We had such a busy weekend, which continues today. We painted my oldest girls room to change it into a big girl room. Its a huge room with 15 foot ceilings and such a pain. We somehow managed to get it done in just 2 days! One day we had both kids with us (one day they went to Grandma's).
Also the new baby furniture arrived! 2 drawers on the dresser are broken so we gotta get that taken care of, but that's why we ordered it so early.
Today is all about cleaning and doing some art for my kids new room. But first, donuts! DH took the girls out to pick them up so I could have a whole coffee in bed in peace. I love that man!
On Monday's H takes care of kid duty. So I'm laying down and he us going to bring me pizza after it's cooked. I'm so hungry and so tired and pretty sure I have a sinus infection
So I don't know if I should put this here or in questions, but I noticed that when long-time bumpers talk about using the love it button they call it a "love tit" at first I thought it was typo, but now I've seen it enough that I'm not sure. Can someone please explain?
I’m finally telling work this week! I’ve been psyching myself out about it bc it just feels so awkward to bring up, especially to a male boss. Plus my job is weird because I’m split between two schools so I have 2 bosses (and sets of coworkers) to tell, and my position is going to be difficult to find a long term sub for.
Also, because we are supposed to get snow this week (aka snow days), I might not be able to tell one of my bosses this week in person. We regularly text through a group text with other coworkers, so I was thinking of just asking him to call me one day this week when we’re most likely off. Is that weird? He’s super casual as a boss but I don’t want to be too informal.
I am 100% sure I felt the baby this morning! I'm 16w4d and I have thought a few times that maybe I felt it, but this morning, no doubt. Little nugglet was awigglin at 5am when I was randomly awake petting my dog.

@dogmomma096 I don't think it's weird to ask you boss to call you. I also feel super awkward about bringing it up. I have to tell my board (they are my boss since I am the ED of a nonprofit) and I think I am just going to put a note in the packet of info I send out ahead of board meetings instead of awkwardly bringing it up at our board meeting next week. It will double as a test to see who actually reads the packet! I did tell our board president in person though.
I want a refund on this morning. Early wake up, I cooked/got dinner in the crock pot while keeping toddler hands out of the ricotta and raw meat, and then as I'm cleaning the kitchen he brings me a completely disassembled toy drill. No batteries, back, OR SCREW. I spend half an hour CSI style retracing his steps and cannot find the screw to save myself.
I call mom for some sympathy & she tells me the screw has been gone for DAYS & has probably been vacuumed up by now. I finally sit down & he wants a snack. And he poops. 🤯😴😴😴
Also we have a pediatrician appointment this afternoon right in the middle of nap time.
@WinchesterGirl sending hugs, they're easier to get through the internet than donuts. Although a quick google shows that Krispy Kreme in Australia will deliver if you order at least a dozen. We need to get that here... Toddlers do have a wonderful knack for knowing exactly when you sit down, and waiting until then to need something. I'm super impressed you managed to get dinner in the crockpot, I'm lucky if I can get out the door on time in the morning.
I showed up for a tour of a daycare this morning and was informed it was cancelled when I arrived. This is a daycare I had to show up at to even get tour information because they didn’t return my phone call or email. Infant care is TOUGH to find here, but this was my last straw. Good thing I didn’t slready pay to get on the waitlist!
I really wish I had the energy to see. But so tired. Plus the sewing room (in the basement) has a shitty window. So it's always like 4 degrees in there.
We are getting ceiling fans installed today in the baby’s room and our guest room. Our ceiling didn’t even have a hook up to install them ourselves so we had to get an electrician out. I’m so excited to have fans and ceiling lights in both rooms!! We’ve been relying on lamps and no circulating air.
Plus we are planning to set up the crib this weekend after the fan is done 👍🏻😬
@WinchesterGirl Sounds like we’re having sinilar days! My toddler woke up in a contrary mood, and was just difficult all morning - then it took AN HOUR to get her down for a nap, and now that she’s FINALLY down I’m going to have to wake her up in the middle of it to go to her pediatrician appointment!! 😫
Here’s to hoping that tomorrow goes better for both of us...
@WinchesterGirl@mkrel I guess the demand exceeds the supply so they can run their facility this way?? I’m VERY glad to know now and move on to my next tour next Tuesday!
It's snowing! I hope it snows enough that my kids can play in it tomorrow.
Also DS1 no longer has to patch his eye! He is very excited. He hated the eye patch. But he did really well with it for the six weeks we had to patch him. So we went and picked out a new Lego set and he is happily putting it together in the kitchen.
We are getting another "winter storm" and our nanny just called out. Also I've been up with DS#2 since 3am because he's sick, fever, cranky, runny nose, but the doctor is closed thanks to this storm.

Somebody send donuts.
