I keep checking back in to see the poll results. The boys were ahead for so long it seemed, but now the girl numbers are just blowing them out of the water. It will be interesting to see if we end up with closer to a 50/50% ratio by the end!
My doctor now knows the sex, but my husband and I don't have the results yet...
I also keep checking thinking my green vote will have to even it out to more 50/50 right? Cant wait to see.
Our Journey:
Me: 40 TTC since 2017 3/18-9/18- IUI's 11/18- IVF #1 1/19- IVF #2 8/19- DE Cycle #1- 5 PGS tested normal 9/19- FET #1- SUCCESS! May 2020 10/21- FET #2- SUCCESS! July 2022
I could use some encouragement. I guess I’m doubtful with the accuracy of an ultrasound determining gender at only 15 weeks. The doctor did not discuss this image directly with me. He put it in an envelope for me to share it with my husband at home. But he did say “the genitalia is at the first letter of the gender word. What you see after that is the umbilical cord.“ I’m obviously not a trained professional, but I can not differentiate those things with this view between the legs. Thoughts?
Edit to include introduction: Sorry, I must have two accounts. The community portion of bump is sort of wonky on the app. I introduced myself very early on in my pregnancy in a previous thread, but have since not been active in the community since. My name is Cory, I am a high school special education teacher in Pennsylvania. This is my second pregnancy, due 5/6/19. My daughter will turn three next month!
@Clmarques Hi and welcome. I see this is your first post. If you could please introduce yourself and look around the pinned threads to get acquainted with our community. Feel free to jump in and get to know us better.
As for the ultrasound, from the little bit I know about ultrasounds and distinguishing genitalia this shot is not the right angle to determine the sex. You really need an in between the legs shot (not a profile) and you are looking for 3 white parallel lines for a girl and a boy would not have that. Maybe that is an in between the legs shot, I don't really know. However I am not a professional, I would recommend confirming the sex at your anatomy scan around 20 weeks.
@Clmarques if your US appointments are anything like mine the tech/dr is moving the wand all around looking at all kinds of things. It’s possible it was clear to the dr when looking around but that this is just the best of the printed pics that were shared with you. I feel like they print profile pics for us because in those it usually most obviously looks like a baby and it’s relatively clear to the untrained eye what we are looking at
@clamarques We went for an extra ultrasound to find out the sex and we were told it’s the profile where they find out, because the pelvic bones develop at different angles. Then they confirm with the between the legs shot. Take it with a grain of salt because it wasn’t an ultrasound tech, it was a nurse, but they’ve been correct for the 8 other babies I know that found out there too. Plus they better be right because I already ordered a personalized name swaddle for this baby!
I’m in disbelief!!! My sneak peek result came back as GIRL! After 2 beautiful healthy boys I get to try being a girl mom and it makes my heart feel so full and grateful.
The ultrasound tech blurted out, without asking if I wanted to know, that we will be having identical twin boys! So far I’m batting 1000, because I was convinced they were twins, and also have been convinced they were boys since the day they confirmed a successful FET! I’m about to go buy some lottery tickets!
Third baby, third team green baby. We have a boy and girl at home already, so we're super happy for any sex.

We opened the gift this morning! It’s a BOY!!! I’m excited, but mostly shocked. I think overall I was leaning towards it being a girl, mainly because I wanted a boy a little more than another girl so I thought that would be my luck.
I am excited to get to experience being a boy mom too, since this will likely be our last.
It’s official, our tiebreaker baby is a girl! DH was hoping for a boy since he was the middle sibling between 2 sisters and wanted our son to have a brother, but we are happy for a healthy baby
We are having a boy!! DH and I were guessing that baby was a boy since the beginning. I had begun to prepare myself for the idea that it could be a girl and got excited for the dresses and bows, but knowing it's a boy now, I can't wait for the bowties, bugs and getting to teach him to be a gentleman and treat the ladies right. It feels SO GOOD to finally know for certain and now we can truly begin the name search.
I filled in the poll ages ago, but don’t think I ever posted that we are having a girl! Hubby is finally warming up to the idea, just praying for a healthy babe at this point. We agreed on a boy name forever, but now it’s back to the drawing board.
