano19 I am amused at how every day is “the biggest day of the hearing” so I’ll just keep watching the dog and pony show. I don’t really have feelings over it yet.
I called my insurance company because my prenatal blood tests were listed out of network and were about $500 more than when I had Dd two years ago for the same stuff. They said it was because of increases in costs and it wasn't actually billed out of network. I also asked why I was billed for two ultrasounds with the specialist when I only had one and one of them were completely covered and the other wasn't and I was told that they bill for the Dr who did it as well as the hospital as a facility charge and then she told me actually the Dr shouldn't have been covered and she'll have to have that fixed because I should have to pay that as part of my deductible.
Maybe baby better stick around because I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up using up my entire deductible by January and with dd I didn't until her delivery (my plan runs July to June so I'm only halfway through it)
In better news it looks like my panorama test that was billed for $3,900 is going to be covered in full.
@jhysmath I hate dealing with insurance, it always ends up ruining my day. Is your deductible a big difference from your out of pocket max? I think with my insurance my deductible is my out of pocket max.
Insurance is a PITA no matter how you slice it. I think by the time baby is born I will have hit my max 3-4 years in a row plus a bunch of stuff that's just not covered at all. What is the point of having insurance when it doesn't ever seem to pay what you need it to and health care still costs and arm and a leg/
@mamaj1220 I think there's a 2k window between deductible and oop max what sucks the most is we had great insurance which sold cover all maternity 100% the year before we had dd but we are in a small pool of people for ours like less than 200 people, and we've had some catastrophic illnesses, 3 of the people fought cancer for awhile before dying from it, one accidentally caught himself on fire and was in a burn unit for a very long time, so our school district moved us to a 3k deductible to save costs it's really crazy how much you don't appreciate good insurance until you actually have to pay.
@pirateduck I must say I am happy that I'm paying the insurance negotiated prices and not what the hospital originally billed because I would have hit my deductible already, my prenatal blood work came in at a 1.8k and my us would have been 2k for both of them together. Then my genetic testing would have been 4k too. I love how the Dr doesn't tell you the potential costs of something before doing it.
Originally due to the way my policy is written I was told I could see my RE as in network rates, but then the insurance company decided the RE would be billed as out of network instead, which basically meant 100% of costs were out of pocket, that plus the $4000 deductible once transferring back to an OB means a lot of expense this year.
I just want to give a shout out to any and everyone on here that teaches K-12. I teach at a University but it’s nothing compared to grade school.Your job is so important but it’s often stressful and under appreciated. I can only imagine the extra stress of prepping for class and managing students while pregnant. Trying to keep the classroom under control while your body is going to mood swings and other physical sensations. You all are the real MVP. If you haven’t heard it lately, I appreciate you and the work you do!
Not to discount anyone else here. We all are still getting the job done while our bodies are making life. We’re all amazing and it still blows my mind to think about it. Like, how are we doing this? I don’t know but we’re doing this!
I just wanted to give a little shout out to teachers.
@drkoyya thank you from this teacher! I teach high school music and we just finished marching band season on Saturday, so in addition to my normal school day, I’ve been working 2 nights/week and Saturdays since August. Now we’re into the holiday season, which means extra concerts, parades, etc. on top of trying to be a normal human/parent and enjoy the holidays with my family. I spend most of my waking hours at school or thinking about school/students, and yet the only thing the rest of the world seems to focus on is how teachers have it so easy because we get “summers off” and stuff like that. It’s always nice to be appreciated for the work we actually do.
@drkoyya seriously - thank you. I definitely needed this after a really difficult week. My AP Lang kids have been harrassing me nonstop about their grades (which usually I am really good about - but pregnancy exhaustion is ugh) and I've had a few classes that have been so difficult to get through, but part of it is just being irritable and tired and I'm trying so hard to have the energy for my kids - but I know I'm falling short. We only have 12 school days left before winter break and I'm in survival mode. I'm just praying that I start to feel way better energy wise soon and can kickass 2nd semester. I love my job and I love my kids - but it's just hard.
Ummm anyone else do the DNA sneak peek test and totally almost pass out?
I don’t even know if my test is going to be accurate anymore! I had to go sit down with my head between my knees and slam some pickle juice to try not full on go down!
@bender29 fortunately my doctor has taken all my blood so far, but during fertility treatments the first time we had to do an injection at home was way nerve wracking.
@pirateduck we did IVF so I didn’t think a finger prick would be anything to bat an eye at! My mom and I have been so gung ho that these babies are boys we have even started calling them “the boys” so my mom paid for that mail in sneak peek test.
I didn’t realize I’d be required to fill a small vial with my blood via that finger prick! It was not my finest moment!
@drkoyya thank you from a 1st grade teacher 😊 I’m just happy I won’t be able to reach their shoes to tie soon. It’s the perfect excuse not to touch mysteriously wet laces lol 👟
I had a rough day. I went to see my client in the nursing home, where he was listed as rehab but the doctor and I talked after because I was working on getting a placement for him in the next month or so and she told me that they are expecting him to go downhill quick and he will be long term when insurance allows for that code (30 days) and he will not be leaving. It kind of broke my soul and I am not sure if I am in the right profession now, I sobbed in my car after.
@chewie5990 in in the same boat I'm so behind on grading because I'm just so exhausted I can't get anything done after school. My dual enrollment kids keep asking about their last test. I've graded 2 quizzes since then, I just can't get through all the partial credit proofs get.
@drkoyya I needed to hear that today. I’m on a week break now but on Friday we had a fire drill, an earthquake drill, a birthday, and trying to finish our turkey hats so my cute little kinders could have something cute for thanksgiving. It was a crazy day. Luckily now I’m in my bed doing face masks with DD. It’s super cute but those darn sheet masks add up fast.
@drkoyya Thank you! I teach high school choir and was out on medical leave for HG for all of October. Now our concert is in three weeks and I am panicking! I appreciate the pat on the back!
