So I'm putting together a coffee club at work, I was very pessimistic about it yesterday but this morning seeing all the responses I feel a lot better about it. Then my boss started throwing out numbers at me and busted my bubble.
  • I keep eating, and I am still just so hungry today!

  • We had a shooter at my old high school last year at the end of May, he got into the gym because the seniors were practicing graduation ceremony. He only shot off, thankfully not at anyone. The teacher he wanted wasn't in the gym then😳😔 we had a resource officer that stopped him, the president even thanked him! My little sister was shook up for weeks, poor thing. It's such a scary world now. As for that poster, I think she left quite a bit out. That or she really has no clue was she's doing🤦🏽‍♀️ I love all your mother's day gift ideas!!! So cute! I have to work Mother's day but I'm gonna go e my mom a gift card for barnes and Noble(she loves to read) and my MIL some coffee (that's all she ever asks for. Ever 😂) I was gonna get the SILs keychains with photos but they never get me anything and I doubt this year will be any different so I'm not spending the money. Besides all of their birthdays are in May, so I just got them bday gifts with a mother's day feel 😂 does that make me awful?

  • @andromedacorrine2 That doesn’t make you terrible! I’ve never gotten a Mother’s Day gift for anyone other than my grandma, mom or MIL
  • Thank you all for your kind words!  ❤️
  • @andromedacorrine2 OK so I know we talked about living close to each other before, but I lived in your hometown before I moved to Florida 8 years ago. I lived in that area my whole life, went to school in the next town over! Such a small world!
I remember hearing about that shooting when it happened.  Too close to home! I also attended NIU when the shooting happened there. Thank God I was not on campus!! It was absolutely devastating. I worked at the bar right next to where the shooter was hiding out before it happened. Still gives me chills to this day. I'm terrified of raising kids and sending them to school.
  • @mrsinterweb Oh, lordie the beet pee. It is definitely not your friend, but beets are just so delicious!

So my daughter scared the crap out of me last night. I woke up and checked the monitor, I couldn't see her in her bed, and she wasn't in my bed. I kept staring at the monitor because I thought okay i'm half asleep shes's gotta be there just maybe tangled with the blankets. I got up to check her room and she's gone. Here ms sneaky left her  bed and went to sleep in the living room. I put her back to bed but of course couldn't go back to sleep myself, I keep watching the monitor. She occasional will sleep walk so I was just paranoid the rest of the night.
  • We went to Boston for a long weekend Thurs-Mon. It was super fun, but I feel like I am STILL exhausted. I need a day of sleep.

I was slightly, but our house is so small I found her rather quickly. I just never went back to bed thanks to my paranoia lol. It's not like her to just not come to our room, so I was super nervous.
  • @Cass005 with my niece it almost became a game of where we’d find her, she never stayed in bed. My favorite snuggled up between the couch and wall.

  • @Cass005 I would definitely have a hard time falling back asleep if I couldn’t find my son in bed, even if it wasn’t long!!

The hunger is real, guys! I’m beginning to want dinner, then second dinner and waking up hungry in the middle of the night! I haven’t gained too much yet but I feel like that won’t last long.

@Cass005 yep, that would have kept me up the rest of the night too. We actually have a gate up so the kids can't leave the sleeping end of the house. Niece use to get up and sneak candy at night so we needed to put an end to that.

Eta...  the reason I came here.... I needed to tell you all how delicious my hostess cupcakes are. Coworker and I were talking about deserts esrlier and well, clearly we know where that led me lol
  • I'm angry and need to vent. Niece was officially diagnosed with ADHD a few weeks ago. Today we had her appt with Pedi to discuss meds. She sent in a script so I called pharmacy to verify pickup time and price. 199$ a month with insurance. What is that BS?! The kid is struggling hard in school. Life at home is 1 step away from hell with her lack of attention and ability to follow any direction. We are going to go broke to stay sane or have to continue to live like this (and really, I'm breaking, I can't do it). I dispise our healthcare system, 100% right now.
  • @prpl11butterfly That's the price WITH insurance? That is just ridiculous! I assume there's no generic version or something that you can get for a lower price?
  • cmbt2cmbt2 member
    @prpl11butterfly that’s INSANE!!

Does your pharmacy have a coupon type program that can help offset the cost?

Oh Wow!!  That doesn’t seem right at all....  I have ADD and take medication (I stopped when I got pregnant).  The way my insurance works is kind of wonky, they do cover name brand but I have to pay $60/month.  They don’t cover one brand of generic so that one costs around $200/month.  They do cover a different generic brand and that costs me $10/month.  So I just have to hope my pharmacy has the right brand.  It is such a pain in the a$$... I’d call your insurance and see what other brands they will cover.
  • DH carries their insurance so he's going to have to call (they refuse to talk to me 🙄). The med is Concerta and I can't quite figure out if there is a generic (quick googling while trying to end my work day). And of course we didn't get back to town from the house showing until AFTER the pharmacy was closed.

@meagan-t I did go on that site and got a coupon that could bring it down to 80ish. Still a lit but if her damn mother would actually pay her support it would cover it.

@emily1052 that's frustrating. You can't plan or budget like that!
  • @prpl11butterfly I took Concerta a long time ago but can’t remember if it was brand or not.  I mean like 10+ years ago so there must be a generic by now.  It didn’t work out for me.  I take Adderall (again, not when pregnant) which is very similar and just worked better for me.  There are plenty of generics for it.  I’m actually shocked that your  insurance even filled a brand name medication.  Mine it totally against it.
And I think it’s BS that the insurance won’t talk to you, you’re the caregiver to a minor that is insured under them.  🤬
  • MA law does require them to fill any RX as generic even if the Dr orders brand. BUT if the pharmacy only has brand in stock nothing you can do. The Dr decided that the Concerta would be better for her because she's not so much hyper as inattentive. Adderall may be better (as it worked well for her dad) but we wanted to try this first.
  • @prpl11butterfly, wow, that's crazy expensive. I hope you guys can find a cheaper solution!
  • @prpl11butterfly so DH is on Concerta similar to what @emily1052 said insurance won’t cover genetic fully but will cover name brand. So it’s definitely something to check with pharmacy. That said though I also know it’s about $800 out of pocket for 30 days

I 2nd this. That's ridiculous, I'm so sorry you have to go through this but I'm glad we're here for you to vent when you need to. Insurance can be so frustrating, especially when it can affect our well being.

DS1 was laying with his head on my belly and DD kicked him LOL. She’s not strong enough yet for him to feel, but I still chuckled

DH is entertaining the kids while I fiddle around in DD’s room. Every time I walk past it (it’s the room right next to ours), my anxiety spikes about not having anything done... so I now have her dresser assembled and tethered and started piling things that I need to wash.

@cmbt2 good for you, I am no where near ready I still have to clean up DD1 and rearrange. I hate that they have to share a room but it'll have to do. Once I get some cleaning done then I can start bringing stuff up.
