Can I complain about the weather? Seriously, last Saturday was our gender reveal and the weather was perfect. It was about 72 and sunny, and leading towards Fall. The best time of year! Fast forward a week and not only did we go from low 70s to low 30s in just 6 days, but we woke up to a full blown snow storm. Snow, people! 🙄 We were only supposed to get a few flurries and some frost in the morning, but instead we got probably half an inch between Saturday and Sunday alone. We literally went from late Summer to Winter in less than a week. I was really looking forward to Fall this year and I feel cheated. Send help 🥶 ❄️
@taylor2020, that weather is annoying. I do LOL at you calling it a snow storm with half an inch over 2 days. In New England that barely would even make the weather report.
@jvk2012 I was exaggerating with the snow storm thing 😂 We only had half an inch stick (more like half a foot in the mountains 😳) since the ground is still so warm, but there was constant wind and flakes blowing around. We’re in the northwest, it’s not a true snowstorm until we get a foot or two at a time. Just felt it was an appropriate name given the time of year 🤣
My MIL was here for a week and to say she drove me crazy is an understatement. She questioned everything I did regarding this pregnancy and the baby. It was stupid things too like she thought we had too many OB appointments and she swore 37 years ago she didn't have that many. My regular OB appointments follow the normal schedule and I'm high risk so yes I do have more appointments. She was 21 when she was pregnant and I am 37 so that's a big difference.
We got into a small argument over putting the baby in a snow suit before putting him into his car seat. I told her we will not be doing that because it is not recommended since the straps will not be tight enough. She then insisted that I was going to freeze my baby. I tried explaining to her car seat covers and placing blankets over the baby once he is strapped in but she wasn't getting it.
This was pretty much my whole week. Every time I ate meat she told me it wasn't cooked enough and I need to be more careful because I'm pregnant. Good thing I had her here to remind me multiple times a day that I'm pregnant otherwise I might not have known! She told me I needed to rest more but if I tried to lay down on the couch she would follow me into the room and start talking to me. I normally get along really well with her but this time she drove me crazy! Sorry for the huge novel I just wrote!

@celticknotfire, ugh that is so annoying but be prepared for it to continue. People love having opinions on pregnancy and new parenting and don’t like to accept that things have changed due to research and what was once safe may not be the case anymore. Good luck!
@celticknotfire OMG I still have this argument with my husband who wants to put our toddler into a puffy coat and then in the car seat and I'm like NOOOOOOOOO. He says all the other parents do it, and I have to use the bridge analogy.
My BF is that I think I have to give up running for the rest of my pregnancy. I just ran 3 miles and the last mile I felt like I had a billiard ball bouncing on my cervix and serious mid-back pain. whaaaaa. I'm just so uncomfortable right now.

@Taylor2020 We've had the opposite! It's been lovely in the upper 60s/low 70s. Today it's 86! But we'll be down to mid 50s by Friday. Guess I'll take it over snow though! I'm not ready for that half of the year!
My BF is my feel hurt!! Plantar fasciitis isn't fun, but i've bought some shoe inserts (though they didn't work for my flats today...not that those help either) and also some compression socks for nighttime wear. Bonus is they're supposed to be good for reducing pregnancy foot swelling too! I've been stubbornly putting off going to the doctor for it. I'm just going to try some of the physical therapy exercises I've found online before caving and getting professional help.
@taylor2020 that sounds like the weather where live too! Only our snow has been limited to. Few drifting flakes. Down south they had what could probably legitimately be called a snow storm later in the winter. I am so over all of this. 😭
@celticknotfire WTF?! Like woman mind your own uterus! My monkey, my circus- enjoy the view from the crowd and STFU. Sorry you had to deal with that.
@leksiL I'm in denial about giving up running. It's all temporary, but 20 more weeks feels like an eternity from here!
My Monday BF is working. I'm really really really off task and have been thinking about cleaning my bath tub and the basement drain all morning... I'm just completely somewhere else as far as headspace lately. I desperately want to nest and clean and prep during the day while I have energy. By the time I'm done sitting at my desk (whether work was completely efficiently or not) I'm drained and just make dinner and crash out.
@celticknotfire I'm so sorry you had to tolerate a whole week of that "in my day" nonsense. The whole "my kids were fine" argument frustrates me.
My MBF is self-induced. I got in the silliest car accident and it was all my fault. There was a bus that realized they had a passenger waiting at the last moment, and "pulled over" but they left at least a 4 ft gap between the curb and the bus. So they were sticking out a lot further into my lane than I realized. I misjudged my car's width and scraped against the bus' bumper. Thankfully there was no damage to the bus, but I definitely scraped up my newish car. Ugh...
@celticknotfire I wouldn't have been as nice. I can't stand people who are clueless about safety or who are comparing their pregnancy from 37++ years ago to now. You need to put your foot down. One of my friends was telling me about her MIL. She was complaining about the 3 year old kid being in a car seat and was asking when he would be out of it so it would be easier for her. Like WTF?? Things being easier for you once a year is more important than the safety of your grandchild?! She made it very clear to her MIL that car seat safety was non-negotiable and if she wouldn't follow the rules, she wasn't to watch her kid.

@lanie1000 Ughh dumb car accidents like that are the worst. I ran into a pole at a coffee stand once scraping the crap out of my car because I was rushing and not paying attention. I am glad you are ok though and I am sorry about the damage to you car!
My MIL has asked me twice if I’m having twins even though we’ve told her several times there is only one in there. I just want to punch her in the face.
