@Beauxbaton Being completely clueless about typical four year old behavior, I know one year olds in our church nursery who help pick up toys. In the toddler room, there are some who help and some who don't. They seem to all pick up one thing at a time though. No idea what makes one behavior more likely than the other. My heart goes out to you though. I remember being in a Bible study with military wives years ago... One Mom hesitated greatly but then admitted she wanted to throw her kids because they wouldn't listen to her and was asking for prayer. She said one of them actually waited until she counted all the way to five to mind her. She was in tears thinking she was a horrible Mom and thought she was an abuser for having thoughts of throwing them. Because of her willingness to be transparent about the realities of Mom'ing, it inspired other women to open up and soon enough, stories just like hers were being shared. I was just 23/24 at the time and wasn't thinking about kids yet, but I'll never forget her bravery. What I'm trying to say is that I think it's brave of you to open up about it here. It's obvi that you love your kids. Hopefully you feel less alone with the Moms here relating. Also, I hope and pray that some sort of a family routine (helping Mom) will surface very soon that starts working for everyone and will take all of this pressure and stress off of you.
People think we become mothers when we give birth but the truth is we become mothers the moment we start calling our babies to us in our thoughts, dreams and prayers. Some paths are short and some are so long that you can easily forget where you were headed.
