@ashleaf2018 Im so sorry about the cleft news. Hopefully it isn't too bad and they can easily collect it. But still, it's difficult news. Im supposed to get a better look at my A/S in two weeks to see if the prednisone caused any damage to my little one. Im thinking of you. Xoxo
@journey721 Im sorry, I have no advice as I have no experience with this. All i can say is do your best to try not to get too far ahead of yourself. Try to keep yourself busy in the meantime. Good luck!
@journey721 not personally, but my best friend's little girl had it. It can be an indicator of downs. But it's one of those things where every baby with downs has the bright spot, but not everyone with a bright spot has downs. She's a completely healthy 6 year old girl.
@chloe97 I am seeing a cardiologist on Thursday and my internist on Friday! My EKG was completely normal, just fast. I have noticed that I am sensitive to dehydration and caffeine. I am already eating low sodium, so I am looking forward to seeing what they say.
Thanks everyone. My OB said he couldn’t make any guarantees without further ultrasounds but he seemed pretty confident in saying that the lip repair is simple; the palate repair is more complex and either one could result in feeding issues so we need to be prepared to pump/provide formula until a repair is done if it affects latching at the breast.
I’ve been on Zofran for this pregnancy since 12 weeks and that’s one thing I had heard, about it causing a cleft lip/palate and that’s why my doctor waited until 12 weeks. It’s frustrating to think that something I needed to take has possibly hurt our baby.
@ashleaf2018 if it eases your mind at all, the face is fully formed by 12 weeks. It's likely the cleft formed prior to you even taking zofran. I wouldn't beat yourself up about it at all, sometimes this just happens. There's no guarantee, and in fact not very likely at all, that the zofran had anything to do with it. ♥️
I’m starting to feel pressure in my vaginal floor when walking. With this being my 9th pregnancy, baby #8, I’m concerned. I’ve also noticed some Braxton Hicks. I go Monday for my anatomy scan so I’ll mention it all then. Other than that, I’m feeling much better than I did first trimester energy wise. My arms are super weak but that could be because of my low vit d so I’m hoping to feel better as I continue my vit supplement. I hope as we continue this journey, we all feel better and continue to grow healthy squishy babies 😍🥰
The heartburn has begun to set in for me -- my organs are now crowding out my stomach, and my esophageal sphincter is like . Probably gonna have another baby with a full head of hair.
I'm catching a cold. I can tell. Post nasal drip, sore throat, face hurts. I really want to go to Target to look for maternity shirts but I also don't want to go anywhere and kind of want to take a nap.
Is anybody having pretty bad throat pain after vomiting? I usually don't have the pain but last few times I threw up, oh it's sore for days. Also, I received a massage today and my therapist did a fantastic job on my shoulders and neck. It feels like I just shed 15 pounds from there! But man, am I sore! Massages shouldn't be a luxury.
@expandcontract some doctors actually prescribe massages as medically necessary. Make sure you keep up with fluids to flush the toxins (what’s causing the soreness). I have not vomited during this pregnancy so don’t have much to offer. Have you been vomiting a lot? The acid from the vomit could be making your throat raw causing it to be sore. Try warm tea with honey if you can. Honey is great for soothing sore throats, and has other awesome benefits too!
@journey721 With my first baby the doctor saw what they thought were bright spots on her bowel, an echogenic bowel. I was sent to a perinatologist who used higher tech equipment to do an even more detailed ultrasound to either confirm or deny that the spots existed, as that can also be a soft indicator of Downs. The perinatologist showed me "bright" in an ultrasound (bone) and that he did not see that same tone at all on her bowel. So he did not believe there was a risk after a more in depth ultrasound. As a precaution I did receive extra monitoring (non-stress tests) as the pregnancy progressed to confirm that she was still appearing healthy. The bright spots they believed they saw at the anatomy scan were not indicative of anything, and she's a happy healthy almost five (on Tuesday!) year old now! I hope you get similar results!
Hang in there with the morning sickness. I have HG and finally at 19 weeks I’ve only thrown up once in a week. Hoping this is the end. Baby has been doing acrobats today and DH was able to feel! It’s amazing. And to top it off, it’s sex week!!! We are so excited to find out on Friday
@brichanelle My HG has been tapering off as well I think. Sometimes I don’t throw up all day, some days it’s 4-5 times a day. Much better than 12 times a day though! And a nice change from being pregnant with DS where I never had any “good” days.
@mrskoz428 thankfully, I'm not vomiting crazy often. But I am nauseous most of the day. It's just that when I do vomit, it's really violent and painful which has never happened before ever. Im still incredibly grateful I don't have HG, though. Gawd, I can't imagine going through that. The once a day I do, I feel like I'm about to aspirate.
@eatinwatermelonseeds that was about how often we have been having sex lol. Hopefully without the vomiting i have more energy for that. But totally meant baby sex week !
