I wish my dog could still get in our bed. We use to cuddle every night and then she move to my feet. Even taking our bed off the metal part (seriously drawing a blank on what this is called), her back leg is too weak to jump up. I had to help her get up our stairs this morning. I am hopeful she will make till after baby is here. She has Degenerative Myelopathy and so it's only a matter of time that her body just can't function like it should. I had to help her our stairs this morning and she was whining which is new, so that has me concerned.
We have two sleeping beauties in heaven. Jack gained his wings on 09/02/2016. Kali gained her wings on 07/28/2015. They will be forever missed.
@bdesterhouse I'm sorry to hear about your dog. That must be hard. Metal part is called the frame. Not to make you feel bad, I know it just bugs me when I can't think of a word. DW thought is was too funny when I couldn't come up with a word the other day and i was trying to describe it. Not that I even remember what it was today.
Man, I can't even keep up with that WRW thread anymore. For someone hustling to make $20-$30k over her annual expenses that somehow can't afford health insurance, she has a lot of free time on her hands...
lol, that was my thought. How can you have $20-$30k extra each year, and yet you don't have health insurance?
Re: pregnancy tests. I realize women can test early and that's why they get faint results. I guess I'm just always confused why people don't just wait a few more days and test again. I understand that it can be hard to wait. I always say I wait until my period is a few days late, but with my first, I tested the day of my expected period because I had a doctor appointment. And then with my second, I just couldn't wait past the day of my expected period. So I get the impatience. I just don't understand posting online or being confused when the line will be stronger in a couple days or you'll eventually get your period. My negatives have always been obvious there's no line.
Hey, just came in here to say I'm still around. Been MIA for awhile dealing with PG issues. @Meggyme, thanks for posting that interesting spectacle yesterday. It was entertaining for a few minutes, but the further I read, I'm just sitting there in disbelief. "Whaaaaat is this?" That person had to be making that garbage up.
I just noticed this morning that all week I've been irritated AF. Not
sure what is up with that, but I seriously considered just calling today
off and staying home after my 4.5 year old got up, put new pjs on, got
back into bed, and said she wasn't going to school. On top of that DH
grabbed my breakfast sandwich out of the fridge, it didn't have hot
sauce on it. I wanted to rip someone a new one!
@novelblessings@lelkcot OMG DD1 has hit the terrible 2's HARD in the last 2 weeks. I thought my fuse was short before, but now it's practically non-existent. She resists going to daycare, then resists coming home, then resists sitting on the potty, then doesn't want to play with her toys. We got complacent over Thanksgiving about letting her play with the ipad too much and now every other sentence is a whiney "I want my ipad...." I've had to hide it in the laundry room and send her looking elsewhere around the house for it.

@meggyme I feel you - we were too lax about tv over thanksgiving (DH is way too lax about it in general and sometimes it’s not worth the fight) and we’ve been enjoying extra tantrums about tv. And DS has just been extra whiny and prone to tantrums in general lately. Trying to remember he’s 3 and usually tired or hungry, but man my kid can push all my buttons 😳
@meggyme@lelkcot I agree that the Thanksgiving break messed with things a bit at our house too. But even at almost 5 years old DD has been acting obnoxious recently. She's in the stage where she mocks everything you say and has an attitude, but then still wants you to treat her like a baby. I think with all the changes at our house and baby coming she is a little anxious.
@novelblessings we've been getting a lot of baby acting too. She wants us to hold her like a baby (which I don't mind and sometimes do), carry her like a baby, feed her like a baby, talk like a baby... Unfortunately most of that isn't very conducive to the potty training we've spent the last 6 months working on. Which is another frustration all on it's own.

@meggyme & @novelblessings my son has been extra needy - definitely could be related to adjusting to the idea of a sibling. Maybe we’re all getting some of the sibling adjustment out of the way in advance...? (Or maybe if I lie to myself and say we are I’ll handle it better 🤷♀️)
I’m still here too just lurking because work is crazy. Add me to the list of mamas with crazy toddlers going through a terrible phase and wanting to be treated like a baby. My mantra these days is “this too shall pass”…”I hope”

I’m glad it’s not just us! After 4 days off for thanksgiving my daughter was really struggling back at daycare this week. It’s amazing what creatures of habit they are, even at such a young age.
We’ve also been getting a lot of baby behavior recently, but she makes us all take turns being the baby, the sister, and the mom. I think she’s trying to work out the whole new baby situation through play.
Add us to the crazy toddler phase list. We've been out of sorts the whole month of November. My mom tried to help yesterday with an earlier nap, but DD just slept on the way home last night and didn't sleep til 11 PM.
That thread seems to have disappeared. I guess she must have asked to have her account deleted? I believe if you have your account deleted, all posts you've made disappear, including any that are starting discussions and thus the rest of the discussion.
@lovesclimbing I think the bump gods finally shut it down. She made a very offensive remark and then it disappeared. When you delete your acct or get banned just your posts go away, not the threads they are on.

I'm surprised it was allowed to go on for as long as it did. I was so incensed at the comment about PG loss. There were no words harsh enough! Just stunned.

Yea, but she started the thread. Or wait a minute, no she didn't. Not the WRW one. Huh. The XO group admins aren't supposed to delete threads. At least, that's my understanding. I understand closing it, but threads aren't supposed to be deleted unless the OP deletes their account and it goes away.
@lovesclimbing no she really crossed a line. I didn’t see her last comment before it disappeared, but apparently she doubled down on her shitty statement (not surprised). When things get really ugly the BG’s will remove it completely. That’s what they did with the troll thread that led to the Bump blackout a few months ago.

@meggyme well now I’m dying to know what she said to get a 7+ pg thread completely deleted! Not surprised it got shit down though, it was way off the rails and she was crazy.
@lelkcot I think it got to 9 pages before it was finally taken down. I won't repeat what was said but suffice it to say that in 1 sentence "she" managed to seriously offend loss mom's and mom's of kids with mental disabilities (I think Downs was thrown out there) in one fell swoop.
@Lbloom I was stalking the TTGP ladies and someone quoted the horrible thing she said. I really am beyond horrified being a loss mom & having worked with someone amazing children with mental disabilities. Glad it got shut down and deleted after that.
Honestly I think deleting it was the only good way to stop that runaway train. I have a feeling she’ll be back unless they banned her too, which I doubt. Keeping it around, even as a closed thread would only have fueled more fires.

In lighter things - DH has a man cold... He already came in from work whining that he thinks he has a fever (last time he announced this he had a temp of 99.5, which he then declared a fever 🙄). He gets so whiny when he has a cold.
Lol @lelkcot I feel your pain. We are all sick here but obv someone is worse than the rest.... I saw a meme that went something like, “during labor a woman comes close to the pain felt by a man with a cold”

Something fun for Friday... was going to put it on the names thread but didn’t want to derail the real name ideas! I would have a Paiszlee Kay

We were brainstorming names this week and MH kept saying stupid shit like "foxtrot" and "machete" for names. I'm like, you're gonna have to get serious about this or we're naming him George like I want!
@meggyme Yes! I came across that yesterday. I don’t like people making fun of a child’s name, but I also think that mom should have thought twice before choose a name like that.
I also have name story to share - I went to observe another teacher yesterday and I noticed that she often greeted her students by saying aloha, which I thought was fun. Until about half an hour in to the observation when I realized she wasn’t greeting her students in a cute way, one of her students was actually named Aloha! As a teacher I hear a lot of different names and that is one I have never heard before!
