I'm trying to stay active on here, but TB app has just taken a giant shit and I can't do anything but read stuff right now. So I ended up using a desktop which I don't have access too all the time, so it's just whenever I get the chance to log on! @leylea89 I can't do HDBD either
+1 ladies...I sat down to lunch yesterday and realized I forgot my supplements. Went to the kitchen to get them, sat back down and realized I had forgotten them again. Wtf! Sometimes I have to ask other people if they saw me take pills!! I guess I need to announce out loud to myself when I am about to swallow them to burn it into my memory? 🤯
@blackhottamales Getting up from laying down may as well need a court order these days! 😒 love the gif!
@Niesen27 & @expatmom39 I started using a pill holder (those sun-sat am/pm ones) when i was going to through IVF because i couldn't remember everything. it's my lifesaver. There is zero way i would know if I took them without it.
@blackhottamales It's so hard to remember to take things! I take some supplements in bed morning and night, and some things with breakfast, then the others have to be strategically spaced throughout the day because of food intake and glucose readings, it's so frustrating!
I haven't been able to breath through my nose at night since around the time I got the BFP. Finally remembered to buy nose strips, and used it for the first time last night. It was amazing. I didn't wake up with dry mouth, drank less water through out the night & had to pee less!! ❤ Its the little things.
@fromcatstokids oh yeah, i wouldn't have survived the first half of my pregnancy without those nose strips.
I should have gone on "maternity leave" (hard to call it that since i'm a contractor) now just so i can get things done, but i didn't so now i'm stressing. I realized over the next 5 weeks not only do i have weekly OB appointments, i have a hair cut, dentist, two different type of eye doctor appointments, meeting with the new house cleaners, getting the sprinkler system turned on and broken heads fixed...Did i have to schedule all of that, no, so i do have to take ownership on it; however i think it'll be good to have all this done before little one arrives.
Thanks:/ As much as I want baby to stay put as long as possible part of me is hoping that she decides to come a little early just to stop all the throwing up.
Finally got a handle on all the second hand clothes we were given! It feels good to have it all up in her closet and ready to wear!
Also got almost all of the stuff we need yesterday. FINALLY got the carseat, so that was a relief! Just need a couple odds and ends and we're ready! (Ish)
I’m hip swiveling & bouncing on this bouncing ball for HOURS every day. Eating? Bouncing. Playing with the kids? Bouncing? Nap time? Bouncing. In hopes that her head will engage so she won’t flip back up. She’s dropped for sure so I hope it worked 😂
Finally finished cleaning the last room that was left. I'm feeling so much better now that it's all done. Now every day is just cleaning up whatever toys DD didn't put away. I'll pack hospital bags tomorrow since I'm 38 weeks on Monday...and that should be it! Totally done! SO just needs to install the car seat base but he's waiting until after the oil change this week.
@Panaceia I'm jealous that your cleaning is done! My nesting has started kicking in hard core the last couple days. Whose bright idea is it to essentially deep clean the house before baby arrives?! Went through my daughter's room yesterday and all her toys to give to her little sister...that was fun 😂
Now to try to soak a ton of clothes in stain remover that were gifted to us. I appreciate them, but 5 garbage bags full is a bit overwhelming 🤯
@BeatboxBaby I tried convincing DD that her baby toys should go to baby. Nope. She refuses to let baby have any of her things AND she even stole a few of baby's toys and is making a big show out of the fact that they are now HER toys. Yep. The next few decades should be fun:)
I get amped up for labor like it's a race or extreme sporting event. At this point we are just counting down the days. So my anxiety is out of control, my heart races, and I just want to DO THIS!
In my experience L&D can be the most powerful experience of a lifetime. So I actually look forward to it. I imagine this is what marathon runners feel, but I wouldn't know exactly bc I don't run marathons.
@Cbeanz funny you should say marathon. Someone posted an article I saw on Facebook about a study that says pregnancy is as physically stressing as running a marathon or even moreso. I’ll see if I can find it again but it was super interesting and made me feel better about my need for naps. 😂
@BeatboxBaby I'm with you on the hand me downs! I got tons of stuff (this isn't even all of it!) as hand me downs. LOVE IT! Except that half of it is 2T, and I'm over shorting out the stained and wrong size + season clothes.
@Panaceia Haha aww yeah I'm sure it'll be a hard transition! DD keeps goin in LO's room and is like "I want that" or "that's mine" CD just gotta keep convincing her she doesn't need them!
@fromcatstokids oh boy yeah that's a lot haha! The clothes we got prob ranges up to about 12 months. I just can't drag myself to go through the last bag which is mainly pajamas and all stained! It's so tedious 😂
@Panaceia I think nesting is the cruel joke that puts women into labor! Cleaning is such hard work, I wish the past couple weeks were filled with long uninterrupted naps instead of scrubbing toilets and organizing clothes
ok here is my question--when people ask questions in the weekly check in but don't comment or answer anyone else's questions is it rude to ignore them?
@Panaceia@BeatboxBaby I love the stealing of sibling toys and hoarding...😂 My niece was 4 at Christmas this year when she saw people giving me toys for our baby. She’s the youngest in the whole family, and you could see the wheels turning in her head that the colorful stuffed animals and things WEREN’T for her! She was thinking hard about it, reaching for them and then pulling her hands back...🤣
I know it's different--but i'm having a really hard time keeping my dog from stealing LO's stuffed animals! She's old (10.5 years old) but loves her stuffed animals and things everything in this house is hers. She's in for a rude awakening.
@blackhottamales, i don’t think either choice is rude. It’s hard to keep track of check-ins, especially if you are a day or two late. I’m always amazed when folks remember to answer. So I don’t get mad when people don’t. And don’t get mad (and don’t notice) when no one engages on theirs. It’s sort of why I avoid check-ins. I find they aren’t conducive to conversation....
@blackhottamales I don't know; I think it's everyone's choice how much they want to engage. Personally, and just to offer another possible perspective, I've been a mom for six days, so there have been questions over the last nine months that I just couldnt speak to. I've tried to engage when I could, though. I wouldn't think you were rude for not answering someone who doesn't otherwise interact with the board.
@mamanbebe yes, I keep telling myself I need to come over here and post! Baby Girl's got me feeding round the clock but I can surely manage to eke out some time to update my Bumpers.
So I just ordered everything I wanted left on my Target Registry! Thank God for coupons and gift cards 🙏 cut my bill in half! So excited for all these packages to start arriving! Anyone else??
@Niesen27 I just did the same thing with my Amazon registry and then took it offline! I figure no one else is looking for the registry at this point and some of the things that were left I really wanted to have on hand by now! (Mostly BFing related things - everyone wants to buy the cute baby stuff, not the nipple cream 😆)
@acgx haha that's awesome! Only a true friend will buy you your nipple cream! I added things like colace and adult diapers before I ordered so I could get the discount too. That's something I've remembered for my friends is that mom gets a gift and so does baby at the baby shower
Had a checkup today. I was down 2lbs and the kid measured 1/2 cm below where she should be. Dr. said if I have lost more weight by next week or if she's still measuring small, they'll send me for a growth US. Not freaked out or anything, but this is the first time I've heard anything other than "right on target." Kind of sticks with you...
@cindler Try not to worry too much if you can, those measurement and milestones can mess with your head when there is a whole range of healthy. My last fundal measurement was 1/2cm behind and my GD growth check ultrasound showed 60th percentile a few days later. And I would absolutely not worry about the weight loss, baby will take what they need first before your body gets it. Because of my GD diet I've only gained about 7-8 lbs so far at 36 weeks, but baby is healthy and growing as they should, sucking everything out of my body like the adorable little parasite that they are
@cindler I'm not sure how much I trust their measurements and the accuracy. With my first we were always in the lower percentiles. They said if I went full term baby would be like 6lbs maybe 7 tops. Yeah no.....a whopping 8lb 9 oz baby later. So I agree with @mamanbebe just try not to stress too much. Everything about labor and pregnancy tends to be a best estimate and usually turns out to surprise you
