@inthewoods23 I feel you :( Has he found it by accident?
Last year I had a friend who owns a small wood engraving business make a wood card that says, "You're my favorite person to make a person with" with two tiny feet on it... It's still in the box, as well.

@emeraldduchess Yesss. So many planned crafts.

  • @lcking82 MF's best friend is getting married in Mexico Dec 6th. If I get KU this cycle I'd be due sometime around Dec 4th. I told MF a flat no to the trip but realistically we should just make sure we have a good cancellation policy and book the damn trip. But also, is there Zika in Mexico? FML.

  • @lcking82 I have a friend who has a trip planned for next May - white water rafting. Problem is, she's getting married in October and they want to start trying for kids ASAP. So now she's gotta decide between TTC and a vacation since I don't think they allow any months pregnant for white water rafting.

  • @kiki047: Yeah, some of our friends are going to a Zika+ area of Mexico, and DH and I were invited, too.  But, I just point blank said no - more because you have to abstain for awhile after Zika exposure (and I'm too old to abstain for several months!).  From my recent check, I think Mexico has no current outbreak, but does have previous outbreaks, so you are supposed to avoid preganancy for a few months upon return.
    brookert615
  • @kiki047 Mexico is still at risk for zika. We went to Mexico last year so we had to be benched for 6 months  :#

  • @inthewoods23:  ugh, that's tough.  If they have travel insurance as an option, that would be a good idea.

Part of me keeps thinking the more things I book (and so forth), the more likely we are to actually "fall pregnant" (sidebar - my favorite old-school terminology)!

Anyway, this is the last cycle where we would have to cancel the cruise, since getting KU in April or later would work out to be early enough for me to still go (and probably cheaper without alcohol, right?).
    kiki047jennifer_louise
  • @kiki047 Mexico still has Zika cases. In fact, I read there was concerns they were under-reporting their cases. For me personally, I wouldn’t risk it since you then have to abstain for at least 6 months.

@lcking82 I told him we need to check with our RE's office first to see if they have any restrictions on doing IVF with couples who have been to a Zika area recently. But also, if we do happen to get KU anytime between now and then, we still couldn't/wouldn't go. He's sad because he doesn't want to miss it and at one point he was talking about going by himself but I secretly hope he can't because I don't want to be left behind.

Edited to add: We also booked our honeymoon in Hawaii at the end of Sept so we'd also have to cancel that if I get KU this cycle or next.
