Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out for sure!

How are you feeling? Mostly ok. But *TW* after 2 miscarriages this year I am so nervous! I just really want to know everything is okay. 

Physically, I'm having waves of nausea, sore boobs, some tugging/pulling feelings. 

Raves/Rants: My DS has been really wanting a sibling for awhile now. He doesn't know about any of my other PG's this year and I don't plan to tell him until im further along but he is so cute about babies right now. He brings home a new book every week from school and this past week it was a book about a boy whose parents just had a baby and they were taking all his old baby stuff and giving it to the new baby. The boy was mad at first but by the end was happy and helping. After we read it I asked him how he'd feel about a baby and he said that he would love it so much and share all his toys. My heart just about melted. 

My rant though is I hate that the progesterone suppositories are making me have spotting/discharge. The nurses at my RE office have assured me up and down this is normal and nothing to worry about but I feel like I'm freaking out every time I go to the bathroom which is pretty often seeing I have to pee every two seconds.

GTKY: What are you giving out for Halloween?
We just moved into a new house over summer and it's a really nice family neighborhood so I bet we get lots of trick and treaters. I bought a big bag of candy I think it has twix, kit kat, milky way and snickers. I wanted something that we would eat too. I'm allergic to peanuts so my DS will eat the snickers and the rest we both like.

Upcoming appointments: I haven't scheduled my OB intake yet.  My OB office doesn't see us until 10 weeks and I'm waiting for my masters thesis to be turned in before I start filling up the calendar again. 

How are you feeling? It's been 3 days since my BFP and it's finally settling in that this is real! I have mild first tri symptoms but the fatigue hit me like a truck last night, but overall I'm excited and hopeful. *TW* Letting myself be excited early on is such a nice change from my first pregnancy. IF made us super anxious about everything last time.*/TW*

Raves/Rants:  Rant -- trying to revise 200 pages without coffee. Rave -- I think my DS is going to make the best big brother.  

Questions: 

GTKY: What are you giving out for Halloween?  Whatever I pick up at the last minute next week. I'm pre-diabetic with a terrible sweet tooth, so I really can't have it in the house for more than a couple days. But I'm more excited to take my almost-2 out trick or treating as a tiny dino. Rawr!

Upcoming appointments: Not until Nov 13th...so far away!

How are you feeling?: Pretty good, which in and of itself is making me anxious. Mostly bloating, gas (thankfully not smelling, though last night the cat kept getting scared by my farts which was amusing), minor cramping, sore breasts, and some occasional nausea (usually when I'm getting hungry). 

Raves/Rants: Rave: Went on a daycare tour this morning and it got me really excited. (I'm only partially crazy, child care around here has 12-24mo wait lists for infants) Rant: I can't help but worry that since I've signed up for daycare wait lists so early I've "jinxed" the pregnancy.

Questions: So many, but none specifically come to mind right now

GTKY: What are you giving out for Halloween? Usually I buy a bunch of variety packs (must include KitKats and Reeses). Will buy them this weekend, if I got them any earlier we'd eat them all

@akoros It's crazy how early you need to get on daycares in some areas. Did you like the one you saw?

@hanshotfirst77 I did! Looked like a good facility, happy staff, happy kids. Admittedly this is the first one I've looked at so it's hard to judge, but overall seemed fairly flexible and I like that they have a lactation room so you can come in to breastfeed during the day if you want to. Location almost can't be beat, it's across the street from work (though our buildings are connected by a tunnel). I say "almost" because there's also a daycare actually in my building, but I haven't had a chance to tour that one yet.

Upcoming appointments: Doctors appointment tomorrow where she’ll likely also get more blood from me

How are you feeling? I have a head cold so that’s not helping. But fatigued and sore boobs, mostly. 

Raves/Rants: Rant to mandatory overtime all week. I’m exhausted.

GTKY: What are you giving out for Halloween?
The last couple years we’ve had 4-6 kids so full size chocolate bars

How are you feeling? 
Excited and nervous! I've not had much of an appetite, but I've been craving salad and tomato juice. My boobs hurt SO bad. I'm also having alot of round ligament pain.

Raves/Rants: 
We told my 2 year old daughter that I have a baby in my belly. Shell randomly pull my shirt up, pat my belly and say "momma baby". Sometimes she even waves at my belly and today she kissed it. ❤️

Questions: 
I'm craving salt so bad! I'm trying not to give in too much but I'm having a hard time! Is anyone else wanting to just turn the salt shaker up? Lol

GTKY: What are you giving out for Halloween?
We wont be handing out candy this year. We will actually be taking my daughter trick or treating 😊

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Going for the surprise! I'd actually rather find out but my husband really wants the surprise.

Upcoming appointments: Ultrasound on Nov. 7.... such a long wait, ugh! 

How are you feeling? Exhausted, irritable, and constipated but thankfully not much nausea yet. 

Raves/Rants: My rant is mostly whining about how my due date is the latest of the whole group so far and I'm so jealous of the ultrasound thread! I'm not a patient person I guess, but I want my poppy seed to be an apple seed already! 

GTKY: What are you giving out for Halloween? Mixed bag, but Reese's are mandatory.

@akoros that sounds like a good place. And one in your building too that would be super convenient. With my DS the daycare I chose was right down the street from work and it was so nice having it so close.

Upcoming appointments: Dating Ultrasound on November 25th. Sooo far away ugh. 😩

How are you feeling? Pretty good actually just tired a lot and had some minor cramping. I’m excited but nervous. 

Raves/Rants: I’m sooo excited to give my Step daughter a brother or sister. She’s almost 10. Bigger age gap then I had wanted but she will be very excited. We haven’t told her yet and will be waiting awhile till we do so. She just loves babies and is so good with them so, she will be a big help when he/she is born. 

Questions: None for now. I’m sure many as I go along. 

GTKY: Were not handing out candy at all cause we won’t be home. We will be out with My step daughter taking her around to get candy lol 

@cricket628 aww I feel ya. My due date is only a couple days before yours lol, I'm not a patient person either so I want my poppy seed to be an apple seed too haha. So jealous you get your ultrasound Nov 7th way before mine. I don’t get mine till almost the end of the month ☹️ 

@mommallama17 aww omg your daughter sounds sooo cute ❤️ Also, I feel ya on the salt shaker lol. I find myself wanting to add more salt to things or just wanting to eat salty foods in general.

How are you feeling? tired and hungry. The nausea actually hasn’t been bad at all. Hoping it stays this way. 

Raves/Rants: Raves- I feel so incredibly excited to be in this June group! Rant- why is figuring out your due date super confusing....

Questions: if you LMP was 9/18... what is your due date?

How are you feeling? Really good, some occasional nausea but otherwise good now the super sore boobs has passed

Raves/Rants: DS looked at me the other day and said "you have a baby in your tummy"  but we hadn't told him yet.  So now he knows and is super excited about the baby. He has been asking for a sibling for over 6 months now.

GTKY: What are you giving out for Halloween? Nothing, we live in a super rural area and dont get tricker treaters

@togmama your due date would be correct at June 24th, 2020. Your due 2 days before me as my LMP was sept 20th. So I’m due June 26th 2020.

EDD: June 23 (5+1) almost 2 as it’s getting close to midnight. I get so excited every day we add!

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out!

Upcoming appointments: haven’t made it yet. Using the same doctor as I did with my almost 5 year old daughter. Back then I went in at 4.5 weeks, they did a urine test and told me to come back at 8 for an ultrasound. So I’ll just schedule one for the week of November 11.

How are you feeling? 
Like crap! I got a cold shortly after finding out at 4 weeks exactly. It seems to be easing up finally but I also have had tender breasts, heartburn, and woke up with symptoms of a stomach bug the other day. Didn’t feel like morning sickness though but who knows. It didn’t last long. 

Raves/Rants: 
I have to work night shift for a week every 5 weeks, and my week is this week. Super hard with the pregnancy fatigue and no caffeine. This cold isn’t helping. BUT so stinking excited. Really looking forward to telling my daughter. She’s been begging for over a year. Also super busy planning her 5th birthday party next weekend!

GTKY: What are you giving out for Halloween? 
Ill be taking my dinosaur obsessed daughter trick or treating. She’s going to be one of those inflatable dinosaurs. It is SO cute!!

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green:  Not sure yet! I have a DS and DH has a DD so it would be a tie breaker baby and I think it would be fun to be a surprise but I’m not sure if DH could handle the suspense lol. He wants a boy and I want a girl but either way we’re happy.

How are you feeling? TIRED. So much fatigue. And my uterus is so sore, I’m assuming it’s round ligaments or something of the sort but after I get off of work my muscles down there ache so badly. 

Raves/Rants:  SOMEONE PLEASE TELL MY HUSBAND THAT I DO IN FACT NEED A NAP EVERY DAY RIGHT NOW.  He is driving me up the wall saying that I don’t need this much sleep. I’m cranky, I’m tired, I’m sore, and if I have time to take a nap I’m taking a nap! 

Questions: Not particularly. 

GTKY: What are you giving out for Halloween?  Nothing. We will be out the whole time. Trick or treating with the kids and then over to a friends for a Halloween Party.

How are you feeling? So far so good! I had a pretty smooth pregnancy with my daughter, so fingers crossed for another easy pregnancy. 

Raves/Rants: It’s so hard to keep the secret. I have two family weddings in November, way too early to tell people but my family will be suspicious af when I’m not drinking. Might hold a decoy glass of wine all night? 

Questions: Any tips for surviving two under two? The age gap between this baby and my daughter will only be 18 months... that hasn’t quite sunk in yet, any and all tips would be great. 

GTKY: What are you giving out for Halloween? We have tons of kids in our neighborhood, buying multiple bags of all things Hershey chocolate!

@booksbarrebaby Decoy glass of wine or ask for club soda with some lime. Looks like a gin & tonic (or vodka & soda). 

I may just give up and tell some friends on Thanksgiving. I was able to get away with it last weekend, but it'll be completely suspicious that I won't be partaking in any of their amazing South African wine during the dinner. Not to mention that I doubt my mother will be able to contain herself.

Question: I've seen several people mention no caffeine, is this just a personal preference or am I missing something? I was under the impression that we could have a little (200mg/day)?

@akoros I think this tends to be a personal preference. You are correct, I believe around 200mg a day is totally safe. Me personally, I had switched to decaf during TTC (but I also dealt with Infertility and loss and was literally willing to do anything that *might* help my chances) and recently just this past week I can't stomach coffee out of nowhere. And I usually love coffee. So some people may be staying away for that reason too.

*lurking in this week but @akoros personal preference! My OB said one cup a day is totally fine. With DS I cut it out completely, mainly because it made me super sick. This time around I can still stomach it and need it to function so I have it!

Thank you both! I thought so, but then started to second guess myself and got worried. I don't drink too much coffee (more than a cup or two will trigger a migraine), but have been savoring that sweet sweet cup I do have

@akoros Yep. Seconding what others have said: personal preference. I'm finding it hard to manage 4am toddler wake ups, grad school, and first tri fatigue without an early cup of coffee. 

@booksbarrebaby Lots of mixed drinks look exactly the same as a virgin version. If the wedding has a bartender, they can probably make you something delicious and festive so you don't feel like you're missing out either! You can also say you're a DD, and they'll usually look out for you

@booksbarrebaby I survived a wedding secretly pregnant. Just drank “rum” and cokes all night! Vodka & cranberry would be another good option too, especially since cranberry juice has a strong enough flavour that even if somebody took a sip they probably wouldn’t know.

Let the bartender know what’s going on and they’ll pretend to pour your drinks.

Team finding out: Yes! Will likely find out on our NIPT screen around 12 weeks

Next appointment: Going to get a dating ultrasound on Nov 13th at 8 weeks. Feels like the longest wait ever!!! But then the wait after that until 12 weeks will also feel like an eternity..

How I'm feeling: Soooo tired/fatigued/ crampy, super sore nipples and breast tenderness 

Rants: Its just so all consuming when you're waiting for your scans and trying to get through the first 12 weeks. Its rough! And I hate hiding it from people and worrying about someone calling me out for not drinking in a social setting. (People seriously need to just not do that!) 

Questions: My boobs havent been quuiite as sore the past couple days. Do other people find that their symptoms kind of ebb and flow? 

Halloween: We live in the top 2 floors of a house and it's a bit of a long trek to the front door so I think we'll be turning the lights down low and watching some kind of halloween movie! (But nothing too scary haha)

How are you feeling? Everyday is different. Some days are great and then others are filled with morning sickness and headaches. And the pulling/cramps are enjoyable as well. Oh and the bloat. That is so real! But overall I’m doing pretty good. 

Raves/Rants: nothing much. We just told our immediate family recently, so that was exciting. 

Questions: What medicine can we take for headaches? Those are brutal sometimes and I know there is going to be a day where I can’t power through. 

GTKY: What are you giving out for Halloween? We will actually be out of town for Halloween.

For everyone needing a drink trick: I have went and found the bartender or server and just whispered to them what’s up. They will take care of you! Tip them nicely I just survived a tailgate by having a “mimosa” - aka just orange juice.

@blackgirlmagic good luck with the wedding! I think bartenders get these requests pretty often so it should be easy!

@lookonthesunnyside I find the soreness comes and goes too. It’s always there a little bit but some days I can’t even cross my arms and others it only hurts if I’m really putting pressure on them.

@blackgirlmagic for headaches you can take Tylenol or extra strength Tylenol. It’s totally safe during pregnancy. You want to avoid Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve, aspirin etc. I hope your headaches go away.

Oh and we just told people that I was doing a cleanse and just stuck to water the whole night.
