New Introduction

Hi everyone! I'm new to the group. I turned 35 this month and my DH and I have been TTC for a little over a year. We've had all the standard tests and all have come back normal so far, so we are dealing with unexplained IF. It has been very frustrating at times and I keep wondering if there is something else wrong, something that hasn't been diagnosed yet, such as hostile CM. Sometimes it is extra difficult because we live in such a rural/remote location. Its at least an hour to any medical services and our RE is 8 hrs away so we have only done phone/email consultations. We've done 3 cycles clomid and have now switched to letrozole with a trigger shot. I'm having a baseline ultrasound tomorrow to see if I can do the treatment again, fingers crossed. My DH and I have started discussing IUI as I'm starting to feel the pressure now. Anyone wish they moved to IUI or other treatment options sooner? I'm mostly concerned about the costs, but I worry I am wasting precious time. I feel like there is a lot of hurry up and wait. Thanks everyone!

Re: New Introduction

  • Hi @Knottie1458606415, if you can, change your username for this site so it's easier to tag you. I know you posted this awhile ago but wanted to welcome you. Hopefully by now, you are into your new cycle, fx! I do wish I had gone to IVF sooner, but that's in hindsight. What I mean is, while doing IUI, I didn't regret doing it if that makes sense. I wasn't like wishing that I was doing IVF instead. Hate to break it to you but this entire process is hurry up and wait, through regular TTC, and any type of assisted treatment really. I've practically done it all in the 7 years it took. IVF is so much harder than any other, imho <----from my own personal experience, and I only say that to let you know that there isn't necessarily a unicorn in IVF either. It's all a roll of the dice unfortunately. I say that, not to smash your hopes, but to be honest about the reality of it.

With all of that being said, you will make the decision that's right for you and your husband. Discussing with him and the two of you making decisions together is NEVER the same thing as wasting precious time because your love for each other and your teamwork is what's even more precious, always. Stick around and join in on one of the monthly IUI threads. There is a wealth of knowledge and support here!
People think we become mothers when we give birth but the truth is we become mothers the moment we start calling our babies to us in our thoughts, dreams and prayers. Some paths are short and some are so long that you can easily forget where you were headed.

How I feel all of the time.
