Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Blue!
Baby is the size of a(n): Apparently today, my baby could fit on a post-it note!
Upcoming appts: One week from today! No U/S, just a checkup, blood work, and I'll have to do a 24 hr urine catch.
How are you feeling?: OK. Still having some nausea and exhaustion sometimes, but it seems much better on weekends when I actually get a full night's sleep.
Rants/Raves: Rant: I hate this in between stage, where my current clothes are uncomfortable, but I don't "look" pregnant yet. I'd much rather look pregnant with a bump, that just bigger than usual.
Rave: Things are looking up at work. I should be moving to a "normal" schedule soon, and hopefully getting a raise. Still working out the logistics. It's been stressful, because I have a fantastic job offer with a lot more money, but it would require us to move again, which we're not into. So basically, I'm more than likely passing up a great opportunity, but making sure my current job makes it worth it.
Questions: Nope.
GTKY: What are you most proud of? Personally, having an amazing little boy (DS1) and a great relationship with my parents.
Professionally, achieving a job that I set out to do since I was a young girl, and being an Emmy-award winning journalist, twice.

Team finding out/pink/blue/green: blue!!
Baby is the size of a(n): peach
Upcoming appts: this morning! Can’t wait.
How are you feeling?: so-so. Still getting nauseated, which stinks. And I still don’t like many foods. But I can feel it getting a little better. Maybe.
Rants/Raves: I’m going to beg my OB for another ultrasound today. I don’t think H will go for one of the elective places, but we shall see. I hate that I got one at 6w and then not again until 20. Pretty sure this was my rant last week but I’m just annoyed. Lol.
Questions: I can’t think of any. I know I had one. But my brain doesn’t function properly anymore.
GTKY: What are you most proud of? That’s a really tough question! I guess the short answer would be creating the two little humans I have now. And this third one.
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Finding Out (hopefully soon)
Baby is the size of a(n): Lemon
Upcoming appts: Sept. 11th for my monthly checkup.
How are you feeling?: The nausea has calmed down a lot which is great and I feel like my energy is starting to come back. I do get daily headaches which sucks but what can you do.
Rants/Raves: RANT: So, I got my blood drawn on Aug 15th and have yet to hear back from my OB about the results. I finally gave in and called them today and they informed me that the lab has yet to review it. I am so annoyed right now. They said with the holiday it could just be delayed. I had the testing 2 weeks before the holiday so I don't get it. They said they were going to check with the lab in case they need something or if it's just pending. I am really hoping I get my results before I leave next week. I don't want to spend my vacation anxious.
Questions: None that I can think of right now.
GTKY: What are you most proud of? This is a really tough question...I would have to say I am proud of how independent I have been and the life I have been able to make for myself. I moved out on my own at 18 years old. Worked my way through college and graduate school all on my own. I've always just been very self sufficient and have found a way to get through things and I like that about myself.
@MrsVP614 I totally agree with you on the clothing thing. I am plus size and don't look at all pregnant just like I've gained a few pounds (especially by the end of the day with the bloat). I can't wait till my bump actually has me looking pregnant lol Oh and congrats on TEAM BLUE!!
@miss.sally Hope you get your ultrasound. My next one isn't until November 1st for the anatomy scan. I don't think I can wait that long either lol Congrats on TEAM BLUE!!
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: team finding out
Baby is the size of a(n): lemon
Upcoming appts: ultrasound sept 5th, got my NIPT results in yesterday, and they were low risk.
How are you feeling?: Much better, other than the cold I caught from DS - nausea is letting up and so is fatigue.
Rants/Raves: Rave, fall is coming up and I can't wait.. I love taking my kids to the pumpkin patch, pumpkin spice everything, the changing leaves... ect.
Questions: none at the moment
GTKY: What are you most proud of? I'm proud that I followed my dreams with writing (was a newspaper reporter for awhile), that I made it through being widowed at 27 (DD's dad died when she was 2), and that I pushed onward to the family and life I have now.
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Finding out! Wondering if/Hoping I'll get a peek at my Nuchal Translucency Ultrasound Screening Test tomorrow. My sister got lucky and found out the gender of her baby at this screening.
Baby is the size of a(n): Lemon
Upcoming appts: NT Screening tomorrow; follow-up OB/GYN appt Oct 1st.
How are you feeling?: I'm feeling great! I saw my OB yesterday to check up on my blood pressure since it's been elevated and the best part of the appt is I got to hear the baby's heartbeat on the doppler (which I haven't heard/seen since my 8w ultrasound). That made my day!
Rants/Raves: I've officially been put on a low dose of blood pressure meds (Labetalol) because my bp has been consistently elevated since 6 wks. It's a little frustrating because I absolutely despise taking meds for anything, but I know that these meds are only going to help, so I'm trying not to be too upset about it.
Questions: Is anyone else taking meds, specifically Labetalol, to manage their blood pressure?
GTKY: What are you most proud of? I'm most proud of the life my husband and I have set up for ourselves. We've been able to stick to our plans and we're now seeing the positive outcomes of that. I'm proud of the home that we've bought/built and I'm proud that we're going to be parents soon!
@lizp1229 I'm on labetalol as well (since before pregnancy) for chronic high blood pressure.
DD/W+D: March 10; 13+1
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Green
Baby is the size of a(n): Lemon
Upcoming appts: Nothing til routine 16 week appt and the second part of the blood test for the sequential screening.
How are you feeling?: Pretty good! Energy is up, and nausea is pretty much gone but heartburn has replaced it.
Rants/Raves: I got to meet my niece (my best friend's 5-week old baby) over the holiday weekend and she is just so sweet and cute.
Questions: --
GTKY: What are you most proud of? I don't know about MOST proud, like in life, but right now I'm very proud of the promotion I got earlier this year and work I've been doing since. I'm very proud of the progress my DH has made this year in a completely new career (not *my* accomplishment per se but I definitely supported him throughout this switch and I am proud of how happy he is so it feels like a personal success!). Personally proud of the deep friendships and family relationships I feel I've improved over the past couple years.

@miss.sally I'm bumping on my phone, so maybe I missed it. How did the appointment go? Did you get your US??
@stacey6689 I hope you hear back soon! I think independence is most parents' dream for their children. I'm obviously not sure of your circumstances, but I hope your parents are as proud of you as I think I'll be of my children as they grow up.
@treetop19 Yay for good NIPT results! I don't really know what to say other than I can't imagine how hard it would be to experience what you did.
@lizp1229 Fingers crossed for you tomorrow! We found out the sex at our NT scan last time.
@sunflower_auryn Yay for new babies and your good test results!
DD/W+D: 3/12 12+6
Edited for spelling.
@keeksie84 Thanks! It's so exciting you were able to find out at your scan. If they are able to determine the gender today, I'm going to have them write it down and put it in an envelope. I want to do a mini gender reveal (just a cake) for our immediate family, especially because this will be my DH's parents first grandchild
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: finding out - probably next week!
Baby is the size of a(n): apricot
Upcoming appts: just had the NT scan and blood draw for NIPT, next appt is just a routine checkup on Sept 24
How are you feeling?: really depends on the day. Or time of day. Sometimes I feel just fine only to be bowled over by a headache or nausea a few minutes later. The headaches have picked up in general, which was the same during my last pregnancy. Last time they only hung around for a few weeks, so hopefully that's the case this time as well. Still tired. Pretty sure I'll be tired for the next 18 years lol.
Rants/Raves: Still thrilled that the NT scan went well yesterday. And we're visiting my family in Colorado next week, which I'm looking forward to. Although we're staying for a full week (airfare was cheapest this way), so we'll see if I still like my family by the end of it lol.
Questions: anyone remember being sore/crampy after a trans-abdominal ultrasound? I'm assuming it's normal since they have to push and squish things around, but I don't remember this from my first pregnancy. No bleeding or anything, just sore.
GTKY: What are you most proud of? Oh hell I don't know. I'll come back and edit if I think of anything good!
---------------------------------
@MrsVP614 so glad you'll be getting a "normal" schedule soon! Are your ILs/MIL still at your house?
@miss.sally how'd the appointment go? Did you get a peek at the baby?
@stacey6689 solidarity with the headaches! And I can't believe that you haven't gotten your lab results back!!! That's insane. Can you call the lab yourself?
@treetop19 when do you find out the sex???? Or did I miss that somewhere?
@lizp1229 Just fair warning: sex identification at 13 weeks can be inaccurate. So, it'll be cool if they can give you a guess, but I wouldn't paint the nursery until you get NIPT results or the anatomy scan at 20ish weeks.
@sunflower_auryn YAY for good first tri screening results!!!
@keeksie84 good luck tomorrow! And I'm usually a total ass to DH when he's sick because of having to pick up all the parenting and house work slack - so I totally feel you. FX so hard that you don't get the stomach bug!

Baby is the size of a(n): Scoop of ice cream (HA, not when I prepare ice cream)
Upcoming appts: NT scan tomorrow
How are you feeling?: Every organ in my abdomen complains at least once a day about how it's changing in there. Also heartburn pretty much every time I eat.
Rants/Raves: Worked 2 12-hour night shifts this week and my internal clock is now effed (and my dog is mad at me for changing the routine). I need a new bra and looser pants. It might be time to just buy maternity clothes.
Questions: My boobs are huge. Any tips for getting away with not wearing a bra in public?
DD/W+D: March 13, I am 12 weeks, 6 days!
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Team finding out! I did the Sneak Peek test (an early gender prediction test) and I got the results yesterday — it's a boy! I will likely wait until the anatomy scan before I start focusing heavily on boy things, though, lol.
Baby is the size of a(n): Lemon! Almost a plum!
Upcoming appts: Not until 9/26 for a check up and second round of blood screening tests. I won't have another US until the 20 week mark at least, unless my partner and I opt for an elective place. He's all for it, but I'm a little more hesitant for some reason.
How are you feeling?: I feel okay, overall. I think my energy is getting better, but I've also started experiencing low-level nausea almost all freaking day, and then a super headache in the evenings. It's not the most ideal situation, but I'll take it. I'm still emotionally out of control... crying at everything, getting mad at the littlest things, feeling immediately regretful and then crying about that. It's been tough.
Rants/Raves: Sad rant: one of my dogs (who is almost 13 years old) is not doing well. He actually ran away yesterday and was missing for HOURS before I finally was able to track him down miles and miles and miles away from my house. He's always been a high maintenance and emotionally needy dog (he was abused and abandoned as a puppy; I got him when he was about 3 or 4 months old), but he's been exceptionally weird lately. His new trick is opening the door that leads to the garage and then pooping out there when we are away at work. Yesterday, I came home and opened the garage to pull my car in and he just BOLTED. I went running after him, but it was too late and he was just gone. We put a small search crew together (my mom and my boyfriend and me) and scoured the neighborhood and adjoining areas nearby before I finally found him hours later. Today, he is shaking and drooling and panting (similar to how he behaves when he's sick and/or there is a thunderstorm) but I'm stuck at work. I hope he's okay and not getting senile or something.
Questions: I'm curious how concerned I need to be that my baby did not cooperate during the NT scan. I feel like everyone else's LO has cooperated and you all have gotten great measurements that are reassuring (and I'm so glad for that!!) but I am just going off of first trimester screening blood work results. I'm not sure if I should just take a deep breath and take solace in the fact that everything looks good (and none of the 4 techs who tried to make the baby cooperate during the NT scan had anything negative to say) or if I should be trying to do more testing somehow to make up for the lack of NT measurements.
GTKY: What are you most proud of? I'm proud that I did so well in college and was able to secure a great job utilizing my degree in the city that I live in. I'm also incredibly proud of the progress I've made as a human, in general. I struggle with clinical depression and anxiety, so getting out of bed and getting to work, or even just talking to a stranger at a gas station, is difficult a lot. But I push myself every single day to get out of my comfort zone, and I'm proud that I'm still going and actually succeeding at things I put my mind to. I'm also proud that I am a nice person. So many people are snotty or inconsiderate just out of selfishness, and I think that's such a negative trait. It's super easy to become bitter in this world (especially right now), but I wish more people weren't.
-------------------
@MrsVP614 I completely feel you on the clothing situation. Everything feels weird/snug, but I really don't look pregnant too much (just like I've gained a lot of weight in a short amount of time). Also YAY for a raise!
@miss.sally Your rant is my rant, too. I feel like it's cruel to make me wait from week 11 all the way to week 20. I just want to peek in at the little bean and see it moving around. My boyfriend is way into the idea of one of those elective places, and it only costs $70 for a big package (pictures, video, and the heartbeat into a stuffed animal)... so we will be doing that sometime during the 15th or 16th week. They also do a gender determination, but that's not as important to me. I just want to see that things look okay. It brings such peace of mind and excitement to just see the nugget.
@stacey6689 I get the daily headaches, too (and I'm having low level nausea all freaking day). I just want to feel GOOD so I can get things done, dang it! That is insane that you blood work hasn't come back yet, holiday or not! I got my blood drawn on 8/29 and I got the results yesterday.... I hope you get yours soon!
@treetop19 I am so excited about fall and all the fun outdoor festivities it has to offer!
@lizp1229 I hope your NT scan goes amazingly today! My LO would NOT cooperate, so we didn't get the measurements OR find out the sex, lol. FX yours goes way better!
@sunflower_auryn Your appointment schedule is exactly like mine. I had my NT scan and first trimester screen last week, and then I go again at 16 weeks (the end of Sept.) for the second part of the blood work. No US until at least 20 weeks, though, for the anatomy scan. I'm so impatient. Yay for the low risk results, btw!
@keeksie84 Good luck at your NT scan tomorrow and meeting with the genetics counselor! Yay for more energy, too! I am definitely jealous! Also, I am glad that you're so happy with your new husband and have built such a solid life together. I'm partially through a divorce right now and it has been the most challenging and emotional thing I've ever gone through. I sure hope I am able to look back and say that it was for the best because sometimes I just feel like I made the wrong decision (even though I know I didn't).
@stassischroeder YAY for wonderful NT scan! I know I told you that already somewhere else in this forum, but that's okay.

DD/W+D: March 12, 13 weeks today!
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: GREEN! Still going strong!
Baby is the size of a(n): Clown fish!
Upcoming appts: Today at 3:15 PM. Nothing exciting.
How are you feeling?: SO much better. The nausea is 80% gone, and starting yesterday, I felt like I could BREATHE again. A tiny part of me is worried it means the baby isn’t growing, but most of me is hopeful it’s just because the second trimester is here!
Rants/Raves: Rave: Tomorrow is FRIDAY!
Questions:
GTKY: What are you most proud of? That I’ve been a vegan for 28 years and a vegetarian for 31… but also just my children. They’re healthy, alive, and loved.
@MrsVP614 what is the urine catch for? And I FEEL you on the in between stage. My wardrobe is down to two pair of work pants and 4 shirts…
@miss.sally I think women should get a 12-14 week ultrasound. I hate that my practice does not do it. However, DH thinks it’s a waste of money, but I’ll be getting an elective one soon. Lol.
@stacey6689 Ugh I am annoyed for you! I hope you hear soon.
@treetop19 I cannot wait for pumpkin patch visits!!!! I might actually take them to two this year haha.
@keeksie84 Yay for more energy… but I feel you on the drain when you get home!
@stassischroeder I basically never get headaches and I’ve had a few (minor) ones lately. Do you know what causes it for you around this time? Just general hormone crud?
@mauvelousone UGH heartburn is the WORST!
@malidocious I am so sorry about your dog! And you do NOT need to be concerned at all about your baby not cooperating. This was DD my WHOLE pregnancy. I had to come in THREE times for the anatomy scan haha. I know it’s hard, but don’t stress! The reassuring bloodwork is great.

Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Just found out we are team blue! We have two daughters (ages 2 and 4) so this is a huge shock!
Baby is the size of a(n): Apricot
Upcoming appts: Not until the end of the month.
How are you feeling?: Dare I say better? The nausea is a lot less.
Rants/Raves: Back to school coincided perfectly with the second trimester and I feel like a new woman! Having that routine and structure in our lives is so helpful.
Questions:
GTKY: What are you most proud of? I’m most proud of giving up my career to become a stay at home parent. It was such a difficult decision after years of schooling, student loans, pressure from my parents, but it was the right decision for our family and for my husband’s career right now. And even though the days are long, it is such a privilege to be home with my girls right now.
+1 to @MrsVP614 and everyone stuck in the awkward “extra fluffy but don’t look pregnant yet stage”. Although wearing maternity clothes is bringing out the bump. We were at a family thing the other night and my FIL was telling some guy I was pregnant and he said “I can see that” so I’m choosing to take that as a positive, “she looks cute and pregnant” and not a, “I’m weirdly examining this chic’s belly fat”. 🤣
@stassischroeder I wanted to add that I've been a total B to my husband because I'm so tired of picking up the slack but I didn't want to come off like a total monster...lol.
@Malidocious I'm sorry you're in the middle of that right now. Its been about 3 years since we separated and its just been in the last 6-12 months that I've really been able to reconcile my anger with my ex and feel more at peace. Luckily for me, I knew the moment I walked out it was the right decision so at least that part was "easy".
@Malidocious ugh, sorry you're dog isn't doing well. It sucks when they get old and start to decline
ETA cross-posted from STM: Try not to worry! My son's NT scan was pretty much a bust, but had good NIPT results and he ended up being fine
@keeksie84 you're not a monster in the least!
@MrsVP614 I suggest you start charging MIL rent. I hope she's at least self-aware enough to realize how much she's imposing on you guys. (I feel like I've said that before... but it's still true LOL)
@momoftoddlers YAY team blue! And thanks for the reassurance about being sore!

@sunflower_auryn I was induced last time at 38 weeks, because my blood pressure got too high. It wasn't because of the meds, but because I had pre-e signs. I was told this time around, I can expect induction between 37-39 weeks.

Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Finding out! Hopefully will get NIPT results before the end of next week
Baby is the size of a(n): Potsticker
Upcoming appts: September 27th. Not sure what to expect at that appointment (story of my life!)- I'll be almost 17 week so seems too early for anatomy scan?
How are you feeling?: Out with one symptom in with another.. had a few migraines this week which sucked! Having food aversions still, not to anything in particular but can't find anything appetizing to eat! Any suggestions?
Rants/Raves: Rave- decided to wear maternity leggings to work today (still haven't told work yet, waiting til NIPT results) and they are SOOO comfortable and I'm so much happier
Questions: Any other babies straight chilling during your ultrasounds? I've only had 2 but both times baby seems to be sleeping and not moving much. Doctor doesn't seem too concerned but I'm feeling a little bummed that baby isn't cooperating. Also, last US was transvag and we didn't really see the baby well anyway.
GTKY: What are you most proud of? This is such a positive one!! So many things, but most relevant for me now is the work I did in therapy the last two ish years. I worked to understand my anxiety and felt more prepared to be a parent after I worked through my own obstacles from when I was younger. Puts me in a much better place to become a parent next year!
---
@MrsVP614 I’m so with you on the clothes thing. I have a fancy wedding next weekend and I was sure I’d fit into a dress I have, but nope! Too blumpy and not pregnant enough to wear a form-fitting dress, and my proportions are off for my usual dress sizes. The struggle is real!
@stacey6689 that’s SO frustrating! FX you get some good news before your fun vacation
@treetop19 & @keeksie84 you two are strong mamas!
@lizp1229 how was the NT scan?
@sunflower_auryn CONGRATS on your low risk results!!
@stassiscrhoeder yes to crampy! my doctor is assuring me that even with bleeding after an ultrasound, that’s normal.
@mauvelousone have you tried maternity bras? I’m thinking about switching pretty soon.. the underwire is killing me, but I need support. Those puppies hurt way too much without wearing a bra, pregnant or not pregnant.
@malidocious sounds like we have similar thoughts about uncooperative babies! I ended up not doing the NT scan, just NIPT bloodwork. I think we’ll be okay. There are still other options for further testing, although they’re not noninvasive, if we really need it in a few weeks.
@miss.sally that made me smile! So happy for an easy to find heartbeat.
@EmilyLove25 I'm so glad your nausea has subsided considerably! That's great.
@momoftoddlers Yay for a little boy, how exciting! I love that you're able to be a stay-at-home mama with your babies. That is my dream!
@keeksie84 Thanks for your kind words.
@stassischroeder Hiiiiii! We did get a great look at the basic anatomy during the NT scan. Everything was accounted for and looked good according to the techs and my OB. Blood work came back low risk for everything, so I'm taking solace in that.
@miss.sally Yay for a good appointment (boo to no ultrasound). As for the Doppler, the first time I found the heartbeat, it was down on the left side. Every other time, it has been almost directly in the middle. It DOES move around, though, which makes it harder to find some days!! My partner and I are getting an elective US done around 15 weeks, and I am so excited! It's only $70 and they're going to do a gender determination (I don't fully trust my Sneak Peek results for some reason, lol) and give me pictures and videos of the baby along with a stuffed animal that plays the sound of my baby's heartbeat.
DD/W+D: March 13th Today is 13 weeks!
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: we got our results this week from The NIPT blood draw and we are having a baby GIRL!
Baby is the size of a(n): LEMON
Upcoming appts: 16 week appt on Sept 24th
How are you feeling?: really good! Actually I did have one full day of sickness on Tuesday, felt like food poisoning? But I also haven't had morning sickness so maybe that's how it feels too.
Rants/Raves: Raves all around! SO excited to be having a healthy baby girl! I honestly thought I wanted a boy but the second the nurse called me and told me I had a healthy baby I was elated. My aunt and uncle never had kids of their own so they helped raise me while my mom worked 3 jobs. My uncle was my best friend, he's the reason I'm a huge football fan, he came to all my sporting events, and took me on all kinds of road trips. When we lost him in 2001 I was in 6th grade and it ruined me. I've always known if I had a girl I wanted to name her Scottie after him, and now i get to! Sept 12th will be 18 years since we lost him so we will make a public announcement then in his honor ❤
Questions: with this being my first experience with all of this, do you get an ultra sound at 16 weeks? DH family will be in town the week of our appointment and I'd love to have an updated image for them
GTKY: What are you most proud of? Honestly, I am so proud of where i am in life. I came from a broken home, have suffered all kinds of loss and i could easily have taken a different path in life. Both DH and i have worked for everything we have with no help from others. It hasn't been easy but i actually feel comfortable bringing a little one into our family. DH makes me so proud to be his wife every day and i know that come March his life is about to be turned upside down because our little one will most definitely have him wrapped around her finger😂
She was also able to get the baby in the right position to see the gender. We found out that we're having a BOY! Of course DH is too excited.

How are you feeling?: Better. Still anxious and gassy though. I'm ready to be done with being gassy.

Questions:
GTKY: What are you most proud of? That I've managed to maintain my relationship with my husband for 13 years (obviously with his help). I struggle a lot with interpersonal relationships and have difficulty maintaining friendships and other kinds of relationships.
Self consciousness is taking control as I notice the weight I'm gaining in my face (which is far more noticeable than that at my tummy to me). Second time moms, will I lose this weight or is it a permanent mom look?
