Well...I gained 13lbs in 4 weeks 🤦🏻♀️. Whether or not I have gd I’ll be watching my food intake. I’m surprised my dr didn’t say anything about it. I did my blood draw today as well so hopefully I get results soon. I’ll be starting my two week appts at 28 weeks with twice weekly nst’s. This is all on top of my weekly scans with mfm. This is getting exhausting already. Im almost a little happy the babies will be here sooner rather than later. Between ds and this I won’t have much time for anything else.
@biolprof I’m considered high risk so with the nst’s they want to make sure the iugr and blood flow issues aren’t affecting baby girls heart rate and movements. It’s just another level of monitoring them. I knew it was coming, just not this soon.
@biolprof i has to do it with my sons pregnancy as well. Thankfully my drs office is much closer than the previous one. You have another scan coming up soon for that, right?
@kbrown2385 I start 2 week appointments at 32 weeks which im thankful for. Between the twin appointments & endocrine appointments it was all getting a bit much so I completely understand how you feel
My marathon OB appt is today: 28 week checkup, follow up anatomy scan, and glucose screen. They gave me the glucose drink pretty much as soon as I walked in so I’m curious if it’s going to make the kiddo extra active for the upcoming anatomy scan. Currently just sitting in the waiting room twitching from the sugar rush.
@leprechaunlady@persnickity Thank you! It went well and the little one behaved perfectly for measurements. She’s measuring 1 day ahead currently and was bouncing around like crazy after the glucose drink. Keeping fingers crossed I won’t have to do the 3 hr glucose test this time around.
So, the scale was being difficult. The bar wouldn't drop until it showed I'd gained THIRTEEN pounds!!! But, when sliding it back, it evened out at gaining 5, but wouldn't raise until it showed I'd LOST three. In the end, we just put +3, making my overall weight gain 10. My blood pressure was back up, but they're not concerned. It's not that high.
I'm measuring 29w (?!) after measuring 20w last time. This kid, honestly.
I start biweekly appoints now, and MFM growth scans on Nov 6, *sigh* and I've been given a max eviction of Jan17 or Jan20 (38w5d/39w1d) because 39w is the max they'll let me go, and that's a Sunday. The end is nigh!!!!
Had another growth scan today. Baby girl has moved from the 4th percentile to the 9th percentile this week! She measured 25w2d and blood flow stayed the same. Baby boy measured in the 80th percentile, which has stayed consistent and he measured 27w5d. I was so happy to see her move up in the percentiles. Hopefully she keeps going! The have both turned breech, she’s above my belly button and he’s below. Their heads are on the same side so that explains why I’m so uncomfortable on the right.
@kbrown2385 Yay! Keep growing, little girl! It sounds like your twins are adorably wanting to hang out close by each other in there, but I’m sorry it’s making you so uncomfortable on that side.
@FyreFlyeRush I’d just tell them that the only weight measure of those you’ll accept is the 3lb loss.
Just found out I passed my 1 hr glucose test! I’m so relieved.
@EmilyE13 Glad to hear the test went well for you today. I had mine today and I hope I get the results soon. I cried the whole way home from the appointment...not sure what that was about. Maybe just a weird mix of relief from being this far, but also sadness that I haven't connected enough with this baby.
The weight gain thing is a whole other ball game. I just have to accept that no matter what I do I am going to gain the same amount, which is around 50 pounds total. It seems to be just what my body does no matter what I eat or how much I exercise. I think I need to ask my providers to stop asking for my weight as it is very triggering to have to do it every time.
Currently passing the hour at the lab after having just finished my nasty drink. Hoping I pass the test but a little nervous since apparently I have a big baby. Just finished my fetal echocardiogram (which was super uncomfortable) and his heart looks perfect! 😁 but then she "weighed" him and says he's at 3lbs5oz 😮 I'm 27wks2days and from what I've read he should be about 2lbs!! But, I dunno how accurate in utero weight measurements are. She says it's just an estimate. Guess we'll just have to weight until birth to know his true weight but the Dr. said that he's going to be a big baby. Let's just hope Carter's let's me exchange all the "newborn" sizes I bought that are most likely NOT going to fit him 🤭
@peppyj9, Yeah, Carter's runs SMALL to begin with, but I learned after DD (a completely avg sized baby) to never buy newborn clothes or diapers! They only last for like 2 weeks at most.
Also, weight and size estimates can be way off...DD was estimated at 9.5-10lbs. She was 20" and 7lbs 14oz. DS1 was estimated at 6-7lbs. He was 22" and 7lbs13oz.
Had my ultrasound today and it looked really good. We could see what we saw before but it was much more clear that it was uterine not fetal and way far away from the cervix so all that's good. I feel alot better. Probably will still induce at 39 weeks just for peace of mind but feeling so much better!
I had my appt with MFM today and had pretty good test results. To the surprise of my dr, I passed my GTT. He thought I probably had diabetes because my baby boy is measuring large (plus I'm overweight with a history of PCOS). Most of his measurements are in the 50-60th percentile but his tummy measured in the 95th percentile. I still don't know why he's chunky, but my dr says the only treatable reason was GD and we ruled that out. I hope they just messed up the measurement and I'll find out in another month at my next ultrasound. Other than a touch of anemia, everything else looks good. Now I'll have appts every 2 weeks.
@kbrown2385 I will see my OB to discuss next week. I just have the scan (with an awesome and helpful tech) and the report to go off of so we'll find out what the plan is. I imagine unless I have any other risk factors for anything else they won't need to do extra monitoring.
@peppyj9 while not fun lots of people don't pass the 1hr but do pass the 3hr so fingers crossed for you!
@noranorabobora from what I've heard US measurements can be quite off at times so hopefully just a measurement error.
@noranorabobora I meant to ask you how your Lovenox shots are going?! I feel like I'm to the point where my belly is too hard to do these shots without pain and I swear I feel a kick everytime I put a needle in. Are you still doing it on your tummy?!
I dont know if this really goes here, but not sure where else to post it. Does everyone ask questions every appointment? I just had an appointment yesterday. I never have questions when they ask and then I feel dumb that I don't have questions and second guess myself that I SHOULD have questions. I even texted DH to see if he had any questions that he thinks I should ask
@jaceru, I asked questions at my last appt and the NP laughed because I NEVER have questions. Like...this is my third baby and this is the FIRST TIME I've ever had questions. I only had questions about changing my parents' litter box while they're out of town, and what would be the furthest date they'd let me get to before induction.
@jaceru I always have questions, but I usually forget them unless I write them down. Typically they are about stupid myths I have read about on the internet and the midwives are always telling me not to use Dr. Google.
@jaceru I usually have a bunch of questions. that I conveniently forget once I'm there. It's lovely. I do utilize my patient portal though when I actually do remember them after the appointment so I can ask my question before I forget again.
At today's appointment (as long as the above doesn't happen) I wanna ask specific delivery questions, especially since I live an hour away from our hospital.
@amb0924, yes, I'm still doing Lovenox shots to my tummy everyday. More often than not I have my husband give me the shot (he's gotten really good!). They are going well and I swear the latest brand of generic Lovenox (made by Amphastar) I got hurts less than the rest! I'm specifically requesting this one from here on out. Even though my uterus is firm, I still have enough fat on my abdomen that the shots have some cushion. I guess there's an up side to being fluffy 😂
@jaceru I had a hard time remembering my questions so I wrote them down before this last appt and that worked well for me. Most of my questions have to do with the complications I've had during my pregnancy or how best to handle pregnancy symptoms. Maybe if I had an easy pregnancy I wouldn't even have questions!

@FyreFlyeRush ot seems like it'd be nice to know an official due date so you're not just waiting around wondering lol.
@EmilyE13 yay for passing the glucose test!
@marebear15 waiting is the worst.

@peppyj9 Good luck on your results! I’m so glad your little one’s heart looked good on the echocardiogram.
