Trouble TTC

Clomid + Trigger + TI Timing?

Hello ladies,

I've been trying for about a year and a half, and just started my second cycle with RE. The past cycle he had me take 100mg of Clomid from CD 5-10, wait about a week or so to trigger after approving US, and then BD 36 hours afterward as well as the next two days. Today I'm back to CD 1 and RE will check CD 3 to make sure no new cysts have appeared before we proceed with what sounds to be the same approach.

After doing some research, I'm a bit concerned. It sounds like a lot of other REs have said to BD the day before o is supposed to happen, then o-day and the day after, etc.

I know the process can take awhile.. But I just want to know if anyone else has seen/heard of this process before? I for sure thought after the past week or so we had it due to symptoms I felt, but here I am with AF. I would just like to see a BFP at some point and feel discouraged.

  • @chiblackhawkie - Welcome! Hope you find some support on this board. In regards to when to have TI, I’ve always read/been told to BD the day before O and the day of. I rely pretty heavily on OPKs because I have irregular cycles and so I have found these have been helpful to determine when to BD. I hope the Clomid and triggers work for you!! Feel free to jump onto the weekly check-in threads and introduce yourself to the whole group! Good luck!

  • Thanks! I will probably ask my doctor tomorrow why he's directing us to BD those times.

And I'll be sure to check out the check-in thread! Appreciate your help.
  • @chiblackhawkie I understand what you're going through. It sounds like we are in a similar place. I am taking letrozole CD 4-8 + trigger shot after approved US. So far 1 cycle, but with AF. My RE said to BD day before US just in case (I also had a positive OPK that morning). Trigger shot was next day and I was told to BD that day and the next 2. I would think BD should happen a littler earlier. I know it can feel like a lot of waiting only to be disappointed. My RE said it can take a couple cycles before being successful, so hang in there! I wish you luck this cycle!
