IF Treatment and Testing Week of 10/14-10/20/19

Re: IF Treatment and Testing Week of 10/14-10/20/19

  • @emeraldduchess I did 5mg of letrozole and took (2) 2.5mg pills together in the evening. I think others have had different protocols though like 1 in the morning, 1 in the evening

@shoogapoff I really hate how meds can mess with our bodies! I felt the same wondering when the heck AF was going to show after stopping the PIO injections. On the suppositories I would get AF 3-4 days later but on the injections it took 7. I hate wondering if I should preemptively put protection on or not. Hope AF shows soon for you so you know where your cycle is!

  • @emeraldduchess sorry for the BFN, but I have a great feeling that IUI will work for you! I took both letrozole pills at the same time. I had zero side effects, although I took them in the evenings and had a terrible cold, so I was miserable anyway.

@beckylookatherbump yeah, they mentioned my intestines were in the way the first time. 😬

@shoogapoff booo to your weird cycle, I know the feeling of wanting AF to come if it's a bust. I'm the same - short cycles and so CD29 would drive me nuts.

  • @jennifer_louise yay for scheduling the IUI! Hope timing works out perfectly!! Fingers crossed so hard for you!

@mvt2003 yay for getting the SA taken care of! Hope you get results quickly and can get a plan in place before next cycle!

@emeraldduchess so sorry friend! 💜 Hope the IUI is a success though! I take 5mg (2 pills) at the same time, usually in the morning. Side-effects haven’t been too bad, a headache or two and some night sweats mostly. Hope you don’t have any with it!

@shoogapoff so sorry for the confusion!! Hope AF shows soon so you can move on, or better yet, hope you get a BFP instead!
  • @emeraldduchess So sorry for the BFN. When this cycle finally gets going for me, I will be doing letrozole/IUI as well, so hopefully we can be cycle buddies!
  • @emeraldduchess I'm instructed to take both pills (well, now I'm up to 3 pills) at the same time and to take them at the same time every day too.  I take mine at night before bed and I've had zero side effects.  I started out with 1 pill, then this past cycle did 2 and not I'm up to 3 pills... ugh I hope this is IT for both of us, girl!!

  • Thanks, ladies. From what I read taking them at night lets you sleep through side effects. I'm feeling pretty down about the whole thing. *TW LC/loss*
That BFN was an extra-hard slap in the face since my SIL is visiting this weekend with her baby. Really nice, universe. As if this isn't going to be hard enough.
@mvt2003 I hope you get those results back soon!
  • @emeraldduchess Sorry for the BFN. I took the two Clomid pills at the same time. I hope the IUI works for you and that you have a good visit this weekend.
@shoogapoff Hoping you get some answers soon.  <3

  • So ladies now that I’ve had a chance to look over my blood work, what does having a low FSH mean or has anyone had any experience with it? My FSH was 4.6 mid cycle. I read it should be like 30-50.
  • @beckylookatherbump I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you, but I hope your doc can clarify. Do you have an appointment coming up to go over results? In my experience googling results just leads down a scary rabbit hole.

Has anyone done IUI without the trigger shot? I'm reading the packet from my RE and it says nothing about it.
  • Thank you to everyone who responded to my question. I’m on another intense work trip where there’s no time to respond on here except to love-tit, so I really apologize for writing all that detail on the plane and then going silent!

@emeraldduchess Sorry about the bfn. I’ve done an IUI with no trigger at all, just the natural timing of the cycle. *TW: it worked well. End TW* FX for you, very exciting!

@beckylookatherbump sorry I don’t have an answer for you about the FSH. Definitely ask your doctor. But in general, lower FSH means better ovarian function or better ovarian reserve. It really depends when specifically mid-cycle it was tested to know what it means (before or after ovulation etc).

@shoogapoff Sorry for the frustrating cycle. Hope it all becomes clear soon.

@mvt2003 Yay for checking of the SA!

@kpearse99 That sounds like such a great follow-up doctor’s appointment! Glad you got to ask your in-depth questions. I’d still do the progesterone if I were you based on the comments made by others. Like, will you regret it if you don’t do it?

@inthewoods23 I’m sorry it’s been so rough. It’s so good that you have the vacation planned. I hope you’re able to really take time off from the stress of all this.

@emmasemm Thank you so much for commenting. I did not remember that you’d had low estradiol so your response is super helpful. I’m going to message you as soon as I have a chunk of time.

Gotta run to my next meeting. Enjoy your weekend, everyone!

  • @keikilove please let that be true. I just need one part of my baby making system to work properly lol. And I’m still waiting on an RE appointment so thought I’d see if you girls knew.
  • @emeraldduchess i have not but my RE does check my levels to determine if I am ready to O on my own or if I’ll need the trigger.  Not sure if that helps at all 🤷🏻‍♀️

  • Thanks, @kpearse99. I am going to call on Monday to check in since there's nothing about monitoring in the info packet.  I don't always get blazing positive OPKs so I am going to ask about monitoring via blood test.
  • @emeraldduchess I think it’s a good idea to call. I feel like with an IUI they have to monitor you and your O, via blood work and ultrasound, how else would they get the timing right? And know how mature your follies were? 🤔 keep us posted!

  • @kpearse99 I will. :) The packet on the clinic'a IUI protocol that they gave us was pretty vague, so I am going to need it explained better to me.
  • Started getting my hopes up for the beta tomorrow and then... womp womp. Temps don’t lie - and I took it twice.
