Baby is the size of a(n): Grapefruit (which is larger than coconut?...)
Upcoming appointments: 24 week 10/23
How are you feeling?: Waddley and heartburn/acid reflux have started. Drinking water isn't safe anymore.
Raves/Rants: This child is so big and active and it's really really validating! Vegan diet, crossfitting regularly, and issues with gaining weight- if you get a small baby everyone blames you. I hope he continues to measure ahead, and we're loving being able to see and feel him moving so soon!
Questions: Anyone in belly bands for support yet? I wore mine this morning, but if I need it this early I'm wondering if an even more heavy duty one for later would be helpful.
GTKY: What’s your favorite holiday dish to make or eat? To eat I love love love my Nana's tamales, homemade cheeseball, and pecan pie! To make I love garlic mashed potatoes with borderline too much garlic plus covered in scallions.
How are you feeling?: Okay, still some bouts of nausea, starting to feel quite uncomfortable all of the time LOL.
Raves/Rants: My SIL is three weeks behind me and they just had their gender reveal this weekend and they're also having a girl! So exciting to have little BFFs . Also ordered a pregnancy pillow so super stoked for that to show up haha.
Questions: Shower question... if we nvite kids - do I only invite the females? Quite confused? LOL.
GTKY: What’s your favorite holiday dish to make or eat? Love me some eggnog... even though that's a drink lol. Also not really holiday dish but DH and I have steaks and eggs for Christmas morning breakfast which usually makes me super happy LOL.
@craftywitch I wore my bellyband this morning and it felt good until I sat down, baby girl was just kicking away at it so I ended up taking it off haha. Which one do you have? Also your foods sound super great, especially those mashed potatoes!
@brookert615 I have a super cheap velcro band support belt- not sure what brand it was originally as now it doesn't have any tags or labels left. I saw people posting about ones that have suspenders and that go over and under the belly for extra support. I'll definitely wait and see, but it seems like 40 weeks is going to be more hurty this time haha.
Baby is the size of a(n): Babies are the size of an avocado
Upcoming appointments: I just had an apt Thurs. Next apt is Oct 29th with my family doctor before hopefully being referred to a Canadian high risk OB
How are you feeling? : I'm feeling on a high... we announced our triplets on FB on the weekend which was lovely. I am busy getting ready to move so having stress and tiredness and not sleeping at night. I'm also getting heart palpitations (beating hard not fast) periodically throughout the day especially if I'm getting stressed. My blood pressure is also elevated so I need to monitor it once a week now.
Raves/Rants: Had a panic thurs after my apt because I thought 1 baby was a week behind me and I had high blood pressure at my apt. Turns out I looked at the wrong number and misunderstood my doctor/husband and baby 3 is measuring on track with me! Baby 1 and 2 are 3 and 4 days ahead.
Questions: not now
GTKY: What’s your favorite holiday dish to make or eat? I love Mince pies at Christmas time. I'm the only one in my immediate family who likes them so I get 6 to myself. I also love toasted Turkey sandwiches after Christmas and yummy Turkey curry!
@craftywitch I bought a belly band about a month ago. I was experiencing uterus stretching between 10-13weeks because of the triplets. I was expecting to also be much larger than I am now (I still only have a small bump for 3... but doctor says it will start to get bigger now). I've been trying to avoid using it so I dont become dependent on it. But now after standing/walking I do feel my back arching. Planning on using it next 2 weeks especially during a road trip. When I tried it on the change in support was immediate and incredible!
@ACAC25 That's a good point about getting dependent on a support... Also glad all 3 babies are on track- I kind of can't want to hear about 3 babies moving! That's going to be wild!
@brookert615, you can invite anyone you want. You could do female adults and female kids or female adults and all kids. You could do kids over a certain age. You could also invite males. I’d think about who would actually want to be there and invite those people.
@craftywitch I also read you shouldnt wear it for too long at a time (just a few hours) and really only for walking/standing not sitting. Hope this helps! Tbh I have started to feel them move a little. Sometimes it feels like tapping and other times it's like a dull/sharp discomfort if that makes sense. Right now I typically only feel one at a time and not too intense. Itll be interesting to see how this changes in the upcoming weeks. I cant wait for DH to be able to feel them!
@craftywitch Yes to the belly band. I wear it primarily when I run, but I also had an achey day when I was cleaning out a closet when I wound up feeling overtaxed and wore it the rest of the day.
Baby is the size of a(n): tall as a Mr. Potato Head
Upcoming appointments: a couple weeks for the glucose thing.
How are you feeling? : I have energy! Got in a good quick mile run this morning and another 1.5 mi walking, followed by a great gym session. Maybe I’m just super excited to feel human after last week’s terrible stomach bug 🤢 Oh and someone mentioned indigestion I think? It’s got me too.
Raves/Rants: This past weekend my husband and I got away to a cabin in the mountains. It was amazing! Trying to cherish the solo time now before babe arrives. We even booked one last getaway for December on the drive home.
Questions:
GTKY: What’s your favorite holiday dish to make or eat? My friend’s mom growing up made a peanut butter pie with graham cracker crust and chocolate ganache topping. I *love* it. I even got her recipe to make it when I moved out of the country.
Baby is the size of a(n): Weighs as much as a soup can
Upcoming appointments: Oct. 29th
How are you feeling? : Sleeping is getting harder again. I am just resigned that I will never sleep well again. My right boob pretty much leaks everyday! Gah!
Raves/Rants: I still am loving Crazy Bread!
Questions: Is anyone else's boob leaking?
GTKY: What’s your favorite holiday dish to make or eat? It's not a holiday dish per se but my DH's family is Italian and my MIL makes amazing lasagna that we get for holidays.
How are you feeling? : Not too bad. Having trouble sleeping Raves/Rants:
Questions:
GTKY: What’s your favorite holiday dish to make or eat? Everything. My moms stuffing and gravy. My in laws are Italian so they do fish on Christmas Eve. It’s like a 5 hour meal with multiple courses.
How are you feeling? My sciatica has become so bad that I got stuck in one position when putting the OR back together yesterday. And then during a staff emergency I couldn’t even run down the hall. I had to stop because my legs felt like they were going to give out under me due to severe pain. The pain now extends all the way down to my ankle.
Raves/Rants: Yay for being in my new house! Booooo to still unpacking ☹️
GTKY: Pecan pie!! I have the best family recipe with (my idea of) the perfect ratio of filling to pecans. YUM 😋
@burr1371 Not yet, but last time I was leaky pretty early so expecting it soon. Also feeling that itchy prickly feeling in the nipples so I think stuff is happening in there!
Baby is the size of a(n): bottle of Honest Tea? I had to google it.
Upcoming appointments: Hopefully we know soon? I got a referral from insurance for an OBGYN in our new town and I called their office today. They took down basic information and said they'd call back tomorrow about scheduling an intake/anatomy scan appointment.
How are you feeling? Pretty good. Enjoying the fact that the baby kicks all the time (or at least it feels that way).
Raves/Rants: Part of our furniture shipment was estimated to arrive today (according to the website), but we didn't get a phone call or email from the moving company saying that it was here. Guess we'll just keep rocking this empty house with an air mattress.
GTKY: We do homemade gyoza for breakfast on Xmas morning - I even put food coloring in the dough so they come out red and green. Not a traditional holiday breakfast, but SO delicious!
