@hannahbananas11 that is a great list and I’m going to save it as a reference. Thank you so much for sharing it!
@megpants209 that’s a good idea to make sure I have someone who has assisted with a good amount of births! That eliminates one from the running. Thank you!
@eggsandwich2019 definitely a good point to go with someone I’m comfortable and click with. Hopefully when I know, I’ll know, you know? Haha.
I hope to have someone hired by Thanksgiving so I can check that off the list.
@hannahbananas11 I caved and bought a maternity coat from old navy. I was adamant about not needing one, but I’m glad I did because I’m already cold!!! (Chicagoland area) it was affordable as I had Super Cash so I think I only paid $50 for mine. It worked out to be around $3-4 bucks a week between now and when baby gets here, and I’m sure I’ll wear it after baby arrives too! There is a little drawstring on the inside to give a little waist shape, so it’s not *too* tarp-like, but as my DH pointed out all my pre-pregnancy poofy winter coats look a little ... well... poofy!
My first prenatal class started 15 minutes ago and I'm stuck waiting at the hospital for the phlebotomist to come draw my blood again because they forgot to do the test the first time around. everything else has come back clear, so at least there's that. But I'm paying good money for these classes and I neeeeeed them.
@ohsunnydays I bought like a heavy pea coat from motherhood maternity onsale it was like $35 and so I was like this will last me buttttttt winter in nyc is questionable lol I asked my mom for a 3in1 coat for my birthday.
Anyone else amazed that it's already november 7th??? Where did October go?? I'm starting to feel the weight of the holidays and wanting to get everything done asap! Minus baby stuff of course hahaha my nesting excludes the nursery apparently.
Our RainbowBaby H arrived at 37 weeks on 12/20/16!

Me @AshleySparkle720! I can't believe it. It feels like back to school was just the other day. February is going to be here before we know, especially with the holidays to distract us.
@AshleySparkle720 time is moving really fast it’s crazy!! I can’t believe thanksgiving is in two weeks - I also plan my work holiday party and that’s coming up fast and I’m like omg
FML I had to rent a car yesterday bc DH needed ours for a work thing. Go this am to drop it off, and there's a big scratch in the front. I'm guessing from the Jewel parking lot. I'm sitting waiting to see $ or whatever. I'm about to cry bc its going to be a fortune and I have my glucose test later and am already in a mood. This week, needs to be over.

@smallbutmighty77 I hate renting cars for that very reason. We picked one up last year that had a small dent in it to begin with, and the agent said that it wasn't big enough to note (but I still took a picture with my phone, thankfully). When we returned it, the agent (different one) tried to blame us for it. I showed him the picture and he backtracked, but he still was rude to us the rest of the time that they processed our return.
@hannahbananas11 I don't mind driving, but I hate having a car I know nothing about and having to figure it out while it belonging to someone else. No thanks.

@AshleySparkle720 - I hear you! I did a big chunk of Christmas shopping for our nieces/ nephews this morning and made lists of what we have bought and need to buy for our own kids.
@smallbutmighty77 - Oh no! That sucks. I hope I sursnce comes through
A coworker came in to my office, stopped I her tracks and said “oh I keep forgetting you’re pregnant. Nevermind, I’ll just ask you here”, and proceeded to ask me a normal work related question. I’m so confused. Was she planning on asking me that question while having me do somersaults? What does my pregnancy have to do with anything???

We had a large meeting today, that we have monthly, I was told about 6 times how small I am considering I only have 12 weeks left... some didn't even know I was pregnant. I dont think I am "small". I've gained 20 lbs as of last Saturday, and my bump is pretty big?... A month ago my measurement was right on track, just slightly over where it should be. Wth, now I am paranoid.
@cass06_07 I get comments on how small I am too. I also get comments on how huge I am, so obviously people have very firm, but varying ideas of how big a pregnancy bump is supposed to be at any stage. It’s comical!

@cass06_07 my theory is that the average person has no concept of what an X week belly will look like on a Y size/shape woman. They literally just say whatever pops into their mind. My manager stopped me in the hall the other day to tell me that for the first time she thought I looked pregnant. At 26 weeks.
@cass06_07 people will always comment on your size (either that you’re too big or too small). It’s a reality of being pregnant I’ve learned. Pretty much no one will tell you that you look great or that you’re the right size.
Someone told me today that from behind they couldnt even tell I was pregnant.. then I turned around.. whole other story. but Ill take it. If it doesnt show from the back maybe ill walk backwards from now on.
My cousin just offered me her medela free style hands free pump! I just need to get a few new parts. I would have never spent that much and my insurance only covers manual pumps at 100%. Yay!!
I had a concert yesterday at school with my kiddos so I wasn't on here at all. They did well but I am tired! I wore heels (at the concert) for the first time since being pregnant. Yup, true. Sad but true? lol. Will try to catch up today!
Squirrels destroyed the pumpkins on our front porch last week. I usually leave them out all Fall, but no such luck this year. Just now, we got home and friggin squirrels were attacking the scarecrow decorations on the porch. I stopped the car in the driveway, jumped out and ran at them yelling, “GET AWAY SQUIRRELS!!!!!” As I was getting back in the car I realized my neighbor was working on his car in his driveway and dying laughing at me
Omg. I have to get so many car seats. While looking for car seats for baby (for both ours and my mother’s car.) we decided to get a different one for DD for our car. We both hate her seat with a passion. I just so happened to check out the specs of the seat DD has in MIL’s car. She’s past the weight limit for the 5pt harness in that one. There’s no fucking way she’s ready to be out of the 5pt. 4 car seats now.
@madreofdragons mind sharing which carseat you hate? I'm so lost when I look at the sea of seats and beyond the technical specs have no idea what to go off of so an opportunity to knock one off the list would be greatly appreciated.
@eggsandwich2019 thats awesome! I worked in publishing for 9 years...I often think about writing something but I have a lot of ADD when it comes to writing something that long lol What is the book about?
@allthingsgo I honestly loved it and did it right out of college. I started in children's publishing and it was SO awesome - I met so many amazing authors including J.K. Rowling because I worked for Scholastic her US publisher. I had so many amazing experiences at that company. I moved on from there after like 6 years because I wanted to progress my career but sadly I didn't have such great experiences after. I worked in sales and I ended up at a larger, more corporate publisher (still in children's though) and it just wasn't the same. Ended up working for a monster woman who made me miserable and took all the joy out of the job. The publisher was also very, erhm, money oriented which made the whole thing worse. People weren't as passionate about kids reading as they were just making money. I quit and haven't gone back - I tried but I think I got blacklisted or something lol. I've tried different areas of publishing besides sales but my experience is mostly in sales so it's hard. I'm happy now though working for a non-profit for young girls - similar passion and work-life balance to Scholastic.
Anyway, sorry for the long rambling response haha.
@madreofdragons - we LOVE our Dionos. I wish I had gotten them from the get-go. We're upgrading DD to a true booster Diono this winter, DS will get the two Dionos we already have, and we will get rid of our two huge Britax seats. Plus side, we can do 3x in our Prius with the Dionos.
