Re: TTCAL week of 4/22

  • @hanshotfirst77 that follie count is great!! You might release 2-3!
@ruby696 ughhh it is sooo sucky! I’m sorry you’re in this situation.
@c1kc1kpol1cn1k they’ll have me come in for betas next Friday if I get a positive. I’m also going to be a psycho and test every other day to see if lines get darker 🙃 my RE said if I have some small remaining tissue and I do get pregnant, the new pregnancy will re-absorb it. The body is weird.

  • @chichiphin that is really comforting to know, I have been googling to find out this information but it's so random and unique. I guess it's similar to "vanishing twin sydnrome" I really hope your line get's darker and darker! what test's are you using?
  • @c1kc1kpol1cn1k I'm using FRERs for this. I realize that is costly, but I got 6 of them on amazon for 25 bucks, so it's a cost I'm willing to eat for the ability to truly monitor line progression/regression

  • Thanks, ladies.  I was able to actually help her with something in all of this, which I am thankful for.  She opted for the medication route, and I encouraged her to ask them about using mifepristone and misoprostol in combination, since recent studies show it significantly increases chances of the medications being effective.  Her OB was originally just going to do 2 doses of miso, but after reading about it more, decided to go with the route I suggested.  A few friends and I also pitched in to send her a little comfort package with some lavender lotion, a weighted blanket, and a self-positivity journal.  I hope it helps even just a tiny bit.  :heartbreak:

@chichiphin @ruby696 I hate that you're both stuck in limbo.  I hope the TWW goes by as quickly as possible for you both!  <3

  • @chichiphin that is definitely worth your sanity, also 6 for $25 is a good deal!
  • @chichiphin sorry you are in limbo 😞 that’s so frustrating.

TW: rant about my recent MC
So I got a text this morning that I had missed an appointment. I was supposed to have my 8 week ultrasound today. I never got a reminder call and it wasn’t in my online portal so I assumed they had canceled it due to the MC. So I called and explained the situation and that I needed to make sure all my future appintments were canceled. The lady told me the appointment HAD been canceled and I hadn’t missed an appointment. Then she tells me my next appointment isn’t until May 6th. So I had to tell her - again - that I wouldn’t be needing that appointment.

On the the upside I finally got my beta results from last Friday and it was well below 5...so at least I don’t have to keep going back for blood draws.

  • @MrsJessS that is so frustrating..but also might be a good idea to keep that ultrasound since it's nice to make sure that all is clear post MC, even though your levels are down, you won't know for sure. For example, my levels are at 4 and they still saw a small amount of tissue on the US.

Back for tags in a few minutes.  I didn't post in TB the last couple of days because I would've needed too many tags to fully participate--it was overwhelming, haha.

Introduce yourself and anything you think is important: number of loss(es), when you had the loss(es), diagnosis/conditions surrounding loss, etc.: Late loss Oct. '18, Early loss Jan '19, Chemical Apr '19.

Status: WTO.  When I hit "Charts Like Mine" in FF, it keeps showing me pages & pages of all these charts of Anovulatory cycles, even though it says ONLY 3% of the charts that look like mine are Anov.  I don;t know why it won't readily show me the other 97% of charts that aren't An-O.  Some friend you are, FF, way to point out the negative.

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with this week? What is going well for you this week? R/R? Brace yourselves for a rant!  I have been mulling this over for a week now and I'm just so pissed.  When I lost my baby girl at 18 weeks I asked a million questions and requested a bunch of tests, one of which was about progesterone and the other for Natural Killer cell levels. Both of these were poo-poohed away, with the Drs saying "There's no way you could've made it to 18 weeks if progesterone was an issue." This past January, when I was newly PG, I asked a new MFM for Lovenox and for progesterone testing.  She denied both.  I miscarried a few days later.  I again requested the progesterone test and she said there was no point now with the MC and that numbers wouldn't be accurate.  Needless to say, I haven't seen her again.  I then got a great hematologist who did prescribe the Lovenox, and he was pissed off for me that the MFM had denied it and that I'd suffered another loss.  In April I met with an amazing RE just days after I got another BFP.  She agreed with the Lovenox and said I definitely needed more testing.  She ran the hcg and progesterone, both of which came back super low and I miscarried the same day we got the test results. She immediately prescribed progesterone for next time. She's also running the Natural Killer cells test to see if my body is attacking the pregnancies. I'm relieved to finally have doctors who are really working with me, but I'm just so mad that all these months have been wasted, not to mention the heartache and losses.  I look young & feel young but I am not young by any means of TTC. I didn't have the time to lose to begin with.  End rant!

Any testing coming up/any recent results? Waiting on additional results from new RE.

GTKY: What is something you're looking forward to this summer?  It's my favorite season and I would love it if it was summer all year, so just looking forward to it in general.

  • @keikilove I'm so so sorry about the roller coaster and pain, but so glad you're working with someone who listens to you and works with you now!

  • @keikilove this is wild, it makes me mad that no one was listening before. So glad that you have a doctor who  will listen now!
  • @c1kc1kpol1cn1k oh that probably would have been smart. But it was 9:30 this morning so I missed it/it was canceled so I guess I’m stuck just hoping for the best at this point 🤦🏻‍♀️
  • @shamrocandroll @chichiphin @c1kc1kpol1cn1k Thank you all so much for commiserating with me. <3

@chichiphin Sorry for the limbo of this TWW, that is excruciating.  But yay for the community pool!  When I lived in the concrete jungle the community pool saved my sanity in the summertime.

@emeraldduchess Good luck with the hunt for a good RE who is available soon!  And I hear you on the anticipation of no grading in summer!  The best feeling...

@hanshotfirst77 I'm so sorry for the challenges you're going through right now.  It's good to see you back here.  And congratulations on the house!

@ruby696 Fingers crossed for this cycle!!! I hope and pray it's your lucky THB cycle. Either way you will be sorely missed around these parts.  Hang in there!

@MrsJessS I'm so sorry for everything you've had to go through on your own.  Glad to hear your hubby has his phone back and hopefully everything goes smoothly when you all get to sit down and talk.

@shamrocandroll Sorry about your MIL this past weekend. And sorry for your friend, the whole situation is tough.

@kagesstarshroom Sorry for all the inquiring minds & TW stuff all around you.  But really glad to hear you're kind of coming to a place of peace with just letting life unfold as it may.  That's probably a really healthy approach, even though the uncertainty and not being able to plan can make us all a bit nutty.

@c1kc1kpol1cn1k Glad to hear things are going surprisingly ok.  Hope the U/S shows all is clear and good to go.

@kbrown2385 I hope the clomid helps! I can totally relate to what you are feeling about being so hopeful and anxious at the same time.  This whole journey is sooo dang hard on so many levels.

  • @keikilove That makes me incredibly angry for you. I just can't even. Why are doctors so difficult about ordering a simple test, especially given how devastating losses are?!
  • @shamrocandroll I literally teared up at you & your friends sending her a care package. That's so super sweet.

@keikilove You can choose to only see one type of cycle when you do that chart search? Or, if you go to Community and Chart Gallery, you can make all the settings yourself? Anyway, I have tHoRoUGhLy explored those features haha so if you need a guided tour let me know. (The teacher in me is like I SHOULD MAKE A PDF but.. really, I should be grading papers--) Anyway, I'm sorry for your deserved current anger--I'm so glad you found someone who will listen, and hope that any of us reading this can learn from it & hopefully, if we need to, learn to be better advocates for ourselves in the face of that kind of lack of listening--thanks so much for sharing.
  • @hanshotfirst77 good luck tomorrow! Crossing everything for you!
@shamrocandroll that is so wonderful that you and some of your friends sent that care package.
@keikilove that is infuriating that those docs didn't listen to you. I hope your new RE does and that you get answers soon!

AFM, I was able to get an appointment for next month with a different doctor at the clinic that my PCP recommended.  I am glad I don't have to wait until July or even later, which was a possibility.
