Shared this is WTO, but figured I'd share it here too so everyone can have a good laugh: 

We carved pumpkins with my mother in law on Friday night and the results were hilarious! I'm not sure when the last time she carved a pumpkin was, but she was not able to follow her pattern very well. The whole time she kept saying "ohh you poor pumpkin" and we thought she was just being dramatic. It was supposed to be a cat with a witch's hat...

@feather_heather hahaha that is epic! My MiL does that every year! This year she literally sat there and said “oh no! I wasn’t supposed to carve that part out!” 😂 Hers is the spider with the incorrect number of legs. It’s actually an improvement over the year she just gave up and carved an open hole. 😂

Does anyone shop on Etsy? If so, what are your favorite/go-to items or gifts from there?

@kpearse99 I love Etsy for personalized jewelry! I got my SiL a necklace with her LOs' initials and birthstones. I also got my friend whose dog passed away a comemmorative necklace with the pup's name and angel wings.

@kpearse99 I’d echo @mvt2003 on anything personalized. I got DH an embossed leather toiletry bag for traveling with his name and I did all my wedding party gifts on Etsy. Also great for getting quotes on canvas or screen printing. They have tons of Christmas doodahs, stockings and such.

@mvt2003 and @rachelredhead pretty much what I use it for too    Just starting to think of xmas gifts for people (which is so stressful) and was looking for new ideas!  Those ones are great, so thank you My SIL loves jewelry and MH could maybe use a new travel case so that's a great idea too!

@kpearse99 I did my wedding flowers on Etsy (these are a combo of silk and wood). So I highly recommend floral arrangements too.

@kpearse99 thanks! My mom was appalled I wanted no real flowers but my bouquet looks the same today as it did on our wedding day 18+ months ago. No regrets! I use it as a centerpiece sometimes. But I’ve thought of ordering a smaller one with more Christmasy colors for holiday dinners.

@kpearse99 It's hands-down the scariest villain in the Doctor Who universe IMO! Weeping Angels are statues that come to life, but only when you're not looking at them.

I need some help!

My office allows costumes on Halloween. Now I'm not one to go out and buy a costume so the last 2 years I've used stuff that I just happen to have at home.

Year 1 I was a competitive swimmer - I still sorta fit into my high school competition suit and wore my warm-up suit over it with the swim cap and goggles on my head.

Last year I wore my hedgehog onesie because everybody loves Pinecone and I was super uncomfortable in my swimsuit the year before.

So what should I do this year? Got any good ideas of things you've thrown together to make a costume? I only have today and tomorrow to gather supplies 😬

@inthewoods23 I dressed up as Mary Poppins for a school event one year. Black skirt and tights, white shirt, and I tied a little red ribbon in a bow at my neck. I also got a bowler hat at the party store and glued some fake daisies to it. It was really cute!

@inthewoods23 last year I went as Jane Goodall, dressed in explorer-ish neutral toned clothes, wore binoculars, and had a couple stuffed monkeys velcroed to my arm. My DH has a monkey costume so that’s what sparked the idea, along with the Goodall National Geographic cover story. Would have been truer to form if it had been a gorilla but it was still cute and fun.

if you want something silly, I once dressed in generic sportswear, painted my face, bought Pom poms, and wrote CEILING on my shirt and carried a sign that said GO CEILING. Yup. A Ceiling Fan.

I was minnie mouse this year at the dance studio for my class's halloween party - super easy! Black tights, Red Skirt with white polka dots (you can cut out white dots from paper and stick them on), a black top and minnie ears I already had!
