Est Due Date/Weeks + Days: I'm approx 17 weeks. My due date is either Dec 20th or 23rd, my midwives haven't come to a consensus on it yet since my first 2 US's had conflicting information.
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Team Green
Baby is the size of a(n): large onion
Upcoming Appointments: midwife appointment and anatomy scan on July 30th
How are you feeling?: mostly ok. I have another stupid cold and the coughing/post-nasal drip are triggering my gag reflex and making me more prone to vomiting, but otherwise it's just some acid reflux.
Rants/Raves: 1) damn it is hard to keep up here when I can't use an actual computer. The phone app for this place is shit.
2) I'll explain further in the Working Moms thread, but essentially I spent all that time looking for a job, got hired, and blah blah blah ended up working there for a week. I have something else lined up for a month from now (who know that I'm pregnant, so I'm not worried about that), but I was 100% correct in assuming that the place I was hired would get rid of me the second they found out I was pregnant.
Questions: N/A
GTKY: If you could have a hall pass for one celebrity, who would it be? Probably Jenson Ackles (Dean Winchester)
Baby is the size of a(n): a toilet paper roll (I really wanted to find something random AF)
Upcoming Appointments: 7/25 anatomy scan and routine OB
How are you feeling?: today: tired. generally: pretty good and normal, having some kind of weird sharp/jabby quick pains that I *think* is round ligament pain. Waffling back and forth on calling my OB. I assumed RLP would feel more like stretching?
Rants/Raves: rave: we found a paint color for the nursey! (Only took 5 samples.) and ordered the glider. rant: my house is a hot mess, the rain derailed getting bedroom furniture moved out and stuff is just scattered everywhere.
Questions: how are y’all doing with registry stuff? I started throwing random things on mine, I guess I need to sit down and organize/pick stuff out.
GTKY: If you could have a hall pass for one celebrity, who would it be? Oooh, this is easy. Matt Berninger from the National.
@anniemarie887 the first time around my registry was a work-in-progress right up until the point that I started sharing it with people for my baby shower. I had like 7 strollers on there at one point just so I could remember which ones I'd short-listed after doing all my research. Random things aren't necessarily a bad idea either, and don't think you need to stick to just necessities, people love being able to buy the super adorable things too.
@CapricaAndrea good to know! I definitely have duplicates of stuff, books, and some of the necessities. Basically if I see it, and it looks interesting or useful I’ve added it. Time to pare down and focus.
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Finding out on Wednesday!!!
Baby is the size of a(n): a game controller
Upcoming Appointments: Wednesday for Anatomy scan & 7/23 for midwife appointment
How are you feeling?: overall ok. I have a bit of sciatica pain today, and heart burn is starting to kick in at night. The other night I got some pain in my diaphragm and couldn't really breathe - that's how my early contractions with my daughter felt so my husband got a little nervous. I think I just haven't been pushing enough fluids so I've been trying really hard to do so.
Rants/Raves: My SIL is pregnant right now too and due at the end of August. Her baby shower is this weekend in TX so I'm not going to it. I was looking at the registry though to try and find something to get her and there is literally like 3 things on there that are affordable - everything else is crazy expensive. The affordable things you ask? FIFTY. 50. washcloths! who the hell needs 50 wash clothes?! a bottle scrubber, and 2 boppies. I was going to get her a boppy until I realized she was registered for 2 and someone had already purchased one. I'm sorry, you don't need 2, hull the thing up and down the stairs.
Rave: We decided to bring our daughter to the anatomy scan. While this could go horrible, we're pretty excited she will get to find out with us!
Questions:
GTKY: If you could have a hall pass for one celebrity, who would it be? Scott Foley - Jake from Scandal. My husband knows I'm totally team Jake in the show.
@CapricaAndrea I agree--I can't use the app at all on my phone! And I'm sorry about your job, but really glad you found something else that will hopefully be better!
@anniemarie887 Registry stuff? I'm in full denial, lol. I technically started a registry, and technically put things on it, but it was more like..."here's a random bottle set, I'll need one of those," and "Oooh yes, I'll need this, better put a random one on here..." So I need to actually sit down and research stuff and put the versions of things I actually want on there, rather than placeholders. Our registry is set to private right now, of course, lol.
Est Due Date/Weeks + Days: Due 12/24, 17w tomorrow
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Finding out
Baby is the size of a: Taco!!
Upcoming Appointments: Anatomy scan on 8/12...can't wait!
How are you feeling?: Overall surprisingly well! Some minor aches, occasional headaches (no migraines yet, and I used to get them often prepregnancy). Finally starting to have a liiiittle more energy...
Rants/Raves: We finally announced our pregnancy to *everyone!* I was kind of terrified to make the news public, but now it feels like a relief. What weird emotions!
Questions: Anyone else thinking of playing music that might be considered "inappropriate" during labor, lol? I'm thinking foul language. Not sure if that would be super tacky, orrrr if no one really cares....
GTKY: If you could have a hall pass for one celebrity, who would it be? Hands down, Trent Reznor. Good gravy, that man.
@anniemarie887 Awesome, thanks! I had a list with my last pregnancy but no longer have it. I will also be bringing it up at my next PT appointment but that's not for another 2 weeks.
Also for registry, I find it easier to go into a store and look at things then add them on, if that's an option. This time around we only need a couple of things and aren't expecting anyone to buy them for us but I'm still going to put a registry together for the discount. I"m thinking we'll go into the store again too.
@ashorkey the Buy Buy Baby near us is mental. It’s two floors. I tend to be an online vs in person shopper and my husband and I were a little overwhelmed in store.
Called my OB just to check on these weird jolty/sharp pains - her conclusion after going through some questions.... gas pains. So now I feel like a dummy, a happy dummy, but alas. She was sweet tho, she’s like bodies do weird things when you’re pregnant and I didn’t even realize some of it until I myself was pregnant.
@ninrms ahaha *during labor* "LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR, LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR"... can I come rock out at your delivery? I plan on having a fun playlist as well!
@anniemarie887@CapricaAndrea@ashorkey Registries...oh man. I have had my registry completed before I was even pregnant...#psycho...but I just wanted to have a good base plan, and I've been reading/researching and adding things or deleting things since. I also like seeing other people's and being like whyyyyy would you need that? Like the 50 washcloths lol!
FTM and 17 weeks today! (love that its perfectly at the beginning of each week)
Team Green! Really hoping the anatomy scan doesn't ruin this surprise for us!
Baby is the size of a(n): idk. a pomegranate......the app makes zero sense. Also, I third that the Bump phone app sucks so bad. every time I get the chance if they ask how they are doing with it I write how bad it is.
Upcoming Appointments: Checkup on July 30, then anatomy scan on Aug 6th! Can't even imagine how I will feel that day -- really looking forward to it.
How are you feeling?: Felt super off yesterday like sad, tired and empty(?), I keep waking up in the middle of the night the last few nights and panicking that I will be solely responsible for another little human...I'm terrified lately. My nipples still hurt so bad I am getting so fed up. I also need to get my butt to the gym more, I usually go 3-4 days in a row then get stuck in a rut, it really helps my mood and daily motivation! I still don't know if I have felt any movement??? I thought I did a week ago but I don't know. Is that normal to not felt anything yet possibly?
Rants/Raves: None. Just can't wait to get out of boring Illinois and to our baby moon in September.
Questions: Movement?? What are you ladies feeling? Anyone else sort of terrified of labor?
GTKY: If you could have a hall pass for one celebrity, who would it be? Probably young Brad Pitt, with like the long hair stage he went through during A River Runs Through It
@ktmaesim want to do my registry for me? I might be hitting a paralysis by analysis stage. Where is your babymoon? I need to finishing booking ours. As for nipples, mine are back to being super sensitive and movement I’m just in the “I have no idea what’s going on with my body right now” feeling. Haha. It’s not a bad feeling, I just feel clueless.
I can send u my link! And our babymoon is Portland Coast at Headlands Lodge! Literally can’t wait. Yes I have no idea what to expect with my body most days! It’s so confusing! @anniemarie887
@ktmaesim mostly right now I’m feeling flutters, or occasionally little pokes repeatedly in one spot. I was feeling a lot more about a week ago than I have been the past few days, but right now there’s a lot of space for baby to move around so it’s probably just in a different area where it’s less noticeable.
@CapricaAndrea I just wish there was a way to tell for sure! haha, it's so hard waiting and waiting while I see everyone else is pretty positive they have felt some.
@ktmaesim Yessss come rock out!! I am wanting to play lots of Nine Inch Nails, lol. Most of his stuff is actually tame and tons of it is instrumental, but for some reason I'm really feeling like his rougher album is the one I want to actually motivate me to push lol. (Like I'll have enough of a brain to make sure that happens!) I've mentioned it elsewhere, but I'm reaaaaaally obsessed with this band, lol.
Also, Oregon for your babymoon! We're stopping in Oregon on ours! Big road trip to the pacific northwest, where DH is from. The only place I've been in Oregon before is Multnomah Falls, so I'm pretty excited!
Apparently I'm just writing you one big long post....I haven't conclusively felt any movement yet. I've felt like what I thought *could* be movement a few times, but I'm not positive. When I asked my doctor about it last, she was pretty convinced you can't really feel anything (at least as a FTM) until closer to 20w. So, who knows! But you're not alone in not being positive you can feel anything. (I'm 17w tomorrow.)
@anniemarie887 I would call RLP stabby, it is awful. and my registry is a hot mess, but it is mostly for me and to get a completion coupon, since this is my 3rd.
@ashorkey wow, 50 washcloths is insane. Especially since a lot of times people just buy them and put them with other stuff. Good luck taking your daughter to the AS. My kids would never be patient enough.
@ktmaesim most movement I feel is flutters, but occasionally I feel bigger movements like flips. It is normal to not feel movement up until about 22 weeks I think, especially for a FTM. I am sorry you are terrified of labor. I would love to tell you it isn’t so bad, but obviously it is different for every person and every pregnancy.
Baby is the size of a(n): one app said chipmunk? That seems too small.
Upcoming Appointments: AS and OB appointment in 2 weeks
How are you feeling?: someone better, but currently like crap. I have a really bad headache. Today was my first day back to work after vacation, so I assume that is why. Still dealing with a lot of nausea. And now cravings are really setting in.
Rants/Raves: my coworkers kept my work up a lot better than I expected from being out, so work was not really as overwhelming as I expected. I have lately had to motivation to do anything, but I actually have been feeling a lot less lazy the last few days, it is nice to have a clean house, real food, and no massive stack of laundry.
Questions: not that I can think of.
GTKY: If you could have a hall pass for one celebrity, who would it be? Timothy Olyphant
@holly321 seriously! I counted twice and when my husband didn’t believe me he counted too. And they’re all different kinds so it’s not like they accidentally registered for 5 packs rather than just 1.
Thanks. I bet she’ll handle it for a few minutes at a time. Well have to be sure to bring lots of activities for her to do in the corner 😬
@ashorkey I saw a registry not too long ago where she registered for 34 bibs. All different multipacks. I was very confused.
@holly321 dr google has me thinking RLP. I’m laying here, on my side like a good girl, and it’s just like random ass jolts. Switched from my left side to my right side.
Est Due Date/Weeks + Days: 17 weeks 5 days (I think). Due 12/19
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Finding out on August 1st
Baby is the size of a(n): pomegranate. Or i think most recently a hershey bar?
Upcoming Appointments: 7/24 regular ob appointment and 8/1 anatomy scan
How are you feeling?: I feel totally fine.
Rants/Raves: I bought some maternity pants but I think it was too soon. They won't stay up until I have a bigger belly, I think. I'm still making do with regular pants but am so uncomfortable after I eat!
Questions: anyone else overwhelmed by unsolicited advice? I keep telling myself to remember how annoyed I get when people tell me how they did "x" with their kid so that I don't do the same thing...I know I'm going to need support, but I want to ask for it from specific people, not be told when I'm on my way to the bathroom!
@anniemarie887 That's how the wash clothes are! I think we registered for like 3 bibs with our daughter. We got some others at our shower too, but probably had 6 total. Maybe she was expecting a super drooly kid? some kids just can't keep saliva in their mouth so they always have a bib on, that's all I can come up with
@brrrrrrrrie speaking of unsolicited advice lol... if they are full panel can you fold the panel down? This is what I did during the in between stage of regular pants not fitting and my belly popping and it worked ok.
Est Due Date/Weeks + Days: 12/18, will be 18 weeks tomorrow
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: pink
Baby is the size of a(n): croissant
Upcoming Appointments: I'm currently sitting in the ER so lots of doctors around. Have an apt with a new obgyn on Thursday.
How are you feeling?: not great! Haven't kept anything down in days. They have an iv of fluids going for me now. Nausea, vomiting, pain in my stomach and headaches.
Rants/Raves:
Rant: Major problems since Thursday night. My old obgyn never got back with me when I left messages. Basically I'm miserable.
Rave: I already love the new obgyn office and hospital so much better. Better care and nicer staff. When I couldn't get ahold of the new dr because it's his surgery day, the nurse was on the phone asap. They sent me to the er and I'm already feeling better.
Questions: none.
GTKY: If you could have a hall pass for one celebrity, who would it be? Alexander Skarsgård. He seems very nice and down to earth.
@mrszoobear so glad you like your new doc, that really makes a huge difference. Hope you feel better soon!
Side note: anyone else feeling a pressure like feeling on their lower pelvic area? Doesn’t hurt at all, just uncomfortable? Can’t really explain... just irritable and I notice it a lot when sitting down and when I just went pee. Def not sharp RLP...just a softness ?
Thanks everyone! I'm home now after spending all day in the hospital. I'm still vomiting any time I eat or drink. But my hubby went to get the prescription filled for nausea meds. My potassium was low from not keeping anything down and I have a bladder infection. So hopefully that is just the reason for getting so sick.
How are you feeling?: ok, not staying hydrated enough or tracking blood sugars well. I’ll be in trouble Friday.
Rants/Raves:
rant: yes I know my kids will be only 14 months apart, I can count. I’m acutely aware of when the first was born and still have a scar. I’m also acutely aware of how far I am into this pregnancy. People need to mind their business.
Questions:
GTKY: If you could have a hall pass for one celebrity, who would it be? Kerry Washington.
Im on a phone so tagging and tracking things suck. If I miss tag I’m sorry.
@ktmaesim yes I feel some pressure. Especially when I stand after sitting awhile.
Ive felt flutters but I know this time with DS I either hadn’t felt anything or didn’t recognize it. I had an anterior placenta so that also made it harder.
I have a registry. Mostly for the completion discount. My parents will buy us a crib (they have for every grandbaby). Other than that I just want the savings. For DS my registry was a mess for awhile before I narrowed things down. I obsessively researched car seats, high chairs, baby monitors, strollers. I figure we had a baby not long ago. It can’t be that different lol. I’ll get the same stuff if I need doubles ha
Also someone was worried about accidentally finding out sex at the ultrasounds. We were team green last time. I made sure to remind the ultrasound tech at every ultrasound and they were great at making sure we didn’t ruin the surprise. I had LOTS of ultrasounds and we made it.
@stac928 that’s good to know about the ultrasounds, and I’ve been told just say it up front! As for your kids being close, I was just catching up with my friend who has 2 boys under 2 (16mos apart) and they are loving life. Baby #2 hasn’t rocked their world at all. It’s pretty awesome.
@anniemarie887 - I have a Baby List registry. I like how easy it is to add and delete items. So my registry is constantly changing. I also like that you can add items from anywhere online. We are doing cloth diapering so it's cool to be able to let people know our preferred cloth diaper company. Another cool thing is it shows all the stores you can get the same item from and what it costs at each.
Also if anyone wants me to send over my registry in a DM I can. I feel like I've got it almost complete and I've been changing things for a while and feel like im in a good place to share it now
@brrrrrrrrie I have the same problem with my pants! My bump is still fairly small (first baby) but my regular pants are starting to feel uncomfortable. Thankfully it’s been so hot that I just wear dresses to work and they’re a lot more comfortable.
Also feel the same about unsolicited advice. I’ve honestly only told family and close friends (most don’t have kids yet) to avoid that. I’m dreading once everyone knows and starts adding their two cents.. is that bad? Lol. Also when people are shocked that I’m not reading baby books day and night. Aaah I’m only 17 weeks! Give me a minute to let it sink in. I have family that have worked with babies their whole lives and I trust them more anyways.
Sorry.. rant over. Just needed to get that off my chest
@newbabymama27 I hear you about the books. I've turned down some from friends, telling them that I've read two books and I'm done with books. I feel like they actually make me anxious instead of informing me, so I'm electing not to read any more. I'm going to read what my doctor gives me and that feels good enough!
Upcoming Appointments: Surgery to remove the cyst tomorrow! Follow up with my OB on the 24th and with my surgeon on the 31st. Then back to regularly scheduled programming.
How are you feeling?: I feel pretty good. Random bloating which has been an unpleasant pregnancy symptom. A touch nervous about tomorrow's surgery, but generally pretty confident about it. The surgeon did call this week and said I'd be a good candidate to do regional anesthesia for the surgery, so I'll be awake instead of fully under. That's a little mentally freaky, but less drugs for the baby, so I'm all for it.
Rants/Raves: Rave - I'm pretty psyched for a week off of work. I wish it wasn't for surgery recovery, but I'm going to take advantage of it. My mom flew out to hang out with me during recovery and we're going to use the time to finalize my registry and do some shopping.
Questions: Any tips to get rid of crazy bloating/gas in a relatively quick way?
GTKY: If you could have a hall pass for one celebrity, who would it be? This one is really hard - I've honestly never thought about it!

Side note: anyone else feeling a pressure like feeling on their lower pelvic area? Doesn’t hurt at all, just uncomfortable? Can’t really explain... just irritable and I notice it a lot when sitting down and when I just went pee. Def not sharp RLP...just a softness ?

Upcoming Appointments: Friday regular OB appt
@mrszoobear glad you are on the mend

Also if anyone wants me to send over my registry in a DM I can. I feel like I've got it almost complete and I've been changing things for a while and feel like im in a good place to share it now
Also feel the same about unsolicited advice.
