@jennm0724 ah so excited for you!!! I checked in a couple times yesterday looking for your update lol! You guys are making me want to abandon team green even more, although I've been having girl dreams so I guess I need to prepare for team blue! Also, try not to worry!! It's not abnormal to have to go back for extra pics! I had to go back with my first. If there was something really seriously wrong, chances are they would have seen something yesterday. They just want to make sure all they have all the images that they need! On the bright side, you get another peek at baby girl!!
@ccmama3 aww thanks!! Stay strong on team green! I don't know how you're doing it lol, but keep it up! My doctor did email me back this morning and said that there is no cause for concern that they just want clearer images so I am trying to not worry. I am happy we get to see her again and maybe she'll be a little more active, she did give a thumbs up so maybe she was telling me she is fine in there LOL! who knows! My MIL wanted us to have a girl so badly, and after she passed I told my husband that we'll end up having a girl, so when they told us I got a little teary eyed because she got the granddaughter she wanted but isn't here to enjoy her. Her service is this weekend so I'm going to wear purple since it was her favorite color.
I mentioned this in a different thread (appointments?) but got no replies yet. Anyone have experience with a low lying placenta? Or even placenta previa? At my OB appointment he went over my A/S and said baby was good but my placenta was low lying. Not to the point of previa but he wants to monitor it and is hopeful it will move up to place with growth of baby/uterus. I am not on any restrictions yet and can go about my activities like normal. I go back for another U/S at 28 weeks. He also said I cant travel out of country because my insurance wont cover a "pre existing condition" should I start to bleed or need emergency hosp care. This cancels my girls trip to the states planned for April which I am so bummed about! Silver lining is I get to see baby again at week 28.
@canuckmomma I don't, sorry! No one has mentioned my placenta location so I am clueless. That is a bummer about having to cancel your trip! But like you said, at least you can see the baby again! Hopefully someone has had some experience and can give you some advice.
@jennm0724 Your ultrasound notes will end up on your kp test results. It will list where your placenta is there. There are basically 3 options, anterior (front), posterior (rear), and fundal (top).
@canuckmomma Mine is only a few centimeters from the cervix. I was told it is a little bit close, but that it usually moves up with the uterus as the uterus expands, so they weren't worried about it. I think the only thing is just if it does end up covering the cervix, you'll have to have a C-section.
@hakele I'm so thankful you have KP LOL!! I wouldn't have thought it would be there, I'll have to look. I just switched back to KP after being with blue cross for about 10 years, I grew up on KP though back when there were no apps haha!
@canuckmomma hanging on by a thread as far as placenta goes, I believe mine was low with my first. They mentioned it at my first ultrasound, but like you no restrictions or anything. It moved up no problem as the pregnancy progressed so fingers crossed the same for you!
@canuckmomma I had low lying placenta with my first. It was a few cm away from my cervix at 20 weeks and they restricted my physical activity (no squats or heavy lifting). It resolved by 28 weeks without issue. I'd only be concerned if you've had bleeding. As long as it's more than 2 cm away by ~28 weeks there's not an issue.
Is your trip end of April? Like right before 28 weeks? I'd see if they can scan you before your trip so you don't have to cancel.
@cbeanz Our hospital sends a letter out basically telling you the date and time to come in for US. They give you no choice (Canadian public -yet free- health care system) and kinda gotta go when they schedule you. Plus the tech isn't legally allowed to tell me any details during the scan. Only my OB can when he gets sent the file a couple days letter. And with my OB if there's no immediate concerns, he doesn't call, he'll wait til your next OB appointment to discuss. Ugh. I will be 28 weeks along 6 days after I was planning to leave on my trip so I doubt i'll get an earlier appointment.
@canuckmomma Do you not have the ability to call a nurses line at your OB's office with concerns or questions? My nurses at our office are awesome and almost always get back to me within the day - I was *this close* to being diagnosed with ICP last pregnancy and I had a lot of questions because my OB never explained and I made the mistake of Dr. Googling what cholestasis was.
@foodislove There is an emergency line or I can call the receptionist but I am not sure what she is allowed to give out. I like my OB but he is horribly busy, waiting room always packed when I come in.
Regarding the low placenta ... I've decided once i get the letter booking my week 28 ultrasound I will make a last min decision if I'm going on the girls roadtrip or not. If US is prior to trip, I will call my OB's office asap after to try and get results. In the end I wanna look out for baby and I'm taking that time off work regardless!!
