I know someone who does the Argo or whatever skin care thing. I had to hear a lot about it and even watch a power point once. I just acted disinterested (which wasn't hard ) and the pitches stopped but it was a bit much there for a minute. I guess not seeing the social media bombardment is one more good reason for me not being on FB!
@BourbonBiscuits there were tornado warnings in Perry Co, which is in our area but about 50 mi away. We had severe thunderstorm and flash flood warnings. It just non stop rained forEVER.
Oh and a couple of things friends: I’ve missed two of my weekly posts for the last 2 weeks somehow (WTF Weds & FFFC). If they’re not up by the time lunch is over and you have something burning to talk about, please start them!
And.. back in the day I bought quite a bit of LLR leggings and they’re ugly af but man are they comfortable.
MLMs as a business model are f’ing stupid though and predatory towards mothers in particular. If there is a product that I like, I may purchase it, but more than likely I won’t go that route. Don’t leverage friendships to make a dollar, get a real job.
@cmjenkies I was reading these posts in my comfy AF LLR leggings last night, I buy when people are doing going out of business sales, happens fairly often! So they were $7! I ultimately feel bad for the friends that get suckered in.
I actually get tops. Same, I’m in a group that sells them cheap and from one of my D14 girls. I have a bunch of leggings from years ago. They’re too expensive and a lot of them fell apart. Tops on the other hand have lasted. That company is really effed up though. A LOT of people got screwed over.
I also hate all MLM stuff and Lularoe is downright shiteous and really bad quality. I've blocked or deleted everyone who wasn't annoying with it, so it's not as big of an issue for me anymore. But woah, when someone private messages me about it, HOLD ME BACK. I remember right after I had DD a Beachbody "coach" messaged me about getting my body back. Fuck you, opportunistic bitch, for using my newborn and newfound body image issues as a selling point. I was not nice at all.
Sooooooo confession time: I was bit by the lularoe bug and was even a consultant but me and my partner weren’t INSANE and invested like our life savings in it. We did it for fun for a little while, made our money back and even a profit and then we stopped bc the company got balls crazy. It’ll probably be bankrupt soon honestly...I got some inventory leftover in what will be baby’s room lol I’m probably gonna just donate it somewhere
Random weekend vent here: wow it’s hard to be the only sober one in a group at a bachelorette party! I threw my sisters bachelorette weekend and I am mentally/physically drained. Everyone had a great time though which is all the matters plus I didn’t have the luxury of any nasty hangovers!! I’ll be in bed by 9:30 tonight!
Little TMI warning and a bit of advice. I’m sure a lot of you have seen the Amazon reviews for Haribo sugar free gummy bears. People ate a lot. Pooped even more. I really only have a sweet tooth while pregnant, but with GD my options are limited. I thought different brand and only a handful would be okay. Omg guys. I’m going to have to have my mail sent directly to my bathroom now. If any of you are struggling with constipation forget colace. A small, I repeat SMALL bag will pretty much clean out anything you’ve eaten since the mid ‘90s or so.
i need to get out of bed and I have this very intense morning at work ahead of me, right out of the gate. I don't want the weekend to be over!!! Waaaah
@madreofdragons Oh my god. You've got me laughing out loud at my desk. Trying to come up with logical reasons to be laughing this hard when my boss inevitably asks.
@madreofdragons That was the best series of poop posts yet. Side note: seriously considering taking Haribo gummy bears as a supplement to get things moving...
Omg I can't even lurk on the A19 board because there's no organization or order. Gahhh!
The May 19 girls are way too nice, which is why there's no organization there either. I mean I'm all about hugs and love, but clearly a gentle nudge towards the READ THIS FIRST thread isn't working for them ...
I sell pure Pure Romance and have for two years. I don’t just randomly cold message people or harass my friends about it. The ladies that are doing this type of thing usually end up failing pretty quickly because it’s just plain lazy to run a business like that.
ive been extremely successful with it. It’s not fair to lump all mlms together (with companies like it works and luluroe which are both insane).
Also doing this type of work is hard. Telling women to “get a real job” when we put in over 40 hours a week and work our asses of isn’t fair.
We also arent a pyramid scheme that is just annoying when people assume that.
For me, I don’t mind people who sell with MLMs as long as they aren’t obnoxious and don’t make health claims that aren’t actually verified. Tupperware is still my jam after all these years (never sold it, just use it all the time).
I’m not gonna lie I STRONGLY considered trying it out after seeing my old roommate do SO well. But she’s also extremely outgoing and had no problem talking to huge rooms of people to preach her products so I know I wouldn’t have been successful to that level.
My beef is exactly what @lifeofboggs and @kayjay44 said - those who bombard you. For so many people it’s just relentless and I HATE the pseudo-science behind a lot of the products. And I stand by LLR being ugly
@megpants209@lifeofboggs@kayjay44 totally agree. I have to say though, I've literally never been approached by someone who sells the products without it being an over the top "HAY GURL" message. But I guess that's the easiest way to market, right?
@kayjay44 Tupperware is the best, hands down. I've also gotten some good things from Pampered Chef. My mom has friends who sell both of those. @lifeofboggs I've never heard of Pure Romance, so I looked it up. That must be one of the funnest products to host a party around! I will harshly judge anyone and any company who sells supplements or meal replacements by making completely unfounded health claims. Hence my hatred of Plexus.
@BourbonBiscuits it’s the laziest way to market yourself lol they need to establish a relationship with a person first and then if it comes into a conversation then great give your pitch otherwise it comes off as needy. @hannahbananas11 Pure Romance is deff. Unique lol
I agree with you guys about the health ones. They are usually unfounded have no research to back up there claims and if one more beach body or it works ladies sends me a PM telling me they can “get my body back” I’ll punch someone in the throat. You do not earn customers by insulting them!
