Re: UO 11/1

  • I love having a baby bump. It's my favorite part about being pregnant (besides the baby at the end). I like wearing tighter/ruched maternity shirts to show off my bump. I like maternity jeans. So stretchy. I don't feel like it gets in the way very often for me. So, all in all, I'm really looking forward to having a bump. And I wear my bloat as bump until I get a bump.

@Meatballs37 I love Christmas!  I have done the majority of my shopping already (thank you online shopping with free delivery).  I can't handle the music until December though :)

ETA: we have three December birthdays in our house, so it's an expensive month...just to kind of explain why I start shopping early.  Crazy, but not totally insane ;)

  • A Nightmare Before Christmas is terrible! You can't do that to Santa, so not a kids movie.  I was traumatized seeing it.
  • I hate all the death-related aspects of Halloween.
  • I hate accessories (purses, jewelry, more than one type of shoe for purpose/occasion). I almost never wear my wedding rings. I have a cinch bag that doubles as my purse and diaper bag. My phone case is my wallet. It is beautiful.
  • Peanut butter does not belong in dessert.
  • @jhems776 I hate A Nightmare Before Christmas! My son is obsessed with it right now and I always feel so bad for Santa. The other day my DD said “Mommy, I don’t like Halloween. It’s too scary. I want to take the door to Christmas”. It made me chuckle.

@dcwtada I don’t like accessories much either. The only jewelry I can handle wearing is my wedding ring. I think they look really cute on people, but it drives me crazy when I try to wear anything around my neck or wrists.

  • @eleven_ yes I should have clarified, I like them on other people! For me, I hate keeping track, wearing them, and trying to coordinate

  • Christmas must wait until after black friday. I love all things pumpkin/fall so I want it to last as long as possible.

@ruby696 my question is, do you like peanut butter normally and just not in dessert or not at all?
Peanut butter is my life currently.
  • @Dcwtada Ditto!
I got a nice leather backpack 2 years ago, and I'll never go back to purses! I take it with me to work every day. It's great for my holding laptop, and anything else I need. Plus, it distributes the weight evenly on my back which has relieved some pain for me -- I highly recommend it!
I know I will be getting a backpack type of diaper bag in the future, not the purse kind ;)
  • @ruby696 I am not a huge peanut butter fan in general, so totally agree with you!
  • @runyogamom Oh, love peanut butter on a spoon or an apple or in a sandwich. Just not in dessert.

@ruby696 You can just ship any Reece peanut butter cups to me....
  • @bakerstreetboys I would, but MH might divorce me 😂
  • I’m finicky with peanut butter. I like it on PB&Js, on crackers, and occasionally I like Reece’s, but that’s about it. I like the taste of it, but I just feel like those are the places it belongs, and I won’t really eat it with anything else.
  • In the theme of halloween candy. I don't like chocolate. I peels the outside of snickers and reese's and eat the inside, but give me all the skittle, starburst and airheads!
  • Just remembered my probably actually UO.  If you are going to say Mrs/Mr/Ms it should be with the last name, no need to say with a first name. This is probably just regional but I've always disliked Ms. First Name, like be formal or not.
  • @jhems776, I agree in 99% of cases with you, but my exception to that is my son’s preschool teachers. He has a speech delay and saying multi-syllabic words often trips him up. So, he can handle “Judy” and “Sue” and lot easier for him than their last names. But in my (admittedly personal) opinion, it would be rude for my 3 year old to call his teachers Judy and Sue. So Ms. Judy and Ms. Sue it is.

  • @meatballs37 - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  • @KissMeImScottish I forgot about the little ages and this.  I agree, kids under kindergarten Mrs. Sue is more reasonable.
  • @harrierwife OMG Me too. We host halloween with our friends and it was so hard to watch everyone drink and not be able to. I died a little on the inside lol.

  • Same here with the drinking. All my friends were taking Halloween shots last night and I was just over on the couch watching Hocus Pocus by myself  :'(

  • @harrierwife have you looked into Fre. It’s a nonalcoholic wine. I had a glass of their Chardonnay last weekend and it was actually pretty decent. It’s sad but I feel more involved if I’m drinking fake wine with my friends than just water

@klmcguire - its a little embarrassing to admit that out loud, but.
  • You aren’t the only one with the drinking. I will say it was harder last pregnancy than this one. The toddler makes drinking a lot less appealing
  • @nmbrcrnchr1 - Huh, no, never heard of it. And frankly, I just miss the taste. I'll check it out.
  • Yes to missing the wine. It's sad.

And @ruby696 alright, I am relieved to know you still like peanut butter in other things. Peanut butter is a food group for me.
  • @dntstpbelieveing No judgment from me. I had deli sandwiches twice this week. With roast beef. Cooked medium rare.

I am totally hitting that up!

ETA: OF COURSE, IT IS PROHIBITED IN ALABAMA. Kill me
  • @meatballs37 in our family, the rule is no Xmas until after Thanksgiving :) My dad and I have a tradition of decorating their house (mostly hanging the lights) on black Friday.

I found a spiced grape juice called Grogg mix from Winter White Winery in WI that is kind of hitting the autumn cocktail/hot toddy spot. I would never drink warmed-up wine, but it seems to be taking the edge off on the days I come home and would have been opening a bottle...
  • @nmbrcrnchr1 I looked up Fre after reading your post and I just ordered 3 bottles! This is going to save me for the holidays - thank you!
  • Just a heads up, Fre wine is on Amazon!
  • @srscott3 Of course it is - now that I just bought it from the winery. Well, who needs free two-day shipping, anyway?
  • @antera23, I'm not a drinker either. I don't like the way it makes me feel. Plus, the hangovers were no fun.
