My dad is picking me up in about an hour to go to a football game today. It's currently 10 degrees here. What are we doing.....I don't even LIKE football. (I just like spending time with my dad.)
Also had someone touch my stomach for the first time yesterday. Felt kinda bad that all she'd feel was the squish of pizza and Arby's fries. Baby is there but WELL insulated this week.
ETA: As for me, the air levels are unhealthy where I live because of the wildfires, so I will likely be stuck inside for the weekend with a 4 year old and a 2.5 year old...

We should finish putting up the ceiling in our living room/kitchen today. Once that is done, hopefully things move quickly and I can start to have a house (and weekends) again!
A potential interesting thing we found out last night, one of our properties is in consideration for preservation for the historical society in our county. This was the house we lived in until December of last year before we moved into our current home. We are working to get some records for them but if they do select it (and they came to us, we didn’t even know about it until they posted a picture of our house on their FB page) not only will it increase the value of the home but they also help with funding and restoration which could be awesome. Who knows but it’s kinda cool if nothing else.
I have to go buy some maternity shirts today which is kind of embarrassing because I’m only 10 weeks. Pants I understand because early pregnancy bloating is so uncomfortable but shirts usually take longer for me to need. Apparently not this time
Monday is a holiday for me, so HELLO 3 day weekend. It's "cold" here this weekend, for southern standards, so I'm thinking of cuddling up with my book (currently reading The Nightingale) and not leaving my house. The other part of me wants to get out of my house because I woke up feeling decent.
@wearyfuzzball The nightingale is on my book list. Is it the one by Kristin Hannah?

Its actually warmed up here sitting a -2 celcius right now. Have a friend spending the weekend with us and tomorrow is our big reveal party. Cant wait for some surprised faces
Headed to a Friendsgiving today. Should be a nice time. I’m excited. Tomorrow needs to be a major cleaning day. The house is a disaster and we’re hosting thanksgiving. So hopefully I have the energy!
Let me know if you like it! I love historical fiction. I usually prefer one main character versus two though. So it’s the only reason I haven’t picked it up just yet.

@meatballs37 I will definitely let you know! I'm about 5 pages in, so I have a while to go. 😁 I did just finish The Alice Network by Kate Quinn and would highly suggest if you have not read it. There are two female leads, however I really enjoyed how they tied their stories together. I'm also a big sucker for novels about spies...
DH and I are traveling 2.5 hours away to meet up with the in-laws. Normally this wouldn’t be a big deal, but it’s going to be a really interesting trip seeing how I’m able to handle the nausea all day. It could end up being a total disaster.
Found LO on the doppler today at 10.5 weeks. It definitely helped my anxiety before leaving. I'm at the airport way to early, wish I would have stayed and played with my little guy more. He was extra adorable this morning. He took each of his little people to the play sink and then cradled, rocked, and sang to each one before putting them to bed. He can be so rambunxious and so affectionate.
I'm throwing DS2 a party for his 3rd birthday. It's a shark party. I have to say I have thoroughly enjoyed planning this party. His cake is amazing. Plus I have a ton of different shark presents (shark blanket, shark costume, shark book, shark pjs). He has been so excited!
Sorry I haven’t been a great participant this week. I missed my group, pgal, and stm check-ins I’ll do better next week. But I think I’m only really going to participate during the evenings/night after DD goes to bed. I feel so much guilt being on my phone when she’s awake and wants to play.
As for us this weekend, I think we’re going to start getting some Christmas shopping done!
H and I are on a much needed long weekend away. My in laws have a place in Florida and they’re down for a few weeks so we said enough of the last 2 weeks of cold dark rainy weather in Toronto and came down for a few days. So this weekend I will actually relax and read and eat all the food AND be able to talk about being pregnant because they already know!
I had a really bad migraine last night which I think was brought in by the combo of MS, dehydration, and the smoky air. Puking on the side of the freeway is no fun. It’s even worse air quality today so I’m trapped inside the house. @ruby696 If I remember correctly you’re also in the bay? It’s been a bad year for us for air quality.
@TJtheGoat Yes and its makes me nauseous too. Last year I had a pretty bad upper respiratory infection from the smoke, so I think my body has minimal tolerance this time around. I hit Target early this morning to pick up games/puzzles/movies to keep the kids entertained for the next few days, because I refuse to leave the house. Sorry you're having a hard time with it too.
Does anyone else have major body image issues first tri? I bloat so much first tri and it just makes me so self conscious 😭 I feel like I even out second tri and am not self conscious at all. First tri is a rough one for me.
@luckystar28 Its awful, isn't it? On the plus side, I cleaned my house, made a lasagna, and decided to open a bottle of Fre sparkling brut. So actually not a bad day!
Just made it to the middle of Season 1 of my annual Gilmore Girls watching...the one when Richard collapses at the Christmas party. Emily's "I demand to go first" never fails to make me cry a little but add in pregnancy hormones and holy hell I am a mess.
@whitney812 I know i've gained over 7 lbs in 10 weeks, so it's not so much body "image" for me as it is the realization that i can't fit into any pants and it's not because of my stomach, it's my thighs and butt. But given that the alternative was feeling even crappier and more nauseated, I'm giving myself a pass in the guilt department. Now if someone could bring me a Crunch ice cream bar...
@jhems776 leaving for trips is the worst for me (I travel a lot for work). But coming back is always so sweet.
DH and I are both sick, coughing up a storm, sore throat, you know, typical man cold. MIL came and took DD so we could sleep and rest. Go figure, I wasn’t able to sleep/rest, but DH sure did! I hope this goes away fast... anyone have any remedies to get over colds quickly?
Is it lame if I don't do anything tonight in San Diego? It's 8 my time and I just want food delivered and go to bed at 9 my time but that would be 6pm here, lol. Trying to pep talk my self into going out for dinner and staying up till 11 my time/ 8 here.
@whitney812 nope, right there with you. Around 7/8 weeks I was SO bloated and felt like I really looked several months pregnant. Now it’s more like I start off flat(ish) in the morning and by the time I go to bed I’m a different shape. It’s bizarre to see so many changes over the course of a day! I think it’s been even more difficult because it’s still early so I’m trying to hide it, but when I don’t know what my stomach will look like after lunch (who am I kidding, after my tea even) I have no idea what to wear on any given day. It also doesn’t help that my skin freaked out during month 2; it was worse than when I was in high school and made me sooo self conscious. It’s calmed down a bit, but I’m still fighting to keen it under control and covered up without making it worse. Boooooo!
I gotta stop watching football. My Oklahoma Sooners have almost given me a heart attsck two weeks in a row. Not cool. I look at my HR on my Garmin and I'm like wtf, am I running a marathon?
@whitney812 Ugh I'm right there with you. I am still carrying extra weight in the middle from my last pregnancy 8 months ago, so I already felt like I still looked pregnant. And now it's even worse. I tried on a freaking maternity shirt I wore last pregnancy and it was too tight, so that made me feel great about myself.

This basically sums up how I feel about my body. My maternity shirts from DD are tight. Like how the heck did that happen?!
I’m still banking on breastfeeding to help me lose the weight again.

I'm in the same boat. I was a good weight after I had DS, and BFing helped but I gained a lot of weight after I was done breastfeeding. So now I'm feeling super uncomfortable in my squishy, flabby, bloated body.
@meatballs37 Yea I think since I obviously couldn't breastfeed when I had my daughter that the weight loss has been a lot harder. I am still up about 20 lbs from her and it all sits in my stomach and makes me still look pregnant.

ummm.. is that what he left for you to eat?! People have probably killed for a lot less!
@ki1244 that is such a good moment in the series! Watching it now makes it even sadder that it didn’t happen.
@jhems776 heck no! You’re pregnant. That gives you an automatic out ;-)
