@stassischroeder Ha! So true! It's weird though, I would never say "Coke" at a restaurant unless I wanted an actual Coke. But we may say, "What kind of Coke do you have?" It's weird!
Where I'm from almost everyone says "soda." I don't think I have ever heard people from around here call it pop. We say soda and then specify what kind of soda we would want.
@mrsvp614 Being new to Louisiana, this was a new one to me. It really boggles my mind! But I also love learning about linguistic/dialect differences that are often regional.
This is an old post but I’m bored so I’ll jump in. Canadians say “pop” and it’s awesome! MY American friends would say soda a lot and it sounded so formal to my ears
