  • @kbrown2385 woah! Why so many NSTs?
  • @biolprof I’m considered high risk so with the nst’s they want to make sure the iugr and blood
flow issues aren’t affecting baby girls heart rate and movements. It’s just another level of monitoring them. I knew it was coming, just not this soon.
  • @kbrown2385 still 2X a week is a lot. I'm really curious what's coming down the pipeline for me. No idea what to expect being in limbo....
  • @biolprof i has to do it with my sons pregnancy as well. Thankfully my drs office is much closer than the previous one. You have another scan coming up soon for that, right?
  • @kbrown2385 I start 2 week appointments at 32 weeks which im thankful for. Between the twin appointments & endocrine appointments it was all getting a bit much so I completely understand how you feel
  • @kbrown2385 ultrasound on the 29th. I'm sure if it's ambiguous or clearly an issue there will be lots more appointments for me as well.
  • My marathon OB appt is today: 28 week checkup, follow up anatomy scan, and glucose screen. They gave me the glucose drink pretty much as soon as I walked in so I’m curious if it’s going to make the kiddo extra active for the upcoming anatomy scan. Currently just sitting in the waiting room twitching from the sugar rush.
  • @EmilyE13 i hope everythimg goes well for you today!
  • @EmilyE13 hope everything goes well today!
  • @leprechaunlady @persnickity Thank you! It went well and the little one behaved perfectly for measurements. She’s measuring 1 day ahead currently and was bouncing around like crazy after the glucose drink. Keeping fingers crossed I won’t have to do the 3 hr glucose test this time around.
  • @EmilyE13 so glad you had a great appt today!
  • @kbrown2385 yay for baby girl!! that's exciting!!

  • @kbrown2385 yay for the baby girl. She is certainly holding her own!

@EmilyE13 congrats on passing the 1 hr test! I imagine that's a huge relief!

  • @EmilyE13 Glad to hear the test went well for you today.  I had mine today and I hope I get the results soon.
I cried the whole way home from the appointment...not sure what that was about.  Maybe just a weird mix of relief from being this far, but also sadness that I haven't connected enough with this baby.

The weight gain thing is a whole other ball game.  I just have to accept that no matter what I do I am going to gain the same amount, which is around 50 pounds total.  It seems to be just what my body does no matter what I eat or how much I exercise.    I think I need to ask my providers to stop asking for my weight as it is very triggering to have to do it every time.
  • @marebear15 and @kbrown2385 Woohoo! Yay for passing the 1 hr.

@peppyj9 Good luck on your results! I’m so glad your little one’s heart looked good on the echocardiogram.
  • @peppyj9, Yeah, Carter's runs SMALL to begin with, but I learned after DD (a completely avg sized baby) to never buy newborn clothes or diapers! They only last for like 2 weeks at most.

Also, weight and size estimates can be way off...DD was estimated at 9.5-10lbs. She was 20" and 7lbs 14oz. DS1 was estimated at 6-7lbs. He was 22" and 7lbs13oz.
  • Im so glad to hear that @biolprof!
  • @biolprof that is great news! Will they do anymore monitoring just to make sure nothing changes between now and 39 weeks?
  • @biolprof that's great news!! :)

I failed my 1 hour glucose and now have to do the 3 hour 😭
  • @peppyj9 😭😭  The 3 hr isn't fun.  But hoepfully you'll pass that one! I failed the 1hr with my oldest, but passed the 3hr.  Mine is tomorrow.

  • @kbrown2385 I will see my OB to discuss next week. I just have the scan (with an awesome and helpful tech) and the report to go off of so we'll find out what the plan is. I imagine unless I have any other risk factors for anything else they won't need to do extra monitoring.

@peppyj9 while not fun lots of people don't pass the 1hr but do pass the 3hr so fingers crossed for you!

@noranorabobora from what I've heard US measurements can be quite off at times so hopefully just a measurement error.
  • @noranorabobora I meant to ask you how your Lovenox shots are going?! I feel like I'm to the point where my belly is too hard to do these shots without pain and I swear I feel a kick everytime I put a needle in. Are you still doing it on your tummy?!
  • I dont know if this really goes here, but not sure where else to post it. Does everyone ask questions every appointment? I just had an appointment yesterday. I never have questions when they ask and then I feel dumb that I don't have questions and second guess myself that I SHOULD have questions. I even texted DH to see if he had any questions that he thinks I should ask  :s

@jaceru, I asked questions at my last appt and the NP laughed because I NEVER have questions. Like...this is my third baby and this is the FIRST TIME I've ever had questions. I only had questions about changing my parents' litter box while they're out of town, and what would be the furthest date they'd let me get to before induction.
  • @jaceru I never have any questions either. Things are pretty straightforward.
  • @jaceru I always have questions, but I usually forget them unless I write them down.  Typically they are about stupid myths I have read about on the internet and the midwives are always telling me not to use Dr. Google.
  • @jaceru I generally forget if I have any questions unless something they ask reminds me
  • @jaceru I normally don’t have questions unless it’s about a symptom ive been having.
  • @jaceru I usually have a bunch of questions. that I conveniently forget once I'm there. It's lovely. I do utilize my patient portal though when I actually do remember them after the appointment so I can ask my question before I forget again.

At today's appointment (as long as the above doesn't happen) I wanna ask specific delivery questions, especially since I live an hour away from our hospital.

  • @amb0924, yes, I'm still doing Lovenox shots to my tummy everyday. More often than not I have my husband give me the shot (he's gotten really good!). They are going well and I swear the latest brand of generic Lovenox (made by Amphastar) I got hurts less than the rest! I'm specifically requesting this one from here on out. Even though my uterus is firm, I still have enough fat on my abdomen that the shots have some cushion. I guess there's an up side to being fluffy 😂

@jaceru I had a hard time remembering my questions so I wrote them down before this last appt and that worked well for me. Most of my questions have to do with the complications I've had during my pregnancy or how best to handle pregnancy symptoms. Maybe if I had an easy pregnancy I wouldn't even have questions!
