1. How many weeks are you? Not even four yet I don't think
2. Previous loss(es)? Chemical pregnancy, m/c around 7 weeks, stillborn daughter at 32 weeks
3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Ok right now. My first beta with the RE wasn't supposed to be until Monday but I hate PGAL brain so I paid for one at Labcorp and went yesterday at 11 DPO. Got the results today and it was 38. Which seemed low, but looks about average for 11 DPO which made me feel better.
4. Any appointment updates? I have another beta Monday morning.
5. Rants/Raves/Questions? Nothing right now.
6. Any milestones coming up? I just want to get past these betas.
7. GTKY: What is your favorite thing about your SO? He makes me laugh and I love that.
Confession: I drew my own betas this weekend and ran them. I’m not even ashamed. They are more than doubling in 48 hrs. And my new favorite website chart is in spoiler.

@meatballs37 yay!!! So my question for you is how long does it take a lab to run them? One time a nurse told me they wouldn’t have the results in the same day, I told her to check anyways, I get mine drawn at our hospital bc they do it faster than at the drs office (I’m pretty sure they have to send it to an outside lab there)
@nmbrcrnchr1 that's crazy. Mine are usually posted to the site within 2hrs after. But they tell me to call back (or that they will call) next day for results.
@meatballs37 yey!!!!!! I would probably have someone run mine if I could too I don't know if I could it it myself though....
@nmbrcrnchr1 it all depends on a lot of factors. (Instrumentation, lab protocol for clotting tubes and spinning time, and where the assay can actually be run).
For example, if I am drawn at my OB the test takes hours to come back because they don’t run them there. The courier only comes twice a day there. Then it gets dropped off at the main hospital for processing in a large batch of other tubes that the techs have to receive and go through.
I had my OB put in an outpatient lab draw order for me at the hospital so I could get results faster. At our hospital it takes 30 minutes to let the gold top tube clot, 5 minutes to centrifuge, and 23 minutes to run the assay (our analyzers are pretty old and we are getting new ones in two weeks. I wonder if they will be faster for assay time).

@prpl11butterfly oh I’m definitely the crazy person in the bathroom finger sticking myself for the draw. 😆 I wanted to run it myself because I don’t want any of my co-workers to know. Although I’m sure one knows for sure since they were in chemistry on wed/fri when my OB ordered ones came. Luckily the results are low so they autofile and he probably didn’t see the results, but I’m sure he still suspects.

Yea, I'm sure he would too. It would be pretty hard to see that and not assume. But, oh well. Not like they won't all know eventually anyway!
I'm super paranoid. Last month, this is as far as I made it (17dpo). I know my betas looked good but still. I'm constantly needing to go to the bathroom to make sure I'm not spotting. I wish my OB was open just so they could give me peace of mind today instead of tomorrow.
@prpl11butterfly your betas looked really great last week, but I still understand the worry. Did you get them drawn last time?

I’m sitting in the lab waiting to get my first beta and progesterone drawn. Of course there was an issue with another lab I’m getting at the same time so I had to get that sorted out 🙄
I woke up yesterday and today with no breast tenderness and the nausea has subsided so of course I’m freaking out. I called the RE’s office to get a blood draw. They were surprised I called bc my original was high but let me come in anyways. Now to wait until this evening to find out if their doubling. I hate the first 10ish weeks of pregnancy so many what ifs and so stressful.
So there is a place online called Walk In Lab. You can order tons of different lab tests and pay (they don't take insurance) and then to a Labcorp or Quest and get it done .I usually get the results the next morning. Totally did this last pregnancy when I needed peace of mind after my RE betas. Sorry to be an enabler haha. It's only $39 for a beta.

Got a call from my NP today. Progesterone was at the low end of acceptable so she is going to prescribe suppositories and my HCG was at 124 which she was not happy with and says I need to retest tomorrow. Struggling with anxiety over this. I really just want to be happy and enjoy this ride but at the same time I am comparing every milestone to where I was with my MC.
@sparklingdiamond it was. So I know logically that I need to wait for the 48 hour doubling to really be able to tell anything I just wish she wouldnt have been so negative about it on the phone. As for dpo I dont exactly know. I was not temping while TTC yet. My complete guess is I would have been about 16 dpo yesterday for the test. I think that I O'd later then "usual". I didnt get a BFP until 4 days after my missed period and that was faint (but based on LMP I would be 5 weeks today).
@dntstpbelieveing I just want to give you a big huge hug. 124 I think is still within the normal limits for 16 DPO. And maybe you are right and ovulated even a little later. I personally think quite a few OB’s put a lot of emphasis on the whole 28 day cycle and ovulation is day 14 and base their numbers off that. Hopefully your beta in 48 gives you some peace of mind.

@dntstpbelieveing if you didn't get a positive until that late I bet maybe you did ovulate later. I tell my doctors all the time I don't have a 28 day cycle and they still never listen to me.
@dntstpbelieveing I'm sorry they were such jerks about it over the phone. I agree it doesn't seem like you're necessarily outside the norm, depending on ovulation dates. Sending hugs. Waiting for these things is the worst.
@dntstpbelieveing I’m sorry you’re in limbo. I think it’s virtually impossible not to compare and contrast every little thing. I was up on my phone at 4a today looking at my pictures from last year to figure out how many days after my BFP I had my MC. Fingers crossed for you.
I cant get my first beta draw until Monday. I’ve been out of town so much that I didn’t have 48 hours where I could get a draw until then. Le sigh. The waiting game is real
