Baby is the size of a(n): bowl of cereal
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): Finding out
Upcoming Appointments: Anatomy Scan Wednesday!
How are you feeling?: My hips are still killing me when I sleep. Other than that I feel pretty good, just getting bigger so getting off the couch isn't as easy anymore.. I feel like this happened overnight!
Rants/Raves: My rave is we're getting an awesome tax return this year and we are going to put pergo floors downstairs and have the carpets upstairs professionally cleaned and getting all new blinds for the house plus a new closet organization system for our master closet.. the rant of this is it's stressing me out how much work needs to get done now.. have to figure out help to come move all the furniture around while all this happens. first world problems I know LOL.
Questions: How much weight has everyone gained? My doctor hasn't said anything about my weight gain, got on the scale this morning and I've gained 15lbs, which I figure isn't bad for halfway? I dunno! They told me 25-30 lbs so I'm hoping I'm on track... I know you gain about .5-1lb per week the rest of the way out. Now the rain has almost stopped I've been trying to go out and walk everyday.
GTKY: **Stolen from Group 1** ....I know we have a whole names thread, but let's talk names. Have you decided on a name for this LO yet? Tell me about name choices for previous children as well. All things names this week! We haven't even looked at names to be honest. I didn't want to waste my time looking and boy and girl names until I knew what we were having so I didn't have to fall in love with a girl name if we end up having a boy.. so come Wednesday I'll start looking at names.
Baby is the size of a(n): Axolotl (never heard of it before Ovia haha... apparently native to MX... funny little amphibian that naturally has a sweet little grin)
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): Green
Upcoming Appointments: Next OB appointment March 14
How are you feeling?: The pregnancy I've been feeling good... BUT I got SO violently ill this weekend with a 48 hour stomach virus. OMG it was wicked and I haven't thrown up that much since I was a kid. Every half hour for about 7 hrs straight... I lived on the bathroom floor. I was worried that it would effect baby so I tried my hardest to stay hydrated but everything i took in came right back out. I am through the worst of it and just regaining strength and hydration now!
Rants/Raves: Rant is just sucked to be so sick. Rave was my family is amazing and my MIL took DS for the day on Saturday and my aunt took him on Sunday. (Husband works night shift currently, sleeping during day) So I had the opportunity to truly rest and get well. Hopefully DS does not get sick!
Questions:
GTKY: I know we have a whole names thread, but let's talk names. Have you decided on a name for this LO yet? Tell me about name choices for previous children as well. All things names this week!
We have a couple girls name ideas... still STUMPED on boy names. We were stumped for boys with my first as well. He was born and the nurses asked what his name was and we both said we don't know and needed to discuss it. It came down to Grady or Eli and we chose Grady. Absolutely love it and suits him so well. I have always been partial to shorter two syllable names with a "Y" or "EE" sounding ending.

Upcoming Appointments: A/S on Friday! Midwife Appt - March 12th
How are you feeling?: Overall good, just starting to feel very "full" by the end of the day, and i haven't eaten a ton. Recovering from the cold so appetite hasn't been the greatest. Finding it harder to get comfy when i sleep as well. getting tired of sleeping on my side(s), as normally i'm a stomach sleeper.
Rants/Raves: Glad to be over having the cold, but now hubby has it, so i hope i don't get it back. I've pretty much told him don't touch me LOL. :P i'm also so OVER the cold weather and snow. i cannot wait for spring or let's just go straight to summer
Questions: none.
GTKY: **Stolen from Group 1** ....I know we have a whole names thread, but let's talk names. Have you decided on a name for this LO yet? Tell me about name choices for previous children as well. All things names this week!
We have our girl name and boy name picked out. We have had the boy name picked before we even got pregnant. The girl name took some time, but we have agreed on one that makes both of us happy. My daughter's name is Amaya, and i chose it bc i fell in love with it as soon as i heard it. A friend of a friend's sister has the name, and i thought it was so different (at the time). Both of the middle names we chose have familial ties - example, the boy name has my husband's name and a common name amongst males in the family (Brian Anthony); for the girl we have (Marie Tracey) for the middle names, as marie is a nod to both grandmothers, and tracey is for my husband's sister who passed away before he was born. I had to really debate on including that, but we were able to find a name that it flowed with and i'm okay with including it now.
@canuckmomma Ugh, throwing up like that is the worst, especially doubly so worrying about staying hydrated. I'm glad you had fam to help you out!
@mixitupmel The game sounds fun, enjoy! What stuff did you order? I love baby stuffs, and love seeing what other folks picked out.
Baby is the size of a(n): Zucchini
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): Blue
Upcoming Appointments: A/S this Thu, 3/7
How are you feeling?: Doing better today. Last week and up into the weekend, my stomach was constantly bothering me, crazy headaches, lots of sudden drops in blood pressure and sugar. Trying to drink more water and even out my eating, it's hard. I say this a lot, but this pregnancy is so different than my first I feel like I have to learn being pregnant all over again.
Rants/Raves: My MIL leaves tomorrow to go home for awhile. THANK GOD. Love that woman, and I'm glad she's moving out here to be near us and help us out, but her house-buying-process is driving me up the wall. Ready to have my home back and not have to hear about how none of these houses are what she wants (she's looking for a damn unicorn).
GTKY: Have you decided on a name for this LO yet? Tell me about name choices for previous children as well. All things names this week!
Ryan Naveed is our front runner, and mostly likely our final pick.
@canuckmomma wow--i'm so glad you are on the mend and have family near by that was able to help this weekend.
@mixitupmel I love stomach sleeping!!
@foodislove love the name! also i agree--food is hard, i'm constantly trying to eat the right foods and get enough in me while still being comfortable. Over the weekends i never drink enough water, I was so dehydrated by last night that i down two nalgenes of water within an hour and then felt horrible as my body tried to soak it all in. (also i know a Nalgene is not a measure of water but...i don't know how big they are so hopefully most people get the reference).
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: July 18th // 20+4
Baby is the size of a(n): Microphone? I liked the one from Saturday that said it was as tall as a Venti coffee.
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): GREEN
Upcoming Appointments: OB next Tuesday (i'm bummed because i thought it was this week)
How are you feeling?: Sounds like the rest of you. My hip is hurting from side sleeping and bending over is starting to get harder. But overall it's not that bad. Just hoping to get more active once the weather gets better.
Rants/Raves: Went for a great walk with the dog on Saturday morning. Blue sky and crisp air, it was lovely. But my body definitely felt it later that afternoon. I need to be more active but it's hard to get the motivation when it's so cold outside. Oh and I think i felt the baby last night! of course i'm not sure because FTM but I think so. It was in the lower right side of my body and felt like a mini stomach growl? I don't think my stomach is over there. But in all honesty it could have been digesting the brussel sprouts--but this was some how different.
Questions: how direct should i be with my MIL about coming to visit? she's only visited us once due to money issues (we would pay to fly her here but she's a flake and if it isn't her money than she'll just not come). I want her to understand we aren't going to be entertaining her. I'd love to push her off a month or two, but MH has 3 weeks paternity leave and I want him off work when she's here. (if you can't tell she's not my favorite).
GTKY: We have a top contender for each sex. It was surprisingly easy. We used the BabyName app--so fun, like Tinder for names and then it tells you when there is a match between you and your partner.
I think that is what worries me is I can't really control the water weight and swelling so that is what it is. At least you know now to be prepared for that. 12 days late! Yikes!
@mixitupmel I feel really full by the end of the day too, my belly is rock hard by the end of the night and I feel miserable. I try to eat small meals but life gets in the way and I just end up having regular meals for lunch and dinner.. probably part of my problem LOL
@foodislove I laughed out loud when I read your MIL is looking for a unicorn.. that has to be so exhausting. I couldn't deal with it.
@blackhottamales I'd be direct, or will your husband be direct with her? I'd tell her when you want her to come and express your feelings on her flaking when you are paying for her to come visit.
@jennm0724 I think I'm around the 15lb mark too, maybe a little less. But I think you'll be ok! I ended up gaining 40lbs with my first and I lost it no problem so try not to stress about the weight gain!
@blackhottamales I keep meaning to download the babyname app again. It's the only way I can get my hubby to give opinions on names lol!
Baby is the size of a(n): a gameboy lol
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): green(ish)... hardcore waivering on finding out at my next scan
Upcoming Appointments: Not until the end of March now
How are you feeling?: I'm just so tired still!!! I almost fell asleep while watching my other two kiddos playing after lunch. I think this is just going to be my normal state for a while. Also the crying is getting out of control. I'm sooo emotional about everything lol! My 2.5 year old keeps staring at me like what is wrong with you?!?
Rants/Raves: I'm finally feeling movement a couple times a day!!! I'm so excited about it!
Questions:
GTKY: **Stolen from Group 1** ....I know we have a whole names thread, but let's talk names. Have you decided on a name for this LO yet? Tell me about name choices for previous children as well. All things names this week! No name ideas for this LO really. I have a list going for boy and girl names but nothing we are sold on yet. We didn't decide on DS1s name until he was 24 hours old and DS2 we chose a few weeks before he was born. Both boys names start with the same letter so we are trying to decide if we want to stick with that or go with something else.
@ccmama3 I feel you on the tired. I want to nap every day and I've going to bed from 9ish to 7ish. DH is not amused.
@canuckmomma I'm sorry you were so sick this weekend, that sounds terrible!
@mixitupmel What kind of stuff did you buy?? I just ordered a few cute things from Gap but I'm kind of excited to go scouring the kid's consignment stores around here because they always have so many great clothes, toys and gear.
@foodislove How long as your MIL been staying with you all? I always enjoy the first couple days of family visitors but then I'm ready to just be quiet and relax without the constant chatter.
@blackhottamales If you think she will be helpful, I would have her come out while your H is on paternity leave so that a) she can pitch in and b) your H can entertain her when you need to rest. If not, I would have her wait a 6 weeks until you've got everything situated. I had my ILs wait until maybe 4 weeks and they were still useless and just sat around on our couch for 3 days. DH handed MIL the baby to feed him a bottle and she was like "What do I do?" and handed him back
@ccmama3 Doesn't it seem like the exhaustion just creeps up out of nowhere? I have spurts of energy to clean the house or go out and do things but then I cannot hardly keep my eyes open for the rest of the day.
Baby is the size of a(n): Foot is the size of a water bottle cap
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): Green
Upcoming Appointments: Monthly prenatal on the 20th
How are you feeling?: Feeling good. DS and I got out for a couple of walks this weekend and I did a bunch of cleaning and tidying.
Rants/Raves: Like everyone else, I'm sick of this cold weather. It's been sunny the past few days but frigid and windy. I would really like to get out and stroll a bit while DS is in school without getting chilled to the bone.
Questions:
GTKY: Have you decided on a name for this LO yet? Tell me about name choices for previous children as well. All things names this week!
Nope! We have completely different tastes in names and will be narrowing down a very long list of B and G names for months to come. For DS name I eventually found his on a very old list of popular names from the Social Security index. These days I'm scouring names everywhere, from books, tv, movies, magazines, etc. If I find something decent, I'll look up it's popularity and save it for later if it's not too common.
Baby is the size of a(n): Banana
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): PINK! I'm so happy.
Upcoming Appointments: Had MFM Ultrasound today. Next appt is with my NP in the OB office on 4/4.
How are you feeling?: Pretty darn good. I'm back up on my high after the MFM appt today and finding that everything was just perfect and normal. Relief is an understatement. The doc said she looks perfectly healthy and was bopping around like the tiny dancer that she is.
Also, feeling so much better after recovering from my lovely bout of acid reflux. I hadn't had a lick of heartburn at all, so that was a jarring incident on Saturday. For some perspective, I was at a pain level of 8. Which is nearly intolerable. 10 to me is, OMG I'm about to die. When I broke my foot, that was like a 5. It hurt, but it wasn't so much that I couldn't talk or anything. This was me in a ball on the floor in the bathroom crying wanting to know why my spine hurt and my shoulders hurt and my stomach hurt. And my husband calling the nurses line and them saying... yeah, let's have you go to the hospital. He was so scared, bless him.
Rants/Raves:
I know I'm a broken record, but... my husband is the best ever. He has stepped it up so much and I'm so proud of him. He is definitely stressed at work, but he has done an amazing job of setting me and baby girl as the priority before work. And I think that is helping him with the work stress, too. Surprisingly.
Questions:
@jennm0724How much weight has everyone gained?
I started at 225, I lost about 13 lbs in the first trimester. Then I sat at 213.4 for weeks. The last 4 weeks it has been 214.7. Today, I measured in at 212.4 thanks to my minimal diet after the reflux episode on Saturday.
When I went to the hospital this weekend, they sent me to L&D triage rather than the ER. Is this normal for pregnant women to be routed that way?
GTKY: **Stolen from Group 1** ....I know we have a whole names thread, but let's talk names. Have you decided on a name for this LO yet? Tell me about name choices for previous children as well. All things names this week!
Most people in my family have a familial name. Except for me... and my baby girl. Hahaha. It isn't going to be anything family related. My sister is named after two grandmas. My dad is a JR. His Brother is a long-standing family name. Many of the girls are some form of Mary, Catherine, and Theresa. I have a Mary Theresa cousin, my gran is Mary Catherine, my sister is a Catherine. My great aunt is Catherine Theresa. If we had a boy, we were going to do my maiden name as a middle name, but we aren't having one, so we can give up on trying to find the boy name.
Our name picks for a boy, top contenders were Leonardo and Rocco. Leo would have been funny because my hubby is also a ninja turtle. Hahahaha.
Our name picks for a girl are top secret. I don't want to put them out there into the universe until we decide. And we aren't going to nail it down until we see her face in the flesh.
@blackhottamales Nalgene = 1 Liter or 32oz.
@mamanbebe @foodislove we bought the guava lotus travel crib, the nanit plus baby monitor, and i got a juju be diaper bag
Baby is the size of a(n): Endive
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): Pink 🎀💗
Upcoming Appointments: Anatomy scan today, next appt is 24 weeks for glucose screen in the beginning of April
How are you feeling?: Good, but the back pain is serious this time around!
Rants/Raves: My appetite! It’s awful! I’m having such a hard time picking food that seems appealing with even at least any thing nutritional! I was the same with my first pregnancy, just wish I could eat normally!
Questions: Anybody else feeling Braxton Hicks? The Braxton Hicks thread made me feel so much better, I thought it was too early, but apparently not. My doc reassured me today as well, but it was great to read about others experiences.
GTKY: This little babe will be Avery Amelia. It came to me in a dream at 9 weeks and it just stuck! Her older sister is Cassidy Christina.
@OoandreaoO No BH here yet, but I expect in the near future. Boo.
@hakele YAY, I am so glad baby girl is healthy and that your worries were relieved by the doctor. That plus your acid issues over the weekend was just unfair, so glad it's all okay now. Did the docs give any recommendations on the acid issue to prevent it in future?

Really good besides sciatica pain

Questions:
GTKY: **Stolen from Group 1** ....I know we have a whole names thread, but let's talk names. Have you decided on a name for this LO yet? Tell me about name choices for previous children as well. All things names this week!
Jaxon. We had this name since our first and I’m so happy we get to use it.
@foodislove I'm pretty sure that the recommendation to keep it from happening again is, "Don't eat an entire cup of jalapenos in one sitting." LOL. Seems reasonable.
@hakele thanks for sharing! I guess I'll find out about my weight gain when I go... if I can keep it to .5lb per week the rest of the way out I'll hit my target of 25lbs. Trying not to overthink it just get off my ass and exercise.
@OoandreaoO I feel like my food choices sometimes suck too. Hard to find good fruit and veggies in the winter time, hoping in the spring my food choices can improve. I'm trying really hard not to eat junk but sometimes it just sounds so damn good.
@OoandreaoO i feel like most days i can't decide what to eat either. i'm so sick of food lol. everyday my dilemma is what to have for lunch, and some days even dinner.
@annewheeler2 i love the name jaxon, and the spelling!
@hakele we keep our names secret too, even from internet strangers lol. I love keeping it a secret. So glad your little girl is healthy, what a relief! Also saw southwest announced their Hawaii flights (I think?) did you book your babymoon?!?!
Baby is the size of a(n): banana
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): baby girl
Upcoming Appointments: none til the start of April
How are you feeling?: good, just tired and some achy hips when sleeping, nothing to really complain about all things considered
Rants/Raves: Starting to show a bit finally which is cool. And might’ve finally felt first movement yesterday! (That or I was just hungry and my stomach rumbled haha)
GTKY: **Stolen from Group 1** ....I know we have a whole names thread, but let's talk names. Have you decided on a name for this LO yet? Tell me about name choices for previous children as well. All things names this week!
I think we’re settled on Eloise, nn El. We’ve been trying it on for size and referring to her by name and it’s looking like a keeper!
Baby is the size of a(n): banana
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): Finding out at Reveal party on Sunday. AS is Friday.
Upcoming Appointments: Had my OB appt today; all was good. AS is on Friday.
How are you feeling?: Good. Slowly getting more energy but still sleepier than pre-pregnancy.
Rants/Raves: No strong feelings in particular this week!
Questions: @jennm0724 I have gained about 15 lbs as of 20 weeks as well. Last pregnancy I gained more than the recommended amount. I stopped paying attention in the third trimester because it was just annoying and stressful to see the number on the scale. The reality is that pregnancy and breastfeeding make me so hungry and lazy!!! I ended up losing it slowly but steadily after my last pregnancy without any particular effort.
GTKY: **Stolen from Group 1** ....I know we have a whole names thread, but let's talk names. Have you decided on a name for this LO yet? Tell me about name choices for previous children as well. All things names this week! We have a decision on a girls name (still need to decide on middle name) and a shortlist for a boy. We are saving any more effort on decision making until we know whether this is a girl or a boy.
I had boy dreams, too. And no girl dreams.
