@kantobean I 100% feel you on the routine and not feeling focused at work OR getting things done at home. My nausea is getting better, but the exhaustion is no joke. DH has been gone all week and gets back late tonight. Hoping he can help with some things so I can nap. And you teach, right? Can you remind me what grade?
@chichiphin I would totally be down for one. I don't think we can GO anywhere (we have two LOs), but I am definitely going to plan a really high end night out sometime in the fall!
I’m mobile so I can’t tag everyone. But things are going fine. MIL’s surgery went really well but she’s still very out of it. So I’m just sitting here. I sent H to pick up the kids and honestly I’m LOVING the quiet time here
ive been a little crappy on and off but I’m sure everything is fine. I brought my doppler so I could try to find the heartbeat for MIL so maybe I’ll do that when she wakes up a bit.
I found the heartbeat on my doppler! So excited! I was preparing myself for it to take a while and to be ok if I didn’t find it but it was right there and reading about what it read at my appt last week!

@emilylove25 yes, I’m a high school choir teacher. I love it! But this start of the year is kicking my ass. 😂
I can’t imagine how you survive with your H traveling so much! When mine is gone for a night or two I whine a lot. 😂 But I think his job might have him traveling more in a few years so I should probably get used to it.
I read that women in the first trimester shouldn't get massages, however I'm going for a pedi tomorrow and I always get the extra massage. Those of you who are getting pedis', are you getting the massage as usual?
@grga I think it means no back massages but foot/leg massages should be fine but I’m not really a fan of either so I’ve never looked into it too much. Maybe someone else can clarify.

According to my OB, ankle massages should be avoided because it's one of the pressure points that can cause uterine contractions. It also looks like all massage during pregnancy should be on the light-pressure side so as not to dislodge any blood clots. Personally, I think it's all a bit alarmist and you'd probably be fine to get whatever massage you want. Buuuutttt.... since you're asking, here are some articles (both scientific and not lol) I found regarding this:
@Malidocious I feel like if you Google "(literally anything) during pregnancy" you'll find SOME reason to avoid it lol. Like I said above, I feel like most of these things are unfounded, not supported by actual science, and a bit ridiculous. Apparently in China pregnant women are advised to wear special vests to deflect radiation if they use a computer.
Thanks @stassischroeder ! I had a prenatal massage last pregnancy and I totally plan to do it again. I know those are usually special techniques, but I also had lots of pedicures on my swollen feet and it’s never crossed my mind to worry about it.
I wasn’t allowed to sit in a massage chair once because the ankle portion could stimulate labor apparently. I think it’s all a little ridiculous. But that being said I probably wouldn’t Risk a really hard massage too early in the pregnancy.
Theres a local lady who does an “induction” massage. Only if you’re 40 weeks, but I guess it can help you go into labor! I would definitely try it if I went past my due date.
@MrsVP614 I will FOR SURE be doing a prenatal massage as well (again). In fact, I'm really looking forward to it, but obviously later on when my body really needs it.
@grga I got prenatal massages with both pregnancies from 12 weeks on. They were covered by insurance so I went fairly regularly. I honestly don’t understand how they could be dangerous if done by someone trained in prenatal. I will do it again with my third. I don’t think any “induction” pressure point is going to do anything unless your body is ready.
I definitely did not give up mani/pedis during pregnancy. I go every 2 weeks and my doc doesn’t seem to see it as a problem. I don’t get any prenatal massages in the first trimester though. I will probably get one or two one I start to get big and uncomfortable!
If anyone is having trouble finding the heartbeat with the Doppler I found last night that having a fuller bladder really helped. I couldn’t find it after about 15 min so I drank some water, waited an hour, and then I found it in like a minute!
ETA I’m 11+6 according to LMP but baby is about a week behind

Today seems to be one of those days where grocery shopping seems so daunting that I just burst into tears. I can't wait for this supposed return to fairly normal emotional state in a few weeks.
I made pumpkin chocolate chip muffins today and they’re amazing. I went to nap and asked H to take some of the mini ones to our neighbor and instead he took ALL of the regular sized ones. I cried.
@mauvelousone I have almost cried more than once in the grocery story, I just have zero ability to cope with the littlest things. Plus I get so tired. I’ve been doing grocery pick up and it’s amazing!
@silverhope I have Blue Cross Blue Shield through premera. They cover 42 per calendar year! Still have to pay my copay ($40) so it’s not like I can actually go every week, but I’d like to!
@momoftoddlers@miss.sally yes to grocery pick up/delivery! The nausea has been pretty bad here and my good aversions are real. The thought of going to the store and picking out meat for DH🤢 So I’ve been ordering all summer and it’s been amazing!
@momoftoddlers@varimama OMG the acne is KILLING ME!! No matter what I do, it just is breaking out worse than when I was 14 years old with greasy bangs, ugh!
@mauvelousone Oh man, I'm in the same boat with things seeming daunting. I get overwhelmed by relatively mundane tasks, such as grocery shopping, and I just cry.

@miss.sally WTH DH. I'd cry too.@laurenm2123 I feel you. I am gaining weight by exclusively eating bagels. I don't get it.
