Re: Weekly Check In, 6/17

  • @lillywonderland Thanks for starting this all the time! I was going to attempt to today, but got hung up on the GTKY and FTM/STM Qs. Speaking of shopping carts -- I was waiting in the car yesterday and the lady next to us totally left her shopping cart right next to our car. She even saw me look at her and just did it anyway. The cart corral was literally three stalls away. WTH people.

Estimated due date/ weeks + days: 26 weeks today! Due 9/23

FTM: Did you count this as your SO’s first Father’s Day? If so, what did you do?
I wanted to, but DH seemed firmly against it. He got so awkward and uncomfortable when people wished him a happy Father's Day. I think *TW* after our loss last year on 6/15 we were both hyper aware of how horrible Father's Day weekend was last year and that there are no guarantees. End TW* Sorry for the downer.

Team pink/blue/green: Add up your scores!! Are they correct?
    Hmmm. About 50/50 lol.

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: a bundle of kale. Eye lashes have formed!

Upcoming Appointments: Not until mid July. I had my glucose test on Friday and passed.

How are you feeling?: Good! I am realizing I need to tone back my workouts. I did a TRX type workout on Saturday and then went on a long walk yesterday and I'm really feeling it.

Rants/Raves: I mentioned this in the randoms, but I am in Portland this week for work. I fly out in a bit, but I have a feeling that I'll be able to interact on here quite a bit this week. I will mostly be sitting in conference sessions, so get ready!

    Questions: Nope

GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve? I try to not let it bother me, but people who are chronically late really get on my nerves. My SIL is infamous for this. We are always waiting on her and I find it to be so rude and inconsiderate.

  • Estimated due date/ weeks + days: 9/9  /  28+1

FTM: Did you count this as your SO’s first Father’s Day? If so, what did you do? Yes we did, and nothing particularly special. DH loves working on projects so he was in the garage most of the day working on what will eventually be a mudroom-type built in; then we had my dad over later on for steaks.

Team pink/blue/green: Add up your scores!! Are they correct? Team Blue. 8/12 (didn't do the ring test) say boy!

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: Baby is over a foot long and over 2 pounds which is so hard to believe.

Upcoming Appointments: Next Tuesday - I've graduated to the every other week appointments!

How are you feeling?: Good. Baby is kicking up a storm. Still trying to take as many walks as possible.

Rants/Raves: I know it's only Monday but I'm so looking forward to the weekend! Leaving Thursday after work to visit my grandpa, which is awesome because 1) no work on Friday; 2) he lives at the beach; 3) it's the first time I'm seeing him since March, so the first time he'll see the baby bump in person

    Questions: Nope

GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve? When people cross a double yellow line to pass slow drivers/ trash trucks/ etc. in the oncoming traffic lane, or when people turn in front of oncoming traffic. There is NOWHERE I need to be 2 minutes faster that I would risk a head-on crash for.

@kgg2241 oooooh Portland! I love Portland!! DH lived there for a couple years (before I met him) and I’ve tagged along on some of his work trips up there. I would just wander around the city when he worked. 😂 We took a trip to Bend once and it was AH-MAZING!! The mountain biking there was so much fun! I am having a hard time coming up with the newer questions we added so they might be lame from now on. LOL. Also, I dunno if I asked the pet peeve one already. I’m perpetually either just on time or 5 mins late. Most of the time I can blame it on the traffic here tho!!

  • Estimated due date/ weeks + days: 27w3d, due 9.13

STM/ STM+: How was your Father’s Day? Anything special? We didn't do much--got cards for DH, and our older girls made crafts for him at summer camp last week. Went out to lunch and then went out for DQ ice cream last night.

Team pink/blue/green: Add up your scores!! Are they correct?  I was almost all girl on scores, and yep, this is girl #3!

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: a small fox (that seems really big!)

Upcoming Appointments: Today, I have a derm appointment (yearly skin check, I've had precancerous moles removed before)...not OB-related, though. Tomorrow is my 28-week appointment with a growth u/s, repeat 1-hr glucose, TDAP, rhogam, or as my NP put it...ALL. THE. THINGS. :D

How are you feeling?: Knock on wood, I've felt pretty darn good the last couple of weeks. I had a rough second tri, glad to be moving into 3rd. (I know, I'm backwards...)

Rants/Raves: Rant: Our favorite brewery had my favorite beer on tap on Saturday, a limited-release mini keg, so it didn't last long. Annnnd, the distillery down the road from the brewery had live music and a Filipino food truck the same night. It would have been the ultimate date night, but really pointless to drive an hour to go to these things when I can't even partake. :-/

Questions: Any other moms with RA? I'm doing something different this pregnancy, and not trying to breastfeed at all, so that I can go back on my biologic meds asap after delivery and hopefully avoid the post-hormonal crash that usually happens. (Plus I had a breast reduction last year and not sure if they will even produce milk anymore...) Anyway, wondering what your postpartum plans are for managing your RA?

GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve? The summer heat and feeling overheated all the time. I've been sleeping alone (sorry, DH), and have our windows open on 50-degree nights, and it *barely* feels cool enough for me!

  • @cammie0526 Awww, so cute you’re excited to see your grandpa. I bet he’s tickled blue to see baby Boy growing away!!

@nomangos23 My sister just had her 16wk appt and her BP dropped a significant amount from the week before. Her doctor just told her to rest for now, and I told her to to watch for dizziness, fatigue and drink plenty of extra water. And eat smaller meals so her sugar levels don’t spike/crash hard. Have you had your iron levels checked again? Do you or your Dr. think your low BP could be due to your thyroid?
Also, holy crap you had a lot of 💩 happen this past weekend/week. I hope things are on the upward swing for you! Yay Crib!! Is the the same one you showed us earlier?
No theme yet prolly will just do what I want on the cheap and sly and not tell him, LOLOLOLOLOL. I showed DH a couple options for paint colors before I went and picked out samples and he was okay with them. It will be a mint/aqua.

  • @lillywonderland ugh people who don’t return carts are the worst! I recently read some comments on a FB post from people who say they’re “keeping cart boys employed” by not returning their carts. It is infuriating.

@kgg2241 people who are perpetually late is also a pet peeve for me. It’s not that hard to wake up and plan your day to get somewhere on time.

@cammie0526 Yay for vacay! I have to admit I’m guilty of passing on a double yellow if I have a clear view of sight and never a slow driver, just trash trucks and farm equipment!

@nomangos23 Yay for getting the crib ordered! Your pet peeve is why I axed the name Gemma. I love it, but I can just see all the Jenna comments.

@jaykay2004 What a bummer! I can’t wait to have a good craft beer again. I have a feeling this is going to be one super hot August/September 😭

    Estimated due date/ weeks + days: 25+6

STM/ STM+: How was your Father’s Day? Anything special? DS woke up with a fever and nasty cough so we stayed home. I let DH sleep in longer than usual, and made his favorite meal.

Team pink/blue/green: Add up your scores!! Are they correct? Pink! Majority were correct!

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: big as a cauliflower and as tall as a chopstick...

    Upcoming Appointments: Glucose next week

How are you feeling?: overall good. I forget I’m pregnant sometimes! I am starting to get pretty uncomfortable though.

Rants/Raves: Getting a 3yo to take medicine will be the death of me

    Questions: nope

GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve?
When people have no sense of urgency.
    MsBeachNJkaceyallanlillywonderland
  • @nomangos23 I was diagnosed with orthostatic hypotension early on in my pregnancy.  My BP is generally low (104/60) but it is really low if I stand in one spot too long (85/50). I've passed out from it and have a few other near misses as well. I'm fine sitting and walking, though. The Cardiologist and MFS both said it is quite common (which is so weird because we usually only hear about high BP.) I was told the same thing: hydrate and electrolytes and "don't stand still for more than 10 minutes." Helpful! *eyeroll* I can't handle regular sports drinks because of my bariatric surgery so I drink Vitamin Water Zero. My cardiologist also said to up my salt intake and that a small glass of juice can help if I'm feeling particularly funky (I'm in love with Tropicana pineapple mango with lime and get that if I have an episode).

@jaykay627 I had the same thing happen with a local brewery. They make an insane Russian Imperial Stout that I love and they did a special batch with the second runnings as a milk stout. They also added a Nitro Irish stout to the tap and this all happened in the dead of winter when I drink stouts and was just pregnant. Rude.
  • @cmdesigner ooo thanks for the juice tip! That pineapple mango sounds amazing! And yeah, my doc said the same thing. Also, don’t get overheated. Right lady, I live in Texas.

  • Estimated due date/ weeks + days: 26w4d, 9-19-19

STM/ STM+: Father's Day was good! H made us pancakes, went for a drive, had In n Out for lunch, ordered in Mellow Mushroom for dinner, got stuff done - it was nice!

Team pink/blue/green: We're Team green and I got a tie LOL. I didn't do the ring test because I dont want to at work, ha

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: Boule de Bain aka a rustic bread loaf

    Upcoming Appointments: Friday, GD test

How are you feeling?: Tired and moody and hot. SO HOT. Phoenix in the summer when pregnant and we don't have a pool, omg.

Rants/Raves: I'm hot and moody, haha. My much anticipated hotel pool day on Saturday got cancelled as H had mild food poisoning. I was quite bitter. Rave is omg almost 3rd tri/ 7 months

    Questions: Hmm dont think so

GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve? City buses (they're always blocking the traffic!) and slow drivers/talkers/ walkers/ thinkers. I'm not a patient woman. Also any grammar and spelling stupidity.

  • @cammie0526 have fun at the beach and visiting your grandpa! Sounds like you will have a great long weekend!

@nomangos23 the sugar free poweraid is actually really good! Try that. And ugh, I have a twin and also a name that is easily confused, so people are always getting my name wrong. It is so annoying. And yay for the crib!

@zuuls_mom I'm traveling solo, so I won't get to witness my coworkers letting loose. I'm glad though, since now I have more freedom to take it easy. And LOL and 😭 about your foot/leg/all the things cramping. That would seriously put a kink in the mood.

@cmdesigner I'm sorry your shower is becoming so stressful. I'm glad you out your foot down. You definitely shouldn't need to be doing so much. And good luck at your appointment!
  • Estimated due date/ weeks + days:
9/20, 26w3d. Closing in on third tri

STM/ STM+: How was your Father’s Day? Anything special?
I worked so no. Sorry H. Apparently he spent the day in the yard planting tomatoes and flowers.

Team pink/blue/green: Add up your scores!! Are they correct?
I have 5 for girl and 7 for boy excluding the ring one since I never did that. So I guess it’s correct!

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of:
the size of a mockingbird? But I looked up a mockingbird and they are 8-11 inches and other things say baby is 14-15 inches right now. So The Bump is drunk or something.

    Upcoming Appointments:
Next Thursday. Need to take the GTT 1 hr at some point too

    How are you feeling?:
pretty good this week. I feel so much better on the days I don’t work, it’s weird. My bump feels heavy and I’m just sore when I work. Too much walking? My job is pretty physical

    Rants/Raves:
This little dude is violent today! I both love it and hate it because some of the movements hurt
Not pregnancy related rant: I’m gone every weekend for work from Friday morning to Sunday night. I left the house clean-ish and the kitchen was definitely clean. I came home last night and the counters were dirty, clothes everywhere, dishes in the living room. MH just doesn’t think about this stuff and it drives me crazy. But he spent all day yesterday planting crap, fixing the tiller and snowblower and mowing the yard(that’s at least one thing that needed done) I find it infuriating. I want to come home to a clean house like he does during the week.

    Questions:

GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve?
Heh, see rant I guess. I have a lot though. MH leaving cabinets open, leaving the microwave open, not walking 6 steps to the trash to throw stuff away.
Not related to MH, people that clip their nails in public. So gross!
    MsBeachNJkaceyallanlillywonderlandhouse_of_boys_is_getting_a_girl_
  • @lillywonderland I feel so old at the end of the day too :( Getting off the couch is... interesting
I also hate when people don't put carts away! I've heard people say "they pay someone to do that". Uh, they pay someone to get they from the corrals! Not to collect them when they blow half a mile away and hit my car! And most places probably don't have a dedicated person anymore.

@kgg2241 sorry about your loss last year, so close to Father's Day too :( That would make celebrating hard until baby is actually here.

@nomangos23 oh no, it sounds like you had a rough weekend! I hope the tree didn't fall/hit anything! Sorry about your food and tire. Crib is exciting at least!

@jaykay2004 a small fox? I'm hoping super small because yikes. I can't imagine a fox smaller than my chihuahua and I feel like she's about the size of baby right now

@duewithpu2 I hate getting stuck behind someone walking or driving slow. Speed it up! I'm pretty impatient though, ha

@cmdesigner sorry your shower is stressful :( You shouldn't be having to worry about that! That card is pretty cute!

@nda_roxybabe you'll have to do the ring test later to break the tie! Sorry it's so hot :( I was hugely pregnant in the winter last time. Did not really think about being huge in the summer, but it's going to suck (if it ever gets and stays hot here, silly Michigan)
    lillywonderland
  • @lillywonderland Good luck at your apt tomorrow, mine glucose test is Friday, eekk!

@kgg2241 Good for you for working out. The most I’ve done is walking. Hopefully your conferences aren’t too boring

@cammie0526 Enjoy your trip! That’s so exciting.

@nomangos23 Good luck at your apt tomorrow. Whenever I feel a little off I drink a powerade zero, maybe something like that will help? Yay for the crib!!!

@jaykay2004 Sounds like an action packed apt! Good luck with all the things. Do you know what formula you are planning on using yet?

@duewithpu2 Hoping DS is feeling better. What did you make DH?

@cmdesigner Sorry you have SPD, hope you can feel somewhat ok the next couple months. Good for you for enjoying your shower day! Walk in when everything is done and enjoy it, isn’t that the point?

@zuuls_mom Good luck at your apt! Seriously still puking? That sucks, sorry you have to deal with it. Your body cramping totally made me almost pee my pants when I read that lol

@nda_roxybabe Hey apt buddy! Girl find yourself a pool and stay in it!

@calliah Oh husbands and their versions of clean…I suffer from the same thing. I always make sure sink is empty but somehow DH and my kids seem to use every single cup and bowl in an 10 hour time frame from when I’m gone.

    zuuls_momlillywonderland
  • @jaykay2004 Glad you're starting to finally feel better! Hopefully that lasts! Also, major booo to missing out on all of the good food and drinks in town.

@lillywonderland I ended up ordering the rushy-looking wooden crib rather than the blue set. I basically said I would order whatever set back back in stock first. It was the wood :) I love that you're sticking to your mint/aqua color. I think you can get by with "no theme" for DH's sake but still have a really cute little room put together for baby girl. Wall hangings aren't that expensive, plus some cute curtains and adorable crib sheets and you're set!

@zuuls_mom Your father's day sounds really lovely! I'm sorry you're still dealing with nausea and vomiting, plus the charley horses... yuck. You are a brave woman for having a second! If I felt as bad as you have been, we'd be a one kid family. (I say that.... )

@nda_roxybabe Glad you're back!! Girl yes I don't know how you're managing being in Phx. It's been a cool summer so far here in TX and even on the hot days (90 has been the hottest so far) I'm dying. I've got my little plastic pool that I sit in but doubt it will last me far into the summer.

@calliah Plus one for having a messy husband. If I travel I usually come back to the house a wreck... Although, he's never left the microwave open before... lol

  • @cmdesigner Oooo, imperial stouts are my all time favorite! DH was drinking a barrel-aged sour yesterday that smelled so tasty... I told him he has to plan a "baby is here" dark beer party for me! haha

@calliah Ovia app says fennec fox, to be exact. I had to google, it's a tiny little fox about the size of a chihuahua, so good estimate there! :)

@supermom34482 I don't know what formula yet--I wish I could stockpile, but you never know what baby will like. My first would take anything, second would only drink Enfamil Gentlease. I'm hoping baby likes one of the regular formulas (i.e., plain Enfamil or Similac) because our pediatrician's office will give tons and tons of free cans at every appointment...to where you barely have to buy your own to supplement. Our home daycare provider that baby will go to usually buys the Sam's Club regular or sensitive, so hoping this one doesn't need something really special like Nutramigen or something. Also, your SN always throws me off bc my birthday is 3/4/82, and I always read it wrong without the extra '4'. :)

@nda_roxybabe omg, slow people in general! I am also not patient, and slow thinkers/talkers drive me batty! My sweet 4 yr old takes for.ev.er. to spit out a story or a question, and I'm always having to remind myself to be patient and not try to rush her. (If she were an adult, I'd tell her to move it on along, I don't have all day!)

@lillywonderland ooo, sciatica pain here, too. Have you tried a chiropractor? I've been going even since before I found out I was pg...it doesn't "fix" sciatic pain since it's generally caused by pressure on the nerve from baby, but getting the rest of me adjusted helps me deal a lot.

STM/ STM+: How was your Father’s Day? Anything special? Let DH sleeping cause our daughter thought 4 am was a good time to wake up. Then we just hung out and had bbq for supper and he played with his new air compressor after supper.

Team pink/blue/green: Add up your scores!! Are they correct?  team pink and we were 8/5 for a girl.

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: of a rollerblade

Upcoming Appointments: June 26 just a check up.

How are you feeling?: Good. The sciatica pain is real some days along with the heart burn.

Rants/Raves: had a great weekend with DH and daughter. We walked in our local pride parade with my work. And just had some family time.

  • @nomangos23 my pregnancy with DS was awful too (horrible MS until 26 weeks and then it came back at 34, high BP, horrific heartburn resulting in me puking acid, etc.) and he was not an easy newborn so I really considered being one and done at first. And then, he got so cute and fun and awesome and all of my bad memories just sort of faded away. And well, here we are lol.

  • @lillywonderland Good luck at your appointment! Fx you pass! I am totally fessing up to being one of those cart people sometimes... (ducking for cover) LET ME EXPLAIN! If I have a cart full of stuff and my daughter is with me, I put her into the car first, and then load everything into my car. I won't walk away from the car with my daughter inside for fear of creeps and kidnappers (high anxiety mom over here) so I sometimes have to leave the cart in front of my car... I don't do it if I'm alone or if I have my husband with me though!!

@kgg2241 Hope you enjoy the time away & your conferences this week!

@cammie0526 Aw, have fun with your granpda! Sounds like a great trip.

@nomangos23 wahoo a crib! That makes things a bit more real, right?

@jaykay2004 honestly not being able to drink in the summer is even harder than I thought it would be!! This is my favorite time of year to drink, I miss Rose & Margaritas!!

@duewithpu2 Hope your son is feeling better! What kind of medicine are you trying to get in him? My daughter is also 3 (this week) and I still use the syringes that they give you with infant medication to give it to her. If its a pill form I've crushed it up in chocolate syrup or applesauce.

@cmdesigner I hope your shower goes amazingly well!! Can't wait to hear all about it!

@zuuls_mom good luck with your appointment tomorrow! Fx you pass!

@nda_roxybabe sorry your pool day got ruined, sounds like you need to book a new day asap!

@calliah that would make me really ragey regarding the mess too!! I'm sorry that happened, hope he shapes up!

supermom34482 good luck with your appointment Friday! How are we already approaching 2 week appts?! Crazy!! I hear you on the loud chewers.... it is definitely my #1 pet peeve!!

    Estimated due date/ weeks + days: 9/15 - 27 weeks 1 day

FTM: Did you count this as your SO’s first Father’s Day? If so, what did you do?
    -or-
STM/ STM+: How was your Father’s Day? Anything special? We spent the weekend celebrating Fathers Day. Saturday we had his family over for a BBQ, Sunday morning my daughter and I woke up early and walked to get DH his favorite breakfast sandwich and then gave him his presents, Sunday afternoon we went to a Pool Party/BBQ with my entire family. Was a hectic weekend that left me overtired and so sore from being on my feet too much, but DH deserved all the celebrations.

Team pink/blue/green: Add up your scores!! Are they correct? We are team green, but 9/12 lean towards girl! (we didn't do the ring test).

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of:  Camping lantern according to Ovia

Upcoming Appointments: Next monday is my glucose test! Fx!

How are you feeling?: Overly tired, sciatic pain, and overall uncomfortable.

Rants/Raves: Scored a Dutalier glider & ottoman off FB marketplace for $50 this weekend! Its a wooden frame, so we'll just replace all the cushions from Dutaliers website directly and then we have a brand new glider :) We have this brand from my daugther but she isn't ready to give up her chair just yet, so we just got a second one for the new nursery. Pumped to get such a steal!

Questions: Any STM have experience with diastasis recti? I feel like that is what is happening to my upper stomach right now and I'm nervous for how it will heal post pregnancy... looking for insight from anyone thats experienced it!

GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve? People that show up to a party before the party starts (I'm not talking 5 minutes, I'm talking an hour +) DH and I always disagree on this because his extended family tends to show up WAYYYYY early, I'm talking, I haven't showered yet, or the baby is in the bath, or I'm running around trying to blow up balloons and set up things and they're expecting to be hosted early. It infuriates and stresses me to no end... on the other hand my entire family is usually late, so he thinks thats incredibly rude... which I don't disagree with, but I'd rather have extra time to be setting things up as a host rather than still in my cleaning clothes, stressing that the dip can't get put out yet because the party doesn't really start for another hour + and these ppl expect to be hosted/fed right now!

  • @cmdesigner I’m right there with you nesting! Unfortunately I feel like I’m noticing every speck of dirt or dust making me feel like the whole house needs thrown away.

@nda_roxybabe no pool in Phoenix should be illegal! I can’t even imagine handling pregnancy in the temps you guys get.

@calliah are we married to the same person? MH has no concept of cleaning up after himself. It is so incredibly infuriating.

@supermom34482 thanks! DS is doing ok just a bad cold. I made cheesy steak wrapped asparagus and home made mashed potatoes! I agree with you open mouth chewing is disgusting

@kdl89 that’s awesome you took your daughter to pride! My best friends work had a float in Pittsburgh’s pride parade. I was so jealous watching all her videos from it.

@MsBeachNJ omg why on earth would people show up that early. That would be so annoying! I have to give him Motrin and Mucinex. He does ok with the Motrin, but the Mucinex is admittedly disgusting and it’s such a struggle. I also still use the syringe and he takes little sips but he hates that it’s sticky. I wish I could find it in pill form! He takes Zyrtec nightly for allergies and he loves it. He takes it out of the little cup no problem.

Wishing everyone with glucose tests coming up the best of luck!!!
@lillywonderland yes, I feel ancient in the evenings!

@kgg2241 hope you enjoy your work conference!

@cammie0526 glad you get to see your grandpa soon!

@nomangos23 oh no, what a bummer of a weekend, I hope this week is looking up. (That's great about the crib, though!)

@zuuls_mom your father's day sounds like so much fun! (Your rant is cracking me up but I feel bad because that sounds like a major bummer!)

@MsBeachNJ I'm with you, that is arriving way too early! My BIL and his family turned up an hour later than they had estimated (they're known to be not punctual, they let us know they were running late, it was totally fine) and DH was briefly like well we might have done XYZ in the morning if we'd known...and I was just like no I don't think we would have, and thank goodness we have more time to clean the kitchen!
    Estimated due date/ weeks + days: 9/6, 28w3d
STM/ STM+: How was your Father’s Day? Anything special? I kept forgetting it was Father's Day, though I remembered long enough to give DH the card DS and I drew together for him (DH was like 'so which of you colored all this in?' and I was like 'me! our son made all the scribbles!'). I reminded DH to call his dad but only because I try to remind him to call every weekend, not because I remembered it was Father's Day. And I forgot to call my own father, and he was pretty offended when I talked to him today. We had a good day, though! My BIL and his family just moved like 3 hrs away (close by the standards of where the rest of the family is) and they drove down for the afternoon and the cousins got to meet each other, so that was great! And then we got Indian food for dinner!
Team pink/blue/green: Add up your scores!! Are they correct? Team pink! I think it's a fairly even split, but slightly more girl (didn't do ring test).
Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: eggplant
Upcoming Appointments: end of the month for routine OB appt
How are you feeling?: Sciatica!!! And my whole left leg is trying to peace out on me - that's the side with the sciatica pain and I've got some gnarly looking spider veins and I think I'm getting some varicose veins in that leg too. By evening I'm usually struggling to get around. I was on my feet for almost all of yesterday and was a mess in the evening.
Rants/Raves: Really happy DS got to meet his uncle and aunt and cousins! (And DH and I were happy to see them too!) I can now see baby girl moving from the outside when she's really kicking/rolling around, which is kind of surreal but also awesome! And I'm about to cut up the pineapple after taking like 25 awkward selfies with it :D - I'm looking forward to eating it! I've been feeling overwhelmed with everything that needs to be done/I need to be doing, and with how busy DH is. This feeling seems to arrive/depart in waves (and isn't exclusive to being pregnant) so hopefully it ebbs this week. We did the hospital tour and it's a good thing too - it's a new building and we were so wrong about where to park! Last time the thermostat wasn't working in the postpartum room we were in and it was tiny, so I'm hoping the whole postpartum experience goes better in this new building. DS came with us, which was discouraged, but he was so quiet the whole time just looking around and listening to the tour and DH actually got to go on the whole thing and DS got complimented at the end! Now I have to fill out the pre-reg paperwork and am procrastinating that for no reason.
    Questions: Not really
GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve? You guys have some good ones - bad/reckless drivers are up there for sure (tailgating and not getting fully into a turn lane to make a turn happen all the time around here and drive me nuts).

STM/ STM+: How was your Father’s Day? Anything special? DD made a card, I just got him a small gift and we went to the zoo.

Team pink/blue/green: Add up your scores!! Are they correct? We are team green. 7/12 in favour of girl. I didn’t do the ring test.

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: foot is the size of a wine cork...now I just want a glass of wine though😖

Upcoming Appointments: Next Monday for glucose and regular checkup next Thursday

How are you feeling?: tired and ready for the school year to be done...8 more days with students.

Rants/Raves: lots of kicks and jabs from baby which is great but I notice it mostly as I’m trying to fall asleep or they wake me up at 4 in the morning.

    Questions:

GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve? Like a lot of you have said already but bad drivers are up there for me

@MsBeachNJ glucose date buddies! That would be a huge annoyance 5-15 minutes is one thing but an hour!

@ternsetc I feel you on the spider and varicose veins. After a day on my feet they are throbbing but only in my right leg.

@cmdesigner I wish I was nesting. My house is kind of a disaster and could use a good mopping but I’m so tired I can’t work up the motivation to do it.

    Yup

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: pomello?

Upcoming Appointments: next thurs for the monthly. Then the glucose and every 2 wk appts begin. Does anything change at the more frequent visits? Jw what all to expect at this point. I hate that my Dr doesn't tell me what's coming next.

    How are you feeling?:
Tired due to not being able to sleep, but overall amazing.

    Rants/Raves:
I feel like I've already posted this thread but maybe not and I'm too lazy to go back and look......

Attending a caring for newborn class sat. Birthing class isn't for another month and I wish they had one sooner.

This little boy is an active fella today. Feel like my bladder is a moon bounce...

Oh and I was getting really overwhelmed bc dh wants to have the driveway resealed. Our driveway is huge with lots of cracks and weeds growing through it so this was going to be a daunting task. Yes. He wanted to do it on his own. It was going to take several weeks. Found a company to do it for only a few hundred more than it was going to cost on material. So excited to have this weight lifted,  the time back, and to come home one day and ta daaaa......ur driveway looks pretty again.

    Questions:
See above.  What should I expect? More lab tests? Any vaccinations? What do appts start to consist of. Should DH attend every appt...what about once we get to weekly appts? I don't expect him to keep taking off work but idk what to expect at the appts and don't want him to miss anything.
Being a ftm is scary bc I hate the unknown and idk much of anything. My mom went into labor 3 months early with me. Idk what labor even feels like so how would I even know what to do...

  • @cmdesigner I’m sorry that you have SPD. Can you up your chiro appts so you don’t have much down time between them? Also, that card is awesome!!

@jaykay2004 ahhh, thanks for the reminder - I need to try to figure out a time to do my TDAP soon, lol. I literally just rescheduled my yearly derm appt for when I’m on leave (hopefully) before baby. I just don’t want to have to take time off for yet ANOTHER Doctor visit. So. Many. Appts!! DH just visited the chiro and was chatting with him about us and our family and the chiro mentioned that he works on a lot of PG ladies. I might go...but right now the sciatica is totally manageable. It was getting worse, but then stopped for a couple days, and just started up again. Definitely on my mind!!

@duewithpu2 Did you manage to get DS to take his medicine?? “Normal” ones (aka ones that are yummy) are easy for DS to take, but I remember getting him to take the Prednisolone was hell!! That stuff was SO NASTY and I felt so bad. Basically had to pin him down to get him to stay still enough. 😂 Sorry buddy!!

@zuuls_mom Srsly, what @nomangos23 said. LOLOLOLOLOL. How you managed to rally and decide to go for #2 is crazy (but really, honestly, I’d prolly do the same! 😂 ) You deserve all the things for being such a champ during this pregnancy!

@nda_roxybabe Eep. No pool in AZ?! You poor thing!! Sounds like you need a new house to me...😉

@calliah I’ve learned that dudes just don’t “see” things like dirty dishes and literal dirt in the house. I cleaned the entire house this weekend and was patting my back about it and DH was all “...but it wasn’t even dirty...?” 🙄

@MsBeachNJ NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I dunno if we can be friends now!! lol!

@supermom34482 Ooooh, I second you on the hungry train, though not sure if it's true hunger or boredom hunger...annnnnd it felt like this weekend I wasn't hungry at all...weird.

@kdl89 Lol @ letting DH sleep in...it seems like a lot of us did that for Father’s Day!!

@ternsetc Mmmm. Indian food. DH doesn’t like it and I’m not super experienced with it, so we rarely have it. It always tastes so good though!! I love going with my coworkers because they pick out the good things to eat!

@kraane We’re overdue for a zoo visit, glad you had a great day!!

@cateyes543 I hope you guys have a great time celebrating Father’s Day this coming weekend!

    @pj_soccer Your kitchen looks awesome!!

@nightdreamr13 “I hate golf”...them’s fighting words!! It is so relaxing to watch!!! I looooove playing and watching golf. DH and I can’t wait until the kids are old enough to join us!!

Haha sorry @lillywonderland it's too slow paced and takes far too long for my short attention span. The only part I really like is when they just barely miss the hole and you can see their bad language. Lol .
    lillywonderland
  • @nightdreamr13 @lillywonderland I will say I struggle watching golf on TV but have a blast playing it! (When it’s a scramble and drinks are involved, that is...)

  • @lillywonderland I’m jealous of your solo time to get stuff done! I need a break without the normal pressure to get done all the usual stuff so I can get thru some more fun baby stuff.

@nomangos my midwife suggested that I start drinking more electrolytes, so she has me do 1L of water mixed with the juice of an orange, grapefruit, or other citrus plus a palm of salt and a palm of ‘sweet component’ (honey, syrup, etc).  Once you figure out the ratios, it’s not bad (especially w grapefruit since it has the most juice) and I have honestly been feeling a LOT better.

@jaykay2004 @zuuls_mom @lillywonderland GL at your appt today!

@cmdesigner (forgive me if you’ve already talked about this and I am forgetting) are you planning to deliver at a birth center? Is it homebirth-y?

@zuuls_mom OMG. SAME on the pet peeve. WHY do you think I typed all those questions out? For fun?

@calliah UGH at your rant. We were having a similar issue at home (DH literally just does not see the crap and/or literally does not care) so we sat down and each made a list of ‘top 5 things that you NEED to have done or else it drives you whacko’ – for me, no clothes/dirty laundry on the tables, no empty crap in the sink, wipe down the toothpaste smudges on the bathroom counters in the mornings, etc.  It gave us a list of tasks to be sure to accomplish for the other, even though they may not be our own personal pet peeves, and has been helpful to making sure we both feel like the house is clean and comfy.

@kraane you have a long school year! Our kiddos last day is today and I feel like we’re the only ones around still in school.

@pjsoccer your kitchen came out beautiful!! I love white cabinets!

@nightdreamr13 nothing changes with the more frequent appts. Same as your usual monthly. Pee in a cup, weight, BP, listen to heartbeat. Answer questions, adioso.

STM/ STM+: How was your Father’s Day? Anything special?  Took DH to a clambake at a golf course in town for brunch/lunch. Food was yummy, but weather was crap! We had a relaxing afternoon, went to Target, and had fake champagne while we ate dinner (well, he had the real stuff).  It was a really good day!

Team pink/blue/green: Add up your scores!! Are they correct?  Pretty much down the middle. Team Pink. But dry skin, dry full hair, sleeping on the left, preferential to salty all ‘boy yeses’.

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: Napa Cabbage. All these huge things you’re all posting are giving me anxiety!

Upcoming Appointments: Not till after 4th of July – will do glucose then.

How are you feeling?: I am definitely notably more exhausted, physically. My body is feeling wiped and my sleep is crummy. My hips kill all night long. Throw in some random bouts of nausea/MS which have been especially pleasant.  But otherwise, no major complaints.  I go back and forth between ‘OMG only 14 more weeks’ and ‘OMG 14 weeks is SO LONG’.

Rants/Raves: Rave: bikini wax at lunch today didn’t hurt half as bad as the last time I got one (last month). I’ve literally been dreading this appointment since the minute I walked out last time. Rant: SO.MUCH.TO.DO.  SO.TIRED.

    Questions: nope

GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve? People who don’t watch after their own kids. I have my own kids I’m keeping an eye on. Just because my kids are playing with yours doesn’t mean I want to be keeping an eye on yours too.

    MsBeachNJlillywonderland
  • @lillywonderland he takes Zyrtec at night no problem. Loves it. He is pretty good with ibuprofen, but he’s on Mucinex right now and you’d think the world was ending lol. I tried it and it really is nasty.
    lillywonderland
  • @kiddiesandkitties omg yes to people who don’t watch their kids! My best friend is notorious for that and her kids are BAD. She doesn’t see it and laughs their behavior off as cute or funny. I love her but her kids are hard to be around.
  • @kiddiesandkitties How is your DD? I meant to ask you earlier, but totally forgot. Did they ever figure out what the allergic reaction was from?

Also, @nomangos23, @nightdreamr13 Have you seen some of the young guns who play golf nowadays? It makes it a bit more exciting, LOL. Holy cow, Brooks Koepka (who nearly won the US Open this year) - even DH said he was a handsome dude.

@kiddiesandkitties We are going to a hospital owned birth center with a midwife. New York has some strict regulations on maternity care so it is a cottage attached to a small local hospital. They have a hallway that connects from the main hospital for OR staff to quickly get in as they have 2 c-section suites in the building separate from the main hospital. There's a dining room, kitchen, and the rooms are all private and but still have the standard hospital beds in them. They're decorated to be a bit warmer and homier, though. They also have a water birthing suite. There are only 10 rooms in the entire center (plus the 2 ORs). They said they average 3 births per day so it is rather quiet in there...except last night. They had 7 active labors while we toured! It was a full moon, lol. They said this is extremely rare for them and they brought in extra midwives for the moms.

Edited to add: they have a 1:1 ratio for nurse to mom and will call on-call nurses in to assist if the night becomes a bit wild.

It is definitely a different and more relaxed vibe than a standard maternity ward. They really do let you make the place your own and said we can even have live music, haha. It's really chill and the midwives are all very sweet. We had a great, informative tour last night and after we left MH was like "wow, that didn't feel like a hospital at all. I get why you picked here." So, that speaks volumes to me.

  • @lillywonderland Argh! It drives me nuts when people leave their shopping carts in the vehicle parking spots! HOW can you be that lazy?! Park near the shopping cart return if it's just too difficult for you to walk it over after you unload your groceries.

@cammie0526 Don't even get me started on terrible, risky drivers! I drive the highway everyday and it is absolutely mind blowing how many people cut others off when it is very unsafe to do so! They only have to wait an additional few seconds to turn on safely, but they never do.

@zuuls_mom That happens to me at work all of the time! So annoying. Do you want me to do my job and get you your stuff on time? Yes? Then answer my damn questions! I'm not emailing to waste time!

@pj_soccer I keep bumping into everything too! Poor babe. Haha And your kitchen looks great!!
