I’m just going to say it since we are starting HDBD...I dislike bare bump pictures or (even worse) bump in underwear pics. Put some clothes on, if you have a bump I can see it in a tank top, if you have to take a shirt off to see it, not a real bump 😂
This is obviously not towards anyone here as I haven’t seen one on our boards, but it’s bound to happen, no love tits from me for those. Lol
I'm thinking this is becoming more of an UO - but, I really do love social media. It's such a great way for me to keep in touch with my friends and family, especially because everyone is so spread out. I try to keep my social media accounts as locked down as possible, but basically assume that anyone could get access to what I post, so I'm pretty conscientious about what I put on there.
My UO is, I hate the idea that all opinions/viewpoints deserve equal airtime. Like, an anti-vaxer or someone with hateful viewpoints rooted in falsehoods does not deserve a spot on a news show or what-have-you alongside someone who isn't....terrible. At some point we decided free speech means everyone deserves to be heard and that's just untrue.
@harrierwife While I wouldn't say horrible, I do think The Beatles are extremely over-rated. They were a boyband who eventually found psychedelic drugs and changed their sound. They were by no means revolutionary nor unique, and so many other bands/groups were waaaaay better. Plus John Lennon was a horrible person.

I see you and I raise you the maternity photoshoots were people are naked or partially naked (bra/underwear). I don't know if getting maternity photos is in the cards for me or not yet but a friend of mine just did them and she was fully clothed in a lovely lavender gown and it was stunning.
I will raise you all one. I do not like or care for even family photoshoots. Sure I guess they look nice and I love taking pictures of my kids/family but the professional ones have almost zero appeal to me.
Show me your family as they are, dirty cheeks and floors. I like school photos for the progression and individuality but that’s about it.
@Dcwtada I generally am not a fan of family photo shoots because of how staged they are but I do find myself wanting to do one occasionally just because otherwise the only pictures I have with my kid are selfies.
@eleven_ AGREED! but I also think she has a beautiful voice just not in her own songs. I think that makes me dislike her music more because girl you have a voice I'd kill for and you're over there sounding like a screeching owl on purpose!
@eleven_@vv826 Have you seen the clip of her on Jimmy Fallon doing the Wheel of Musical Impressions? It's amazing. Here's the link for any curious minds.
Also, when she sang a song from Wicked when NBC did the Halloween special for the 15th anniversary, it was pretty great. She really does have a good voice.
DH likes her song “thank u, next” and I refuse to listen to that one. Really not an Ariana Grande fan, either.
Proof that I live in a basketball-centric world: I don't think I could pick Ariana Grande out of a line-up and I have no idea what she sings, but I know she's apparently dating a guy who plays for Rutgers that looks kind of like a Mario Brothers goomba.
While we're on music UOs -- James Taylor >>>>>> Justin Timberlake. DH calls him "the real JT".
@wearyfuzzball that Musical Impressions was so freaking impressive. I do think Arianna Grande has a beautiful and powerful voice. I’m not a universal lover of her songs but I do particularly love Dangerous Woman.
@dntstpbelieveing I do agree with you, this is an article a while back that I adored because I feel the same way, my husband only takes embarrassing pictures of me, nothing genuine or of me with the kids in the moment:
I just prefer the family photo taken in front of your fireplace or front door by family or friend as opposed to a professional pictures where everyone is dressed in coordinating outfits in a forest, field complete with flowers/pumpkins or any obvious yet generic photo shoot background. And I know mostly everyone does both so it’s not an either/or kinda thing. Definitely know it’s an UO lol
@ohheyitsb see my UO is more on the posting them here part. I did not get maternity photos with DD, I may with this one and include DD (not sure) but I will be fully clothed if I do. I don’t have anything against the more “bare” photos but I just don’t understand why people post them, on here or Facebook or anywhere. They just seem super private to me. 🤷🏼♀️
I think naked pregnant bellies are beautiful. Pic of me 32 weeks with DD. I wore this for our maternity photos. I gave zero effs towards the end of my pregnancy in July and August.
My UO: I don’t really love the idea of sending Christmas cards. It can be expensive and people just throw them away.

I think naked baby bellies are beautiful, and I will most likely get photos of mine, even with minimal clothing, but I don't necessarily think they need to be shown to the world.
@meatballs37 Your outfit is adorable, and just the right amount of skin. My friend posted photos on FB in her bra and undies with her bump... totally not about that.

I was meaning to second those types of photos being shared online as well. I have nothing against bump pictures or maternity shoots. You wanna take bump pictures in your undies, go for it. You want a maternity shoot in mesh leggings and pasties, you go girl! Just maybe those are the ones you keep for you not for all of the internet.
and btw @meatballs37 I think that’s a perfect amount of belly. I love that top!
@Dcwtada I completely agree. We didnt do newborn shots after DS but I'm thinking about having someone come into our house after this one. It would be nice to have some family shots lol.
I dont really get maternity or engagement photos. I don’t actually like the ones we have from our wedding that are just us. We did like 20 minutes of posed pictures and the rest are candid. We had a guy who is a photojournalist so it worked for what we liked. We do family photos with him.
I also think christmas cards cards are soulless now that you can have them addressed and return addressed for you. To the point that the company mails them out. I think it kills the sentiment. I understand why people do it but it’s not for me.
None of this is keeping me up at night but some things I thought about as I was home on a weekend night addressing envelopes.
@ki1244 "you cut me deep" not that James Taylor isn't great but I love Justin Timberlake.
@wearyfuzzball@kjr9519 DD1 loved Victorious so I ended up watching most of the episodes and she had some really good songs there too. (side note I'm glad to have some people agree with me on this usually when I tell people that they look at me like I hurt them)
I don’t know if this is a UO or a confession but I LOVE sleeping alone. I love my H dearly and of course we do sleep together but on the occasion that I’m able to sleep alone I seriously love it. I’ve been coughing for the last 4 weeks so on nights I’m coughing a ton and keep him awake, he moves to the couch and I love the feeling of just stretching out and taking up the whole bed. Ha! I’m really not a snuggler either.
I did Christmas cards this year for the first time in a few years. A rec for those of you who are holding back bc of cost - Groupon apparently does this every year. I got a Groupon for Staples holiday cards. 25 for $8, 50 for $16 and I think 100 for $32. They didn’t have as many trendy designs but I think they turned out really nice. They were double sided and can come matte or glossy. I was able to do 75 cards with postage Included for under $50. Pic in spoiler if mobile will let me!
When people share pictures of their meals that don’t need to be shared. I don’t care how good it tastes, it’s ugly. Real photos taken from people on my FB lol
with that.. I will contradict myself a bit and say I love looking at actually pretty plated meals/desserts 😂
I’ll probably get some hate for this, but I hate when someone sells Mary Kay or Lula Roe or whatever and they say they’re an entrepreneur or that they run a small business. No you don’t! You gave a company money to be able to sell their product. You didn’t invent anything.
@pbtoast SAME. Obviously I miss DH when he goes away for work but also I get to starfish out on the bed and it’s amaaaaazing. I also don’t have to cook dinner when he’s gone.
I can’t stand people posting pictures of food, in restaurants or at home. Unless you’re professionally staging and lighting your food it looks like a mess.
@navyblueladybug some of my fb friends pages have been totally swallowed by them promoting the cosmetics they sell. So annoying.
My UO: There’s a fine line on what to post on social media. I really don’t want to see your child when they’re sick with pink eye. I don’t see it much but I would haaaaate to see parents humiliating their children and sharing it on social media.

I think The Beatles' music is horrible.

I dont mind paying more in taxes if it’s means we get universal healthcare, free college for everyone, and universal childcare.
