Holy sh*t, you guys. Notre Dame cathedral is on fire... like, really on fire. It looks like the whole thing is going to go. This is so heartbreaking! I've never been to Paris, but always hoped to one day, and this is one of those things I just always assumed I'd get to see in person someday.

@shamrocandroll I was about to come on here to let yall know about Notre Dame in case you hadn't seen yet. I can't stop watching the NBC news broadcast. MH agrees w/ the spokesperson who said nothing from the frame is likely to remain (MH does restoration carpentry/construction). I heard they were trying to save some of the interior art/artefacts, but I hope that there are no casualties (there are none reported yet.) Wild--and the day after Palm Sunday, too!
I'm watching it now, the spire is gone. I was fortunate to see Notre Dame in high school, such a beautiful place. Do they have any idea what caused it at this point?
@shamrocandroll Yes, they just redid the organ after like WWII or something--oo I found a site that tells the organ's history, they "fully electrified" it in the 1950s. Also: isn't living in 2019 wild? That we can watch such a monumental piece of architecture/history/culture burn to the ground from so far away?
