My first appointment is just with the nurse on July 25th. She’ll draw blood and give me a bunch of pamphlets and schedule a dating U/S for the next week. I don’t actually see my OB until August 15th ~10 weeks.

I’ve had two blood draws, and will have a third on Monday. After that draw, I’ll set up a dating ultrasound and my first midwife appointment.  I estimate the US will be on either the 12th or 19th.

I have a confirmation appt on 7/25 (7weeks) and then an intake appt on 8/11 (10 weeks). I’m hoping I can get labs drawn at the 10 week appt as I want to do the Harmony test and I believe we can do that starting at the 10 week mark.

I had my second blood draw today for hcg and progesterone. My first ob appointment is schedule for August 8th.

**got my second blood test results. On Monday my HCG was 118 and progesterone 20. Today my HCG was 690 and progesterone 17.8. I’m so relieved! I go back Tuesday for more bloodwork and ultrasound.

(We did IUI, and early pregnancy monitoring is something our fertility clinic does.)

I've got a phone intake with a nurse on the 10th and my first appointment with a midwife on the 26th.  I'm kind of surprised the midwife is seeing me so soon (at 8 weeks).

@momoftoddlers, I can't compare a midwife experience to an OB, but I did Centering Pregnancy with a midwife last pregnancy and loved it.  I got to know one midwife really well and felt like she knew me well too.  She did not end up delivering my baby, but I had a really great nurse, so I didn't really care.

@emmasemm glad your first scan went well!! and @phyllifish great news on the labs.

@momoftoddlers I used a midwife practice for my first and loved it. They did home births and hospital (I did hospital), with an OB on call for backup if needed. I know there are great OBs, but the one I started with made me feel like a vessel rather than a human. The midwives felt like they were taking care of me, not just the baby.

@momoftoddlers I had an OB for my first birth and used a midwife practice for my second. All the midwives in the practice have master’s or doctorate degrees in nursing. I gave birth at the same hospital both times and my birth experience wasn’t dramatically different, but I much preferred the midwife experience throughout my pregnancy. They were more holistic, spent more time when needed, and I got to meet them all (my OB practice only let you schedule with your OB even though it could have been one of 8 who ends up delivering). I had a pretty traumatic event at the end of my second pregnancy, and my midwife was amazing through it.

I have my first apt on July 18. I scheduled early since I have a thyroid disorder and I want my levels monitored early. Hopefully they will be able to see a heartbeat even though it’s early.

@MrsVP614 26th appointment party!  Dumb question:  how will they confirm pregnancy w/out an US?
@emmasemm such great news about your scan!  Hopefully it is bringing you some peace of mind.
@noodlepig fingers crossed for a really great scan on Wednesday.  Let us know how it goes!

I wasn't offered to have betas done when I made my appointment but I called and asked (is that what everyone else does? Lol)  So I had one blood draw yesterday and I'll go in again tomorrow.  In all my free time now that I'm on summer break, I tend to obsess over things like this, but I'm trying to be chill about it.

@keeksie84 Not a dumb question! My first appt last pregnancy included a U/S, so I’m guessing too... maybe they will just do a pregnancy test and vitals and whatnot.

Went for my second blood draw today.
Hoping for a phone call first thing in the morning with the results. I am hoping from that will schedule an ultrasound.
While waiting today, I saw ladies leaving with their little u/s pictures. I can’t wait to see this lil nug.

ETA: hcg is up to 2100. progestrone is only at 13.6 but my doctor isn't worried.
    Ultrasound scheduled for July 18.
