Kindercare drop-in care

Has anyone used the drop-in service at Kindercare?  I have nobody to watch DS (18 mos.) and it is getting more difficult to take him to my doctor's appointments.  The wait at my OB's office is sometimes almost an hour and now that I am going every two weeks I dread going to the doctor. 

If you have used it, is it affordable and do you recommend it?

I've never used this type of care, but I previously worked child care so I thought I'd share my thoughts. 

If I were going to use this type of care I'd go and ask lots of questions. I'd find out how they screen their staff and what their ratio of workers to children is.  WIth drop in care, you never know how many you're going to get, so it's hard to run appropriate staff. I would only utilize care that is licensed.  I would ask how they handle it if they have too few or too many kids.  For example, if we only had a few infants and a few toddlers, we would combine, which is okay.  However, if we only had a few infants and a few school age, then we woudln't combine because we didn't want the bigger kids with the babies.  Just stuff like that I would want to know about before using them. It would also depend on my LO, if he rolled with the punches pretty well or tended to be shy. I wouldn't want to leave him if I knew he was going to be uncomfortable. I will say I get where you're coming from though: i sat with LO at the ob's office for 3 hours on Wednesday.
