LH surge after lupron trigger?

Hi all, I'm in the middle of my second egg retrieval - the first one, they harvested 17 eggs, with only 8 mature. I did the lupron trigger for that cycle, and had an LH surge of 64. They had said they might switch my trigger shot to HCG this time, but my estrogen levels have gotten really high and they decided to do the lupron trigger again. My LH surge was 42 today. What are the "normal levels" for LH surge? Do you think, because mine was less this time around, I may have fewer mature eggs?

Procedure is tomorrow! thanks!

  • Hey @fletch1414 I don't know the answer to your question, but you're probably sitting at home going down the Google rabbit hole right now. Just wanted to say that you aren't alone. It will be okay. Hugs.

  • I can't say what will happen in your case, but in my last retrieval, I used a Lupron trigger and my LH was 30.86. They retrieved 15 eggs and 12 fertilized. I'm not sure if the other three were mature and just failed to fertilize or some combination of immaturity or fertilization failure. So I don't think your surge is indicative of how many will mature. I think that may have more to do with how uniformly they've developed up to this point. How did it go?
  • Thanks everyone for your thoughts! So last time I had 17 eggs, with only 8 mature. This time, I had 22 eggs, and I was super relieved to find that 15 were mature. So.. doesn't seem like the actual value of LH mattered all that much for me (in case others come across this post in the future). Thanks!!
