Short term private disability plans

Hi all,

I have called every company I can find that offers short term disability, but I cannot find ANY that sell private plans (ie - not through an employer). Has anyone had success with this?

I hope to get on my husband's plan through his new job soon and then wait to conceive per the plan limitations so that we are covered. OR just save as much as we can and take the time off that way. It just stinks that I wouldn't be getting income during that time.
