@calliah, no I never had GD with my other pregnancies, but I had autoimmune pancreatitis recently, and drs are concerned my pancreas isn't doing what it's supposed to. :-/
@rms924 I know this sounds ungrateful, but I get so sick of how often everyone asks "How are you feeeeeeling?" in that amazingly high pitched, sing song voice that I swear is only reserved for pregnant ladies. Although they'd probably never ask again if I told them how I actually feel. (BTW, in this dream scenario, the last sentence would be "and I haven't pooped in 3 days...") @nomangos23 I'm so sorry about the loss of your and YH's friend. Sometimes I hate GoFundMe, but in cases like this, it's really nice to see a tangible expression of how much people care. @supermom34482 I've been on small meals more often for a while now. I don't love it because I feel like I'm always eating, but it has made such an improvement on how I feel (and how well my digestive system works). So it has definitely been worth it. @zuuls_mom I'm so sorry you've been back on the MS train This little girl better be the easiest newborn on the planet for you!!! Aaaaah! @lillywonderland your DS in his adorable little sunhat I miss the beach so much! @LJmoon6 I'm not much of a pudding person, but saw this box of Godiva (I think?) chocolate pudding at the store the other day and it was a test of will not to buy it. It just looked so gooooood! I've been having decent luck controlling the back pain with stretching and using the belly support band if I'm doing any sort of extended standing. Otherwise, it's brutal. @themadcamel what's "soulless" broccoli?!? Also super jealous of your closet remodels. @ternsetc congrats on passing the GD this time! My iron was on the low side too- what prenatal with iron are you switching back to? @mommyshark13 OMG I FORGOT ABOUT S'MORES!!! Have you ever switched up the plain chocolate to something a little more... daring? Like a Reese's cup or something with caramel? Mmmmm.... @calliah "why is this the only way to make people?" And having to retire comfy clothes is the worst. I know it's for a good reason, but having to buy bigger stuff makes me sad and feel like I'm this always expanding blimp.
@rms924@calliah I met with a coworker yesterday (she's a doula) and was just brutally honest about how I was feeling and it was SO refreshing to not be looked at like I was a terrible human for not enjoying my pregnancy. I'm so, so excited to meet my baby girl but as I said to MH "I am not a graceful pregnant woman."
@RedBreast35 I got the NatureMade prenatals but I don't really like them - the pills fill my mouth with a fishy kind of taste and they're huge! I'm going to finish the bottle though, and the bottle's not small.
@themadcamel hahaha, that's great! And I thought you just really hated broccoli !
@janat1717 hope the levels of your tests yesterday come back good!
FTM: What is one summer activity you can’t wait to share with your LO? Going to my family cabin and spending time out on the lake!
Team pink/blue/green: Do you have your name picked out? (STM/STM+) Is it leftover from your older LO? Team pink and no where close on a name yet. DH and I can't agree on any girl names
Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: babys foot is one inch wide
Upcoming Appointments: glucose test on Monday
How are you feeling?: Waking up 1 to 2x a night to pee in the last week, and have to walk downstairs to our bathroom may have to move down to our guestroom on the first floor soon to be closer to the bathroom lol
Rants/Raves: I took my 3 nephews to my parents house for a long weekend (they live 4 hours away) and as much as I love them they are exhausting! Makes me wonder how I am going to manage being a mom..
Questions:
GTKY: The best summery dessert is... I am always in the mood for icecream in the summer! Also love me a taffy crack, not sure if this is a common thing outside of my family or not? Instead of a marshmallow you roast a caramel and put it between Ritz crackers with Hershey chocolate
@nomangos23 most of my workout pants are getting tight too. It sucks! But I’m not buying new crops so I guess I’ll either be uncomfortable or look funny with them rolled down. 🥀 At least they are only worn at home
@rms924 I agree! Yes, it is amazing but it’s incredibly hard on the body. Men don’t understand and the olds tend to forget. I want a third but I don’t know if I can put myself though this again.
@jaykay2004 ah, I understand. That sucks. I’m sorry about the pancreatitis. I’ve had patients with that and it sounds super painful. I hope it hasn’t been giving you much trouble during pregnancy.
@RedBreast35@themadcamel@zuuls_mom lol, I was having major trouble yesterday figuring out what soulless broccoli was. Thanks for clearing that up! Lol
@diner04 don’t worry about being able to handle being a mom, you’ll do just fine ❤️ My 5 year old has been challenging the past couple months and I wonder what we’re doing adding another, but I know ultimately it will be ok. They just need to be loved. (Well, and fed, given a home and clothed, but those are the easy parts)
@diner04 My sister gave me the best advice ever when I explained to her that I was always exhausted after visits with her and her two kids and wondered myself how I could do it. The truth is, you will literally grow with your kid. They don’t come out as super energetic toddlers - they start with the most basic of needs (eat / sleep / poop) and then expand from there.
@diner04 taffy crack sounds amazing. I hate marshmallows and always miss out on the smores experience so I'll be trying these! I make chocolate sandwiches....hershey between Graham crackers and microwave it. Hahah. And if you trade the Hershey with a Reese cup...well I know what I'm getting for lunch today lol. Soooo good!
@supermom34482 hold up...these babies are arriving in 11 to 13 wks? Please pardon me while I go have a panic attack! I actually like him inside for now...for the most part.
The labor and delivery prep thread is making me feel so unprepared and anxious. This is my first baby so I thought I was doing well with the 'you can't predict it so just go with the flow and worry about it when the time comes' philosophy. Clearly I have some research to do and decisions to make.... :-/ I don't even know where to start or what to expect. Weve been so busy trying to finish home projects and figured the birth would be figured out in sept....we are taking a caring for newborn class next wkend and a birthing class in july. Hopefully that helps.
@nightdreamr13 I don't know if you have commuting time or whatever, but Birth Without Fear is a great audiobook that fits well into your philosophy of "what will be will be." At the same time, it does give you actionable things you can do that aren't totally overwhelming (and I love that the author is so nonjudgemental and inclusive!)
@nightdreamr13 Same here! My "birth plan" right now is still to get to the hospital, get an epidural when I can, and do what the nurses/doctors tell me to do. I know I'm being naive but I figure this baby is coming out of me one way or another.
@nightdreamr13@cammie0526 I'm in the same boat as you ladies! FTM and dont really have a plan besides trusting in the medical staff to help me through it at this point!
@diner04 I agree with all the other ladies. When you watch a hyper toddler or an even more active 5 year old it's like, ummm, yeah, I can't keep up with that. But you get a nice slow adjustment to it over those years between birth and those ages. I have an almost-2-year-old and went to a 5 year old's birthday party and was very overwhelmed by the sheer energy coming out of every 5 year old there. Haha. But I've adjusted to the 2 year old energy level without issue, so I'm sure I'll be fine.
Also - taffy crack!?!? That sounds amazing. Does it matter what kind of caramel you roast?
@cmdesigner The summer beach house sounds so amazing!! That will be so awesome for next year with your LO. Also, I freaking love the name you have picked out!
@nomangos23 I am so sorry to hear about your DH losing his friend. That is so incredibly rough. I hope your DH can get past the feelings of guilt.
On a lighter note, your dessert descriptions have me drooling.
@duewithpu2 LOVE that name so much! I asked my DH if he liked Sutton.. it didn't go over too well. I also liked Jane as a first name and he shot that down too.
@mommyshark13 Ahhh, your name is beautiful too! These girl names are giving me all of the feels! And Smores! Yesss please! Best camping/sitting around the firepit memory as a kid!
@calliah "Why is this the only way to make people?" OMG no truer statement has been made. Whyyy?!?!
Estimated due date/ weeks + days: 09/15 - 26 weeks + 4 days And to everyone mentioning the weeks we have left; Holy SH!TBALLS I AM NOT READY FOR THIS!
FTM: What is one summer activity you can’t wait to share with your LO? Camping/quadding
Team pink/blue/green: Do you have your name picked out? Team green. I think we have settled on a first choice for each gender, but now we are wanting to have runner ups. Just in case we meet baby and the name we have does not seem to click.
Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: Baby is definitely getting longer! It's weird feeling it across my whole belly instead of in just one area.
Upcoming Appointments: Just did my glucose test yesterday (yuck!), and we have an elective 4D ultrasound on Monday which I cannot wait for! It's a nice little Father's Day event for my DH.
How are you feeling?: Overall, quite well considering how much worse it could be. But it is still hard not to complain about the back pain and exhaustion. I always find people aren't real enough about pregnancy, so I try to be as honest as possible when people ask me how I am feeling.
Rants/Raves: Rant would be just how bad my back pain is getting. And my ribs hurt. Sometimes it seems hard to breath through the pain. Rave is that my DH is home from work today. This last shift away felt long. I think because I had a cold. So I am very glad to have him home. And our US on Monday has me hyped!
GTKY: The best summery dessert is... watermelon, ice cream (any time of year), and s'mores!
@mamaber2204 my nephews are 7, 5, and 2 and the amount of energy they have is nuts along with the amount of whining and potty talk (they think is hilarious) was driving me a little crazy! But we did have fun as well in between the crazy moments haha and any caramel should do! Just want it in the fire long enough to get melty and a little roasted, I love them so much more than smores!
I always get so behind on this thread and I feel sooo bad! Responding to a few while mobile bumping... work got busy the last few days.
@themadcamel I did buy some stronger stuff this week that my OB said I could take (can't remember what it's called). I haven't had to use it yet. FX my heartburn doesn't get bad again but I'm prepared now! I love your soulless broccoli meaning lol. @lillywonderland I love it when LOs get all quiet when they're super excited and in awe. Your picture at the beach is soooooo cute! Makes me super excited about having a little boy! MH is actually just a lead production operator at a factory. The plant he works at is just so big the city would charge them an arm and a leg to include them in firefighter and first responder services (does that even make sense?). So the company decided to just create their own fire department and have them all be first responder certified. It's completely voluntary. MH loves it. It is pretty dangerous where he works. It's a chemical plant. One call out he went to was for a women who ended up getting drenched in bleach from a pressurized line that broke. MH was one of the first ones there and he spent the whole time underneath the eyewash station holding her eyelids open while another guy help her head in place. Her eyeballs were completely white. He said she did end up healing and getting her eyesight back tho. I like to think MH had a lot to do with it. @calliah That's really good to know that I can take something daily if I need to! @RedBreast35 what kind of belly band do you have (I vaguely remember this same topic coming up on another thread but can't remember which one)? @diner04 That would suck so bad to have to do stairs in the middle of the night to pee. My nonpregnant self is up at least once. Now it's a minimum 3 times. I feel the same way when I'm around my 5 nieces and nephews. How the hell am I going to do this!? They are exhausting!! I love what everyone had to say about it tho. It's so reassuring. We got this! @nightdreamr13 I feel so unprepared after reading the L&D thread too. I haven't thought much about it at all! I like to research the shit out of everything so this is giving me anxiety. I know you have no control over how it's going to go so part of me is just like f it, but then the other part of me wants to know about every scenario. I'm just trying to remind myself to take everything one step at a time. I need to finish the nursery first, have my showere, then get the rest of the baby items, then I can focus on L&D. @cmdesigner Thanks for the audio book recommendations (even tho you weren't talking to me lol). I'm definitely going to look into that one. @kaceyallan When my back pain is at it's worse, it's hard for me to breath too. MH has been pretty good about giving me a couple minute massage when I need it. It helps so much!

@LJMoon6 I got this belly band off Amazon. I honestly don't know if there's much difference between most of the different brands, but this one has been decent- nothing life changing, but definitely helps. I've also been trying to stretch out my back, legs, and hips/hip flexors as much as I can and that seems to be helping the back pain too. That story about YH and the bleached eyeballs is freaky AF!!!
