Appointments Week of 12/10

Re: Appointments Week of 12/10

  • @jenniferjoy37 I'd rather do the 3hr then be automatically diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes this early.

This is kiddo #5 and the only time I've passed the 1hr was when I had to take it early with #4. I've passed the 3hr all but once, when I was diagnosed with GD with #3 in 3rd tri.

  • First OB appointment  on Tuesday went well, did bloodwork to confirm pregnancy and scheduled for an US tomorrow afternoon. I'm supposed to be at my work holiday party at the same time, so I'm debating telling my boss and/or just telling everyone I have a dental procedure.

@nopegoat GL if you have to do the 3 hour one!
  • Still no call from my Dr but she did update her notes online. Going to have to do the 3hr. Boo.

  • @nopegoat They don't even do the 1 hour here because so many people fail so everyone only does the 3 hour. I didn't find it too bad with DD. I'm sure you'll pass with flying colours:)
  • @nopegoat Noooo, I'm so sorry.

The coughing is dying down so I luckily don't think that'll be as huge an issue tomorrow as I was worried it might be. Instead, our toddler decided to one up me with a fever of 102. He was home from preschool today, and will have to be tomorrow as well which complicates DH coming with me to the appt. DH wants to try, anyone, with DS in tow, which I'm telling him the doc will say no too, but he's not listening. No clue how tomorrow is gonna go, but FX'd in the end, we get to see a healthy bebe.
  • @foodislove Good luck tomorrow! You might try some herb & honey Ricola right before your appt, it always really soothes my throat when I have asthma-aggravated bronchitis :)
  • @mamanbebe Thanks darling. Lots of cough drops so far, and mostly having to use my emergency inhaler A LOT. Drinking lots of hot rooibos with honey to boot. I *really* think DH needs to stay home with a sick kid. Bringing in a healthy toddler to an OBGYN is one thing... I feel awful that he'll miss out, but seriously.
  • @foodislove I hope you all start feeling better soon! Sorry your H might have to mis out tomorrow but I'm glad the coughing is dying down so you can actually get the scan done as planned:)
  • @foodislove It makes complete sense, esp because you'd end up spending much of your appt focused on your poor little guy. I hope by some miracle he at least feels better in the morning so that maybe you all have some more options <3
  • Baby measuring ahead at 8wk4d. Due date got moved up only one day, though, to July 23. Dad stayed home with the kiddo, but my OB let me take video of the heart beat for him (164!). No movement, really, little bean was comfy. SO relieved! DH and I will have to think of a little nickname for this one.

Had my 10 week appointment/initial pregnancy visit and was hoping for a dating ultrasound (had an abdominal u/s at 6 weeks and saw a flicker but not good enough to measure/date or get a print out), but they didn’t do one and are just going off LMP. Did get to hear peanuts heartbeat on the Doppler which reassuring, but kinda bummed not to get another look or dating but seems like I won’t get another u/s until the anatomy scan :(
  • US went well! Baby measuring 8weeks3days with a HR of 162! So cool to see the little guy or girl! Feeling better about announcing at Christmas.
  • Had my appt yesterday, just measuring 7 weeks so my due date is now August 2nd. So, I’ll be popping over to the August BM thread instead. Hoping the best for all you July mamas!!!
  • @heml We will miss you over here! <3
  • @heml I would stay or at least post on both boards!

  • I have my NT scan tomorrow (Monday) at 4:30, where I will be 12 weeks exactly.

ive been so nervous all weekend, not really anxiety but just wishing the days would go quicker so the scan is here! I’m sure everything will go fine but there is always that what if in the back of your mind!

I havent had a scan since 6w2d, it feels like far too long between scans!!! After this scan I won’t have my first hospital visit until 18 weeks or so.

Anyone else having/had their NT scan?
  • if you're 12 weeks tomorrow you'll probably be one of the first people getting their NT scan @elle_88.  Hope everything goes well!

  • Hubby came with me to my second appointment which was on Friday. We had the absolute joy of hearing a strong little heartbeat for the first time as well as getting our first look at our wiggly little peanut! He or she was way too active for a clear image or measurement, but hubby took a video that I can't stop watching... 💛
