I have nesting for a few weeks. I have basically been organizing my house and going room by room. I still have some boxes to unload because I’m taking my time making sure everything is put away nicely.
I don’t even have many baby clothes. 🙈 I’m not sure what the deal is and why I haven’t started really buying anything but I literally have 5 onesies for this baby and swaddles that I will reuse from my other babies.
My SPD is so bad already this time around. I know this week it is from doing too much coming back from vacation but ugh. I have stuff that HAS to get done. Plus, all of the things it says to not make it worse, I end up doing because that is life. Dont carry my toddler? Ok, you break the news to her. Dont sit for long periods of time? Ok, explain to my clients why I am just standing there in the room for their 50 minute session instead of sitting. Im actually looking forward to the cooler weather this fall (i. Cant. Wait.) So i can do walking sessions again with my clients. Bah. I just want to lay on the couch and binge watch shows.
I haven't had the nesting urge yet, I really hope it kicks in soon though. I feel like I have so much I need to do, but just no desire to start reorganizing everything to make it happen haha. I bought a few pjs from Target yesterday, but I really need to dig out all the stuff I saved from my daughter and see what I still need for those first few months clothing-wise.
@drama_llama I have definitely been getting the cleaning bug. I informed my MH that I was nesting on Sunday and he was like ‘I’m game. Let’s do it” and we proceeded to spend the whole day cleaning allllll the things and organizing our living space. Still no urge to put the nursery together but I definitely have been needing to clean.
Separately - I’ve been feeling super puffy and my hands and feet keep swelling! It’s not dangerous swelling...but def annoying and my shoes and rings feel too tight. I’ve been getting so overheated lately. I just want to nap in a cool dark room. That’s allll I want.
Has anyone woken up in the middle of the night or morning with cramping that feels like a charlie horse but is your abdomen instead of your leg?? OMG! It's only happened twice, but it's always when I go to stand after sleeping. I end up on all fours on the floor almost in tears for a minute or two!
@BNBT I haven’t ever experienced that in any of my pregnancies. Sounds like it could be RLP but I would definitely mention it at your next appointment.
@BNBT any chance you are having braxton hicks? Mine can be downright painful some times.
I think I broke my back today carrying a 30lb toddler home from the playground. Not going out with her anymore without one of my carriers to put her on my back. It seriously hurts so bad. A bath and trying to relax in bed helped but then if I try to do anything it stabs me again. Blech.
@BNBT - Not in the middle of the night but in the middle of my days last week I definitely had 2 days where I got that intermittently. I would say watch your activity level and drink water. That is what my dr said to do and I haven't had them since last week.
@bnbt I have much more painful rpl and overall crampy feelings in the middle of the night and I think it’s due to not drinking as much water throughout the night. Maybe it is related to hydration?
@purplefan1 I’m having a hard time leaving the house for any outside activities alone with my son for that reason too. He’s a wild one and runs from me and I cannot keep up right now due to how much my SPD hurts.
@rogro118 the SPD is freakin ridiculous this time around. It was so bad last time but not nearly this early. And I think the back pain is related to it. I was over compensating for the SPD causing issues with my gait that my posture was jacked up and now my lower back is so bad. Im going to work on stretching and yoga to loosen some things gently and may ask for a referral to a PT to see what they can recommend. Also buying a pregnancu girdle.
@drama_llama Yes! I went to get something out of my freezer this morning and ended up cleaning out my freezer and wiping it down... 🤣. Nesting is at full power!
@purplefan1 I just got one of these support bands this week and so far so good. I haven’t done anything super active in it yet, but it’s definitely supportive so we’ll see if it helps. I tend to have a few days of feeling ok, then the SPD and sciatic pain is back for a few days and I can’t figure out anything that is triggering it. https://www.baobeimaternity.com/
@rogro118 wearing a pair of regular spankx today for a hike we are going on. I can already tell they are helping my back pain because they help me keep my posture correct and they keep my middle in. I also had really bad ab separation after my last pregnancy that I never fixed or worked on so wondering if that is increasing the pain and discomfort. So the spandex helps everything stay in. Hopefully the hike helps loosen some things up in a positive way and I plan on doing some gentle yoga this evening to follow up.
Anyone have carpal tunnel from pregnancy? My right hand/wrist are beginning to feel very weak! I bought a brace to wear but wonder if there is anything else I can be doing to lessen this as I am a teacher.. and NEED my right hand! lol

🙋♀️Over here! I can't grip things with my right hand in the morning until about 9. My midwife suggested a stress ball to squeeze as soon as I wake up in the morning to help the blood flow. She also recommended sleeping on my left side (which, I'm learning, is hard to train your body to do!)
Does anyone have experience with low blood pressure? I’m on day two of a migraine that turns into a headache with Tylenol and caffeine, but I can’t kick it completely. Normally my migraines go away after a full night of sleep or a long nap. Anyways, I’m always concerned about high bp so I had my husband take mine last night and this morning, and it was 100/70 and 90/60. Just curious if the two could be related, or what could cause low bp. I’m not dehydrated and I’ve been eating a bit, although I’m super nauseous and dizzy. My office doesn’t open for another hour, but I plan on calling then.
@rogro118 I'm not sure, but definitely call in to your office ASAP. 90/60 sounds super low. The lowest reading I've had so far is 110/70 and they didn't seem concerned but coupled with a headache that won't quit, they might want to have you come in. Keep us posted
@rogro118 - I know I run low as a baseline so that wouldn't be a terrible number for me but if that is not near your baseline then it more cause for concern.
@rogro118 I've always had low bp, and it gets even lower during my pregnancies. I had a lot of dizziness during my first trimester. My OB said to drink lots of water, otherwise he wasn't concerned unless I was fainting. However, I would call your office to be safe, especially if it seems like these symptoms are sudden, or your bp dropped drastically. Keep us updated!
@dancer688@ABabyMarshall thanks ladies. They said to call if my head gets any worse. Apparently blood pressure can be lower during end of second tri. However, I’m going to monitor it anyways just in case because it kind of freaks me out! Baby is moving a ton so I’m not concerned on that front.
I get low BP during pregnancy too. Mine is typically lower when not pregnant so I’m sure that plays a role. I have to purposefully eat salty foods and stay out of situations where I get over heated and can’t cool down. I have never had headaches that accompany it though. My only symptom is being dizzy, lightheaded, and losing vision (basically blacking out. I haven’t actually passed out from it but I know that is also a possibility.
Also on the low BP train. Although my lower number gets lowest during pregnancy while my upper number stays fairly the same. I think last week I was 120/60. Keep track of it and dont stand up too fast from sitting or laying down and be cautious in warm showers
Thanks for the input everyone! Mine was always normal to high last pregnancy so it’s throwing me through a loop. Going to make an effort to eat more salty foods I suppose, and get better at drinking electrolyte drinks daily to hopefully avoid this feeling in the next few months!
Anyone starting to feel like the baby is “falling out?” I am 24 weeks with twins. I don’t remember feeling like this until very near the end of my other two pregnancies.
@huskey2bus I can feel the baby sitting low in my pelvis but I’m definitely not feeling like he is about to fall out. I usually don’t feel like that until I reach 34/36 weeks.
@dani_0921 I have the back/butt pain too! Mine is only on the right side. The oddest movements kill me, but when I’m up and walking in usually fine. Is this sciatic nerve stuff? Going to ask my doc at my appointment next week. Holy shooting pain!
@drama_llama I am absolutely highly reactive! This is exactly how I described it to my doctor. It’s like all my feelings are supersized. Sending love your way!
