Pregnancy hormones + end of the semester have got me basically constantly melting down somewhere between rage and tears. We had to leave the work holiday party early because my kid claimed he had a stomach ache. Not that it mattered, because my husband socialized the entire time we were there while I attended to constant requests from said kid.
Also in case anyone wants to know why I’ve been bitching about my job recently - a student actually emailed my TA “thanks for the inconvenience” after my TA asked that extra credit assignments be printed (using the university's free printing) instead of hand written, so she’d have an easier time grading. What the f*?
Eta: child appeared 100% recovered from stomach ache the second we got home.
I thought I'd miss my beer but since I'd been feeling so crummy it was the last thing on my mind. But now that I'm on the upswing i've been thinking about xmas and new years and how I would LOVE a glass of champagne. I may have a small one
I have a birthday party to throw for my nearly 3 yr old daughter. (Actual bday while we are traveling on the 20th) she wants a rainbow for her birthday. Like a literal in the sky rainbow. 🌈 I hope paper with suffice.
@professormama I ended up scheduling a wine tasting for my SIL’s bachelorette party. It was no fun watching everyone else drink and the place had NO non-alcoholic options.
@chrissdee being in a job that you hate sucks. That was me almost 5 years ago. My supervisor ignored everything I said on how the work environment could be corrected so I decided I couldn’t stay...there was absolutely no work/life balance. My oldest was ~1 at the time and barely saw him when he was awake. I left for a job that I wasn’t 100% sure I’d like but the hours were way better. I’m in my dream job now! I have a boss that appreciates me, a team that I adore, and a great work/life balance.
@MRDCle I am guilty of passing out on the couch all the time. DH hates it!
My best friends from college and I are getting together later today for a Friendsmas party. I’m so excited considering I haven’t seen most of them in months!
Also my work had our department Christmas party yesterday. It was so much fun! They had a gingerbread house decorating contest and my team won 2nd place. Plus there were other games and TONS of food options.
What a busy week for me. So far, so good in all of my end of term homework and exams! Just a couple of things to finish up this week and then I’m done with school until next August. It’s a little bittersweet, but managing work, school AND pregnancy was too much for me. Ready to have a bit of a break until baby is born (from school at least)
@professormama I thought all college kids preferred doing their stuff on computers instead of handwriting nowadays. Sorry for the unnecessary stress they’re adding to your life
I just got back from a mini road trip and forgot how tiring pregnancy travel is. My parents, both kids, and I left yesterday at 4pm and got back at 7:30pm tonight. We visited my great aunt, both cemeteries of my grandparents, and made our annual stop at Bronners Christmas store for our yearly ornaments. Lots of sitting in a car and an uncomfortable hotel bed and my body is not happy with me. On the plus side both kiddos did great traveling. Hoping I can get up for boot camp in the morning
